Gypsy Ram
Can't believe no one mentioned Prince of Persia. Also Tanks was a fun family game around Christmas time.

Absolutely loved Prince of Persia and the sequel. That was when computer games were properly difficult. No saves, one hour time limit to complete the game and no walkthroughs. It took me ages to work out that I had to merge with my reflection rather than fight him.
ramsbottom
Just remembered Resident Evil 4 on the Wii. Almost retro by today's standards Stunt Driver on the C64 was always a good laugh...

maxjam
Some great games in this thread - lots of memories My favourite games of all time are probably Sensible Soccer on the Amiga and Super Mario Kart on the SNES (both played with mates were amazing), but I've been gaming since my zx81 days I could probably list 100 great retro games! cosmic
Streets of Rage / Streets of Rage 2. Bonus info: Has an amazing soundtrack that is very well respected by a lot of electronic artists and DJs even today. Composed by Yuzo Koshiro back when making music for computer games was still quite a restrictive process.
