Do you? well the implication, or suggestion if you prefer, is that Clement thought he would walk the Championship by spending money and didn't put in the effort or take it seriously enough. Rammeister
Wasn't the seven (or however many it was) strong analytics team supposed to do all the donkey work? Like what happened at Madrid...

I don't think that's true. Any manager would know that there isn't such a thing as an easy league in the entire world haha. He isn't clueless. Has anyone considered that just maybe he had faith in his back room staff to provide the information that he required?

Yani P
Seriously some of the comments in here are just plain embarrassing So are we now being asked to believe that Clement was so unprofessional that he took up his first major role in the limelight but thought he would walk the league and therefore didn't put any effort in or take it seriously.. Yeah it's all Clements fault. He is ****. He lied on his cv. He's clueless, he only laid out the cones at Madrid. But chairman Mel could do no wrong. He's the embodiment of the Derby way and the fans. Let's all blame it on Clement who hasn't said a word on the subject so far. But no, Mel is prefect, he invited us to breakfast. Clement is bad. He should have invited us to dinner.

RadioactiveWaste
Clement wouldn't gain anything right now by giving interviews - his reputation is still high (outside of Derby) and folk seem to think chairman Mel is to blame. Perhaps Mel struggled to get across a series of issues, some subtle or subjective in the interviews following (the cursed "derby way") when the media wants a story, not nuance and truth. I'm inclined to think things were not black and white and it's clear from those who've had the chance to meet with him that he puts forward a reasonable case for the move. What's muddied it is giving it Wassall with so much season left - at the time i thought it was an until we get out guy lined up, but that's seemingly not the case. YouRams
Hope he makes it as a manager seems a genuinely nice chap. Certainly more to the sacking than we will ever know.
cosmic
Hopes we "get what we're looking for", or "get what we deserve"? Really wish he'd had a full season rather than this weird limbo we find ourselves in.
RoyMac5
Crap, I hate that he speaks so well - wish he'd ranted and raved and then it'd be easy to dislike him or laugh at him. This way I feel we're the one's to be laughed at...
Zag zig
When he talks like that makes you wonder with the potty championship, whether he may just have done enough to get us through the play offs. Sobering thought for Clement and Mel

DcFc Dyycheee
Didn't really like the football we played under him and thought sacking him was the right decision, but he always spoke well in interviews and had a bit of class about him, always said it how is was and admitted to the odd mistake he made.
