Time for another trip down memory lane, there is a lot of uncertainty around at the moment with the same old diatribe being repeated verbatim on all the social media sites so how about we post some of our favourite images of the old place, no need to wallow in glorification but we could do with a collection of photos, memories and pictures to remember those days gone by , Stevie Bloomer, FA Cup ties, penalty spots repainted, seats flying through the air like frisbees, big norm and Frannie Lee, juventus, Real Madrid, fans around the pitch v Fulham, Shaftesbury Ave, Cambridge St, The Baseball Hotel, Champions of England, Todd and McFarland, King Kev, Charlie, Wanchope, Clough and Taylor, Docherty, Arthur, The Bald Eagle, Van der Laan at the back post, Popside, Ossie End, C Stand, The Paddocks, Man United in the 79s man United in the 80s, Leeds, Chelsea, Dave Mackay, Champions of England again, bomb damage in the war
Embracing the past is not the same as being stuck in the past and at a time when the future is so uncertain what’s the harm !
For those of us that went to the BBG it’s not the sort of place you forget.
im thinking next year of recording some memories and uploading them to a virtual museum type website as pat of a Rams Heritage project, so thought would be good to test it out.

so now that Wayne has come out publicly and said that it is something that is part of the game plan surely all future managers will play to that, pushing forwards further forward when we have a goal kick, surely this would now be the time to actually punt it up to the half way line in the knowledge that the opposition is playing a very high line !! maybe using the speed of Ebosele to catch them flat footed on the break ?

Ever noticed the subliminal message hidden there for us all to see that we are looked after from above ?
any how talking of Christmas it’s time to start thinking about what you might get for that special someone, that person who has been with you through thick and thin, never gives up on you, never questions your love for the Rams that’s right … yourself, how about the latest version of the Colour of The Rams ?joking aside most of you know how much time and effort we put into this book, I am biased but the latest version that we updated in September is the best, included lots of new content based around the Racecourse years, we honestly make very little money from it due to Amazons high costs but they do make it simple for us, it’s done for the love of it and because it had never been done before and I had the shirts and Andy & Jason the knowledge.
it’s a kind of bible for Rams fans, a great way of picking up on some of our history and heritage in a more interesting way.
you can get a copy here, some of the other lads are enjoying it.

What about spending the entire 90 minutes doing something a little more constructive like getting behind the team and Rooney ? They are innocent in this debacle like us the fans, ok they get paid and they are just doing a job but a lot of the younger lads are having their futures put into doubt, players like Bird and Knight are going to find it very hard to get international call ups in division 1, and the EFL are applying the rules that we were supposed to adhere to, the fault with this lies entirely at the door of MM wherever that is nowdays !

All of these stories of the shirt swaps and late changes are in this fantastic book based on some anoraks Derby County shirt collection, well worth a read !

Do you know, I find this thread a refreshing tonic from all the shenanigans the club finds itself in currently so thank you for your contributions. ?
Now, maybe rules wouldn’t allow in those days but wouldn’t it have been simpler for Millwall to use their away kit that day and us to play in our black and white ?
Also, didn’t a similar thing happen elsewhere where we had to use another team’s kit ? I’m wracking my brain here because I’m sure I’ve seen a photo of us in another kit but I just can’t think of the match.
Edit...I’m thinking Archie Gemmill photographed playing for us but in another club’s kit. ?
And again for completeness, February 1975 beaten 4-1 by QPR

You probably know this bit Phil but the shirts and socks are red with Millwall badges. Millwall had not told Derby that they had changed their home colours from blue to white with blue trims. The Rams arrived with the B&W kit and this was how the colour clash was resolved.
This was the first time ever that a team in Millwall shirts clinced the Second Division championship. Millwall managed to it themselves in 1988.
Just for completeness

But, with the Rams already having clinched promotion in 1969, they went to Millwall on a Saturday where they were clapped onto the pitch by the opposition players. Their position as champions was assured with the only goal of the game coming from a Willie Carlin header in the second half. After describing the goal in the DET, George Edwards wrote that Willie would probably never score with his head again for Derby. But he repeated the trick just four days later when the Rams triumphed 4-1 against Norwich at Carrow Road. Then just 12 league games later he did it again at the BBG with his goal in the 5-0 win against Spurs, referred to above.

I have been told by a source within the club that the 21 point reduction has actually been reviewed under appeal to try and enable the purchase of the club to be speeded up and the administrators have been told that going forward we as a club must accept and adhere to certain restrictions.
We as a club and a fan base are to never mention ever again the names of Steven Bloomer, Brian Clough, Peter Taylor, Dave McKay, Roy McFarland, Colin Todd, Kevin Hector and Paul Jewell, all associations with the aforementioned are to be removed from our history.
The second and perhaps more contentious point is that we are to be stripped of our Two Division one Championship trophies, and the three latest second division champions titles, the Watney and Texaco trophies remain in discussion, Colin Todds PFA award is to be rescinded forthwith, The FA Cup is to be removed from our history as upon investigation it was found that the team that played that day was not a very ethnically balanced representation so therefore on ethical grounds it’s a no no.
The review around the scandal surrounding the club in the 1940s and early 50s was found to be very wanting and to be reopened and the assumed guilty parties will be reinvested and their non presence will be viewed as an admission of guilt leading to potential further point deduction.
the third and final sanction will be that the followers of Derby County will not be permitted to sing about Steve Bloomer, no mention must be made of Darryl Powell being a football genius, the bouncing must cease as that is viewed as an abhorrent offence to football in itself, the only chant that will be permitted is were by far the greatest team that the world has Never seen, in itself an apology and an admission that Derby County did not exist.
providing that all of that can be signed off before Christmas we should have new owners in by the new year hopefully with a decent budget.
seems a bit harsh to me !

Judging by the first photo, I'd say that @loweman2 was stalking him whilst he was on his holidays, and just happened to have the shirt for him to sign in the car ?
Always be prepared !
