You're entitled to your opinion on Curtis as a CB. Although personally I think you're way too harsh on a man who has played well overall this season...remember him away at West Brom? His distribution has also improved, testament to hard work off the field & willingness to improve even at his age.
But what I'm struggling with are your snipes at his character in this thread, one such example quoted above. This is a man who waived his insurance to play for us in that last game decider v Sheffield Wednesday that kept us up. This is a man who when our backs are against the wall, is the first guy to get his head on the ball, time & time again.
Curtis Davies is a top man, a credit to this club & deserves a damn sight better than your disrespect, just because he's had a rough game.

Three main things that killed us last night. Rotten luck, Poor decision making, and some ropey defending (mainly at left back).
Rotten luck - Morrisons shot late on, couldn't have hit it better and low and behold they have a player getting in the way.... The other being hitting the bar, we just don't seem to get the breaks when attacking.
Poor Decision making- Morrison shooting rather than passing into the channels for Byrne at least three times. they fallen out? Our ability to hold the ball up was awful as well and away from home that has to be something we get right.
Defending- Even before conceding the goals we looked lazy and so out of sorts. The free header that Roos did really well to smoother was baffling that we just left him free. Fozzy on the second goal, looks laboured and not up to the speed of the game, Buchanan came on and just didnt get into it at all. Daft to give the freekick away second half and then what the rest of the back four were doing was strange for such levels of experience.

Hard to stay positive but the fans were absolutely tremendous last night! Noise levels were constant! Lets stick together!

Yes, we are not scoring many goals and he has contributed to more than most.
He is what he is. A talented attacking midfielder who can win games one week and frustrate the next as is the case with most in his position at this level. For every performance of his like Forest or Luton there will be one like last night. Surprisingly putting a piece of cloth around his arm hasn’t changed this but I don’t think that is his fault or justifies some of the stick I see he is getting in this thread (plenty not related to his captaincy at all). Besides, we only see what happens on the pitch. Maybe he is a good influence on Morrison behind the scenes, who he seems close with. Or maybe getting into a frenzy about who the captain is is a complete waste of energy because whoever wears that piece of cloth will not change the personality of the players selected. Davies and Jagielka will lead as it is in their nature to do so, perhaps Lawrence won’t. But who really cares?
I find it a shame that it has only taken a couple of poor results to see fans start ripping in to players again. Not just Lawrence but he is one that gets it more than most for whatever reason. It is not his or any other players or coaches fault we are in this position so it would be nice if we could continue to get behind them.
I dare say he had his chance to get out of this poo show in the summer and didn’t take it.

My second game of the season.
Millwall would have been my last away day had it not been for Covid, but not been since the 3-3 which I can't believe was 6 years ago.
I have a 1/1 record so far this season so hopefully that bodes well.

He’s our top goal scorer FFS and we’ve had one of the tightest defences in the league.

The goals yesterday came from Forsyth being in no-mans land and Buchanan giving the ball away too easily and then having to foul and give a free kick away.

I’d rather have Davies in this team than the majority of the others - too many to mention.

This is no time to sack. Rooney is a top manager. We’ll get through this. If you can keep your head when all around are losing there’s and blaming it on you…

You can moan and pick fault, but the problem with Derby is obvious. We do not have an out and out goalscorer. This was a problem with the club for about 3 seasons now and you can't blame Rooney for that. Lets hope we get bought and the new owners can supply some monies for the January transfer window. Rooney being a prolific scorer should be able to identify a young striker possibly from league 1 or 2 because i don't think we will be in the market for a Premier or championship standard player.
Then in March onwards will be the time to judge him and his coaches

I can’t agree with that! Yes a bad day at the office but we’ve earned 17pts so far with a very scratch team and would be 5pts outside drop zone if we hadn’t been deducted 12pts. Tremendous character so far but everyone needs to stick together and get to January now.

Ya canna make a silk purse outta a sow’s ear. Rooney can’t be judged until he can build a squad of his own. Two dreadful defensive errors tonight, can you blame the coaches for that ?

Until we get taken over it’s irrelevant whether he’s good enough or not. May as well get behind him and the lads until they stop trying. Last 20 mins tonight we huffed and puffed but couldn’t score.

For me, you just have to get behind Wayne Rooney and the team.
He hasn't had a fair crack of the whip yet and the players are giving 100%. Well, apart from the diversion that was the first half against Blackburn.
Hoping more goals will come now CKR is back.
If we beat Barnsley things will start to look a bit different. It really is a huge game.

This game is massive. Win today and by Wednesday night we could be ahead of Barnsley by 3 points.

Lose today, Barnsley win and also beat us and we’re 9 points behind them.

Come on Derby, let’s go and get 3 points and show our potential new owners what a great bunch of supporters we are.

A lot of companies are structured to run off debt …. and do it very successfully. So in my opinion whether this bloke is a billionaire or not is irrelevant - particularly in the championship. The killer question is does he have access to suitable and sustainable funds (debt or equity), does his business model allow him to service the debt (and make investments in the right areas). If the investors confident of earning a decent return over time and in the case of debt investor -  that when their debt matures the business will be able to pay that back……dare I say it….. with new debt and a different interest rate - then so what. As others have pointed out, having wealthy owner -  in the world of P&S is more challenging and ends up with higher risk strategies - where the owner maybe tries to stretch the boundaries beyond the affordable in the knowledge he could fund the higher consequence outcomes from personal wealth for a period of time.
Right now, I feel we’re crying out for someone who tries to run our club as a long term sustainable business - lives within the means - creates a stable environment for the management team to plan and evolve the team with investment. Rooney has made shrewd signings without a pot to p in so it’s proven he doesn’t need millions - he just needs to have clear communication from the club and know what he can work with in advance and plan accordingly.  And yes I’m sure that model will include selling players at the right price and the right time.
Whether Kirchner is the right man for the job - I don’t know. But at least he’s been communicated his intent and given us all something to get excited/cynical about!!

I just want a football club that has a chance of staying in the Championship this season and not facing the prospect of selling Bird etc. in January. If not, being run sensibly in League 1 and retaining as much of our young talent as possible.
Anything else I would class as massively greedy considering the position we are in.
Couldn't give a duck if he has billions or just enough for us to operate sustainably. His attitude to the future of our club is more important.
