You seem to be blaming him because the manager thinks he’s good enough to start in a position that doesn’t suit him. I think he’ll go. If he does I really wish him well but we’ll have done very well if we have a better player next season 

Shame to just miss out but certainly not a failure. Lots of positives under the circumstances.

With respect please could the EFL:-
Implement points reductions when appropriate rather than delay for 9 months. 
  Ensure that refs are conversant with rules governing yellow and red cards and what constitutes a penalty. Adopt an  even handed and impartial approach which does not favour certain teams at the expense of others.

Yep. It was must-win for them as they would almost certainly go down if they had lost (or at least start the final day in the relegation zone).
It looks like Forest will start the final day outside the bottom 3, requiring them to lose and potentially two others to win. Unfortunately a big ask.

The players he’ll want will not be as good as several who have been playing this year and who will leave 😞 

Lifted according to Dom on Radio Derby.....will not be spending loads and still under buisness plan but we can now trade in the market  again.

Key players leaving isn’t the same as;
Key players will leave, and will be replaced, that’s typically what happens. While I’d be gutted to see the likes of Sibley, Knight, Bird or Cashin leave because they have talent and potential still, plus they’re home grown and I love the romance of a home grown player doing well for the team, none of them are irreplaceable. And the reality of where we are as a club is if they were top, top players we’d sell them and lose them anyway. 
 
Warne might not sign players who are individually as good as a Knight or Bird or Sibley, he also might surprise us and be able to find the odd gem, Barlaser was a decent pick up for Rotherham wasn’t he? So long as the players he does bring in can combine into a successful team that is more than the sum of its parts I’d accept that some players had to move on, that’s very much the nature of football.

I was all for sibley starting. But he was poor first half. And he’s done very little since Warne started paying him up front. He’s now had many chances which he has failed to take 
I’m not sure many at all are claiming it was a penalty.  It was undeniably soft at best. But to my eye it looked like a pen in real time and the ref only has one chance
And the refrain that “to give a penalty the ref should always be sure” ? Where does this come from ?  I’m sure it’s not what the baby refs are told at their FA training. Maybe some of the refs on here can tell what they actually are told 

Play the system that suits the best players in the squad - that would be a bloody miracle for Warne!

I think two words define this season: fine margins. Since February, we’ve fallen on the wrong side of them every time. 
The players gave everything today and the performance was a creditable one. The game hinged on one mistake and sometimes in football that’s all it takes.
Some might deem this season a failure and the anti-Warne sentiment will no doubt be in overdrive over the coming days and weeks, but it’s needless.
Personally I don’t think at any point we’ve looked like one of the three best teams in the division, so I don’t think there should be much of a hangover if any at all. The signs have been there that it is simply one season too soon.
We just have to lick our wounds, regroup quickly, have a positive rebuild over the summer and go out and finish in the top two in 23-24.
Not going into the Championship with this group of players and under financial restrictions could turn out to be a blessing in disguise.
I said this a few weeks ago and the sentiment remains - this is where Warne’s work really starts.

Sums it up Kevin. Our failure this season was due to the games against MK Dons Fleetwood, Shrewsbury, Lincoln and so on. And I really would have expected us to get at least a win or two from the top 14 away from home. 
Warne’s one thing on his Cv is he’s got 3 promotions out of League one. It was a very big ask to get into autos this year especially ally given the form of the top 3. But to not even get into the playoffs is a failure from Warne of epic proportions

It’s not about today, we were good today apart from a scuffed back pass  
Warne told us that to miss top 6 would be failure. Some people seem to think our squad doesn’t support that statement but it does. It’s taken him 7/8 of the season to find the shape that best suits us. And we’ve played well only about 35% of the season. 
 
He needs to wear it. And apart from the financial consequences, it means the loss of Knight and Cashin, and more. 
 
Could have lived with not being promoted. But missing the play offs - not good enough Warne
