Good luck to them, buying him at age 29 after his attitude problems at Villa would be up there with the worst Derby transfers ever... Would McCormack and Forrestieri be one of the most temperamental front lines in the league? Both have a history of going on strike to either get a move or a better deal and both fit the bill of 'mercurial' players. Great on their day, absolute passengers at their worst. Don't know about temperamental, but they would kill Wednesday defensively. Neither play does any tracking back at all. Can remember Barry Bannan going absolutely ape-5hit at Forestieri when we played them at our place. The guy was literally walking back.
MackworthRamIsGod
I've been told from a reliable source that Villa are looking to make a surprise bid for Darren Bents penis, a fee of 5 million is being touted. Its a shlong shot but maybe we could get McCormack as a replacement?

Could we have a sporting use for Viagra. the ultimate performance enhancer or would it lead to Darren being "offside" even more often?..........think about it! Rample
He used to a bit but hasn't done much of at all in the past few years. I imagine he wants to play exclusively as a striker now.
Millenniumram
I'd take him here in a heartbeat, should be available on the relative cheap now and is still IMO the best striker in the division. Can't fathom why Villa haven't really been using him, and if I was him I'd be annoyed at all the players Villa are bringing in for the same position he's in, can't be good for morale the sheer number of strikers they have on their team, as well as the upcoming purchase of Rhodes that's rumoured

But how would he fit here? 29 as well. Wouldn't want us to pay any more than £5m if we did.

Think he's definately got good all round play, brings others into the game much better than say Darren bent does. His age is a concern to me too and I certainly wouldn't want to be paying big money for him, but Villa are hardly in a good position to negotiate- even some rumours he may be available for loan! I'd snap their hands off for that, a deal worthy of pearsons stupid Martin loan!
Nuwtfly
No way... "Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack is wanted by two Championship clubs - one of them Derby County - according to a report in the Daily Mail. The other club is said to be Sheffield Wednesday." http://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/derby-county-in-new-ross-mccormack-link/story-30080223-detail/story.html Can't actually find the Daily Mail article the DET are citing anywhere. Would be useful if they actually included links to their sources...
LauraH
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4148410/Barcelona-consider-Falkirk-kid-Tony-Gallacher.html Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday have joined Fulham by showing interest in signing Aston Villa Ross McCormack. However, Villa's hopes of getting their £12million fee back may have been damaged by Steve Bruce's criticism of the Scotland international following Saturday's 2-2 draw with Preston. Bruce was scathing about McCormack's attitude to training at Villa and that has only added caution to the interest from rival clubs. They would prefer to take McCormack on loan with view to permanent signing rather than pay Villa's £12m asking price now.
