I've just chuckled at a SSN banner news item that says Fawaz not looking to recruit a manager until the summer and that - andI quote

"Gary Brazil will remain in charge unless there is a downturn in form".

How on earth would you tell lads?

Also, at that point what would he do? So forest loose the next 4 by 5 goals each. Fawaz says, 'nows the time to unveil Filipe Scolari, i had him lined up all along.'

no, Fawaz says, 'no one else wants the job, so Brazil will continue to have it unless there is an even bigger downturn in form.'

Had a quick trawl through Forest's match day thread for yeasterday.

There's quite a perceptive piece from one guy, about the spending power of teams relegated from the Prem. Nothing we don't know, but it's a reminder.

Their defence was HUGE. I'd be interested to know what their individual heights are. Six foot and some inches. If they won the ball, they could stride away with the ball and outpace our chasing men. That's what the Prem is all about. These 'failures' are given so much money when they drop that they can keep their team together. The reason why players in the Prem cost so much, however inflated and ridiculous their wages/transfer fees, is their athleticism, pace etc, never mind their superior skill

I think we can safely say Norwich have spent way more than us over the past 4 years not only in transfer fees but agent fees and wages, and by a fair way as well, and yet are in no FFP worries, that's the top and bottom of it. these relegated clubs are spending a bloody fortune and there's no comeback, just look at QPR ffs, have spent more than anyone and not FFP embargo or fine.
We keep hearing Derby have spent millions, maybe they have but even that lot haven't spent the money these relegated sides have spent either.

All in all its just making it 10x harder to get up, relegated sides have a bigger advantage, they can keep their best players, and buy up the best talent as well, like Newcastle have done this season, and Villa have spent about 30m as well, yet no comebacks.
we've got no chance, when spending 2.5m quid is putting us in the firing line, only to see Norwich spunk 8m on a Wigan player it makes me laugh, and then there's Villa spunking 12m quid on Mccormack, only to throw him out on loan 6 months later and buy Hogan for 8m quid?..

its a joke

This is so true. And it's exactly why Newcastle, Norwich and Villa are going straight back up as the top three, 30 points of their closest championship rival. And why Fulham and QPR are now Champuons League regulars. No one in the championship ever stood a chance.

Come on now, a lot of honesty in there?

Law of unintended consequences - something well intended in FFP for protecting clubs is having the effect of concentrating wealth and opportunity in certain hands.

It is an inherintelt unfair system. But using it as an excuse as to why you got trounced by Norwich is going a bit far. There are plenty of championship teams, with lower budgets than eaither of us, who have beaten them quite happily this season. They're not likely to bounce straight back up, nor are Villa, so more money doesn't automatically mean you'll beat everyone, and it doesn't mean that every opponent has a pre-made excuse when you do beat them (no matter what Sean Dyche may think).

Lifes not fair.

I can see why parachute payments were introduced, come and give it a go in the Premier League, mix it up and we'll help you out if you go down.

What's happened now is a new TV deal is in place meaning extra money for just being in the Premier League and on TV and those clubs are staying up and we're seeing the likes of Villa and Newcastle drop, established clubs which shouldn't need extra help other than allowances for FFP.

Simple solution would be to only give parachute payments to clubs that drop down after one season in the Premier League.

When a club manages to stay up after promotion, those parachute payments are distributed fairly between all Football League clubs.

Any club coming down after more than 1 season in the Premier League are excluded from FFP sanctions for 2 seasons.

Bournemouth earned £70m in TV revenue money 15/16

http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/SPORT/14517559.AFC_Bournemouth__Cherries_earned___70million_in_Premier_League_prize_money/

If they came down last season they would also have also received £87m in parachute payments over 3 seasons had they stayed down.

That's not right.
