Henrycav81 reacted to Mucker1884 in V Shrewsbury Town (H) 4th March 15.00
Re comments about Didzy's booking:
The ref went to blow immediately... and with some vigour! It was a clear yellow card offence... but he just managed to hold back as he realised there was an advantage to play.
He double checked who the perp was, and kept his eye on where Didzy was for the first few seconds. I'm pretty certain there was also a gesture to let Didzy know what was coming.
I then commented to the guy in front that he'll get booked once the ball goes dead. It was all so obvious.
It then transpired that the ball stayed alive for a good long while, despite both keepers having the ball in their hands during this play, so he waited... and waited... and waited... as he should.
The ref didn't forget. And there was no surprise or complaint from Didzy when it came... he knew it was coming.
Ref got it all spot on, imo.

I only saw the second half unfortunately but Shrewsbury looked a decent side, not that it makes the result any easier to take after what sounds like an excellent first half display.
Can we please stop suggesting that referees and their assistants are part of an EFL plot to hamper DCFC? It's beyond embarrassing.

Henrycav81 got a reaction from Premier ram in Arthur Cox v Jim Smith
Gabbiadini’s second touch was usually a tackle, granted he had a decent season when we went up in 96 but wasn’t good enough for the premier league with us, I don’t think he scored a goal for us in the premier league and was sold
Goddard over Gabbiadini all day for me, the sale of Goddard was the beginning of our decline

You were only allowed 3 non EU players in your matchday squad so we had to pick 3 from
Poom, Stimac, Asanovic, Wanchope & Solis
usually it was Asanovic and Solis that missed out

Personally I wouldn't wish what we went through on any club. It's bigger than just the rivalries of fans, it's livelihoods, communities and history. No matter how much I might disdain some clubs, there are more important things than football tribalism and we should know that better then anyone.

Such a horrible story that'll be made even worse by the sad sacks who started all the BS stories about her husband not even stopping to think of the pain they caused.
Nor will it make them think twice about speculating and spreading rumours next time.
People can be sickening.

in the 80,s borrowash Vics had some lads play for the reserves, Ian grostate and Paul turner and maybe some others, having been associated with prims since 1981 I don’t like saying good things about vics?

I’m really looking forward to the new season,I think we’ll be really competitive in all forms.
As anybody any idea how many members we have for the upcoming season I believe we had the lowest membership last year at under 900.

I played with Dave Redfearn for grandstand over 35s, we had a 1/4 final in the Umbro national cup away at Scarborough, we had a bus leaving from the master locksmith pub when someone said where’s Redfearn, one of the other coppers in the team said we might not be seeing him for a while. He ended up spending some time at her majesty’s pleasure . I believe he’s since passed away

Henrycav81 got a reaction from Carl Sagan in There keep should been sent off
I’ve never understood all this wrestling to get the ball back quickly to the centre spot. It’s the opposition who kick off if they want to spend 10 minutes walking to the halfway line to do so they can, it’s up to the referee to add the time on which they invariably don’t Yesterday the ball would’ve got back to the centre spot quicker without the melee

It was a fabulous goal from Dobbin. Cashin raced to get to the ball to grab it and rush it back to the penalty spot, but the Wycombe keeper beat him to it and grabbed the ball. At this point the only thing to do is go back to the halfway line and hope the game restarts quickly. It's not our ball. It's theirs. They have the kickoff.
Cashin was riled, and got into a stupid altercation, enabling the keeper to waste time going to ground holding the ball. Cash's fault, but in the end he was sensible and withdrew. Then Collins was an idiot and ran into the fray and started a fight with their keeper to try and grab the ball (which is a Wycombe ball) out of the goalie"s hands. The ref was looking for an excuse to send a Derby player off all game. I would not have been surprised had Collins seen red. He shouldn't have been there. He should have been back on the halfway line.
