What I can't understand with the EFL, is that why aren't clubs who get promoted to the Premier after breaking FFP rules, not subject to a points deduction on return to the championship?  The likes of QPR and Bournemouth should have started their first season back in the championship on negative points.

The ones next to me are available but I can’t see you slumming it in the east stand ?

Where have I shown him a lack of respect? 
I couldn't care less if he is a Professor or the king, what he said was wrong and pretty much everyone educated in the matter appeared to agree on that.
Having worked as an accountant/auditor for 23 years I would like to think I do have a bit of an idea what I am talking about and to be honest could not care less how much respect you show to either me as an individual or my opinion. 
If you think I'm wrong by all means tell me why but just saying Mr Pope is a professor does not hold much weight in the debate I'm afraid.

WG Grace notoriously never walked so perhaps those days never actually existed. Wherever there are rules there are loopholes to exploit and when you have a sport whose very essence is increasingly skewed by excessive finance that authorities and regulators are seemingly powerless or unwilling to control, then loopholes in their rules will be challenged, pushed and exploited by those who can. 

Pretty much every business in the country looks for loopholes to gain an advantage - and when the competition is so skewed by parachute payments, clubs that want to be competitive have to look for any opportunitiees they can - it's up to tthe governing body to close loopholes when they become apparent, not to punish teams retrospectively because the goveerning body were too incompetent to manage the rules correctly....

Prefacing this by saying I have no insider info and have heard nothing
But if I was in a situation where I felt the EFL were being unreasonable and trying to force us to accept sanctions with seemingly no reason I would fight it - However if I was also trying to repair relationships with the EFL and show good faith to them I would be doing it in private - I wouldn't be shouting about it, I wouldn't be telling the fans how unreasonable the EFL are being and I wouldn't even make a single comment which could be construed by the EFL as being negative/aggravating 
It's frustrating for us not hearing anything - But I don't blame Morris for not saying anything - I think if he were to come out and let everyone know what the hold up is I suspect it would out the EFLs back up and make them dig their heels in further

I would speculate this will all depend on what cards Mel holds. If he has one from the auditors governing body to say that our method of amortization is within their rules Mel will be fighting to use it but the EFL will be fighting to stop him. If Mel can use it no doubt he will want some form of compensation to cover his defence costs and things like losing Marriott on a free transfer. The EFL will be fighting to hang something on us to save face and stop the pressure they are getting from lower league clubs many of which cannot be happy that the EFl are wasting their money. Peterborough owner apparently has come out and said that. If it was an open and shut case it would be all over by now so common sense says we must have something that the EFL cannot bulldozer over without ending up in a court of law. Far fetched? Only time will tell but that old phrase might just ring true- In Mel we trust

To the EFL themselves. I guess they set up a different panel to hear the appeal, and Wednesday were happy enough with the result to not challenge it further.
Without having an in depth knowledge of their case, it did seem pretty open and shut on the guilt, just the punishment was open to interpretation.
If we don't think we've broken any laws, or indeed stated rules, which seems to be the case, I'd lawyer up to the high heavens, encourage the auditors to do the same, and see them in court.

i agree with everything youve said over the last couple of posts. just wanted to highlight were uv said right manager.. when leicester won the league, they did it in under claudio ranieri who when he took over from pearson was the favourite to be sacked first and take them down! he proved, me included, everyone wrong.
i still cant get my head round them winning the league but it just goes to show u what can happen when all the stars are aligned

Yeah, I am good mates with a Leicester fan, who because he is a nice bloke, is almost embarrassed when chatting footy these days. It doesn't seem so long since we both used to sit there bemoaning our fates and now we have diverged horribly (for us!)
I'm pleased for him and other Leicester fans, who are just like us, really.
