Might be linked to the Leicester debacle -supposedly Warburton was a name floating about a few days back.
Mr Tibbs
This would be madness if true. For us it could be good news but for the good of football I hope it's a load of rubbish. He's done very well there and I'd like to see him continue to see just how far Brentford can actually go.
CornwallRam
If this is for footballing reasons it's insane. He made a League 2 size club compete at the top of the Championship. To me, that makes him one of the best managers around. Even if there's a big takeover in the air, Brentford would be better off giving Warburton the millions to spend, rather than bring in a Sven like big name. If it is for something going on behind the scenes it seems a little odd that they haven't sacked him immediately.
Animal is a Ram
Manager could secure consecutive promotions and will be gone in the summer. Madness.

Mick Harford
My Brentford mate reckons he's on a 12 month rolling contract and that the enquiry to Rayo is just contingency.
CornwallRam
So a rich owner wants to have more control. Well I suppose it has worked brilliantly at Forest, Leeds and Cardiff.

EastKentRam
I remember reading interviews where Warburton and the owner seemed like best mates. Both ex city boys aren't they?

uttoxram75
So Brentford are planning ahead in case they lose Mark Warburton? Sounds a well run club tbh.
McRamFan
Tough one to call on this one, either planning well ahead and have a sensible attitude that no one is going to be there forever, or a huge gamble 'consider novel strategic approaches to the game' aka cut corners, twist the rules etc
Bris Vegas
Brentford have been a real success story this season, and if they're merely planning in case Walburton is tempted elsewhere at the end of the season then it's a sound move. Lining up Paco from Rayo - that would be an incredible swoop. They've played brilliant football this season, and their scouting department has done a fantastic job. I think they could realistically be another Swansea City. They've got a new 20,000 stadium coming along the way and they seem to have a brilliant business model in place. They're already miles ahead of the rotten clubs like Blackburn, Fulham, Bolton, Forest and Cardiff both on and off the pitch.

Dimmu
Ain't his contract is ending after this season? He will have takers and they club can keep their options open. Can't see what's so bizarre goings on even by football standards. Just ambitious owner, they aren't that rare!
ilkleyram
Well I hope that we're doing something similar. Steve won't be here forever - his choice or Sam's - and I hope that we have someone looking now to find the right person to replace him when it does happen
