It still does not beat when you told us lance Armstrong had wrongly been accused of drug cheating....B4 would have been pleased with that one :-D

All I remember thinking was "we'll be alright once Porter's fit again, he knows where the back of the net is." I was wrong. to be fair he was never fit again so we will never know if you were right or not.

loughboroughRAM
I remember being so excited at the signing of Nacer Barazite on loan from Arsenal...being young and impressionable I thought any foreigner from Arsenal's academy with long hair MUST be good. It transpires my impressionable former self was wrong

Bris Vegas
Add Carson to the list. Thought he'd be a pointless signing, I was wrong.

maydrakin
Players I was pleased to see us sign were Vas Borbokis - remember seeing him at Sheffield Utd and thinking he was by far the best player on the pitch. We signed him and he suddenly became homesick. Claude Davis - looked great for Preston and always looked imperious for them against us. Not sure how badly I got that wrong. The player I hated (and still can't bring myself to like at all) was Marco Gabbiadini. A useless fat lump up front.
Animal is a Ram
Steve Davies. Shame he never amounted to much, quite liked him as a player but had a shocking injury record, each more freakish than the last.
Ramos
Gary twigg. We all had such high hopes
rynny
The last player I wrote off before he played was Paul Dickov, until Carson signed. That said I didn't write him off as such just called him a gappy tooth ....... that wasn't much better than Grant.
Grimbeard
When we signed Paulo Wanchope and Mauricio Solis, my first thoughts were that Solis might turn out to be decent but I didn't much like the look of the tall gangly one. Oh dear.

We do have him to thank for the wonder goal he scored against Newcastle in 'that' season which ensured our only win (and that we stayed unbeaten against Newcastle). Van der MoodHoover
Kenny Burns surprised me in the early 80s. I thought he'd be an inarticulate, overweight, gobby, useless has-been s***e with no pace whatsoever. but he was in fact far worse
Bridgford Ram
Those mentioning Addison bring back some memories. What a player he looked like becoming. Was dominant at centre half or in the base of the midfield. Such a shame injuries ravaged him. I used to like Jason Kavanagh but think I might be on my own! ramsbottom
Got to hold my hands up and admit that I thought Keogh was a busted flush at the start of the season. I would've had anybody next to Shackell but him. Now i couldn't be happier that he's bossing it the way he is. Already said it on another thread but I couldn't see Martin being the success he is. But that was more to do with the fact I couldn't see Nigel playing any other way than 4-4-2 survival-ball.
