  1. Anyone else still willing to give this time? Don’t seem to be many on the forum.

I don’t think we’ve been that bad (albeit I wasn’t there yesterday). Sounded like we had some good spells in the game though and we’ve had some brilliant performances (Peterborough, Blackpool)

Big squad turnover in the summer so willing to give it chance to come together. We’ve had some bad luck with injuries and decisions which will hopefully turn.

I think some of the anti-warne sentiment is the immediate anger of losing to so-called lesser clubs but, unfortunately, we were always going to lose games across a 46 game season so no need to panic

I'll tell you a little story, I'm a qualified referee, Passed my course in the 90s as A referee told me "if you think it's easy take a course" I did and refereed in the Derby Taverners League(Sunday Morning) You start at the bottom division and work your way up through good marks, I got to run the line in a Cup Final in my 1st year...not bad I thought, You may not be surprised how thick some players are when it comes to the rules, These are the ones who are out on the lash on a Saturday night...turn up Sunday Morning and still half cut and thought they were Paul Gascoyne 🙄

So my story is this, I was refereeing a game Between and older mans team and a younger mans team, The older players thought they could take advantage of the younger lads...only the younger lads were just as enthusiastic and wouldn't back down, One tackle by a younger player embarrassed the older player...the older player(who I knew)shouted for a free kick...I told him he's been at it all game and he got what was fare, He then decides to get in my face(big mistake)and called me a Bast**d, Not having it, So I nutted him, Blood and snot all over his face, A few choice words were spoken by him and the rabble on the side-line, Water off a ducks back as they knew who I was.

Nowt came of it, But that was the last game I refereed as I resigned from the leagues referees, I'm a big critic of officials, It's not an easy job...but some make a rod for their own backs at times by poor performances...no it's not an easy job, But they make it difficult by the performances...ie the Bolton game.

The referee last season I think it was Chelmsford...a female Ref, One of the best displays last season I saw...I wonder why🤷‍♂️

Did ADMINISTRATION cause us to sign Bradley, Elder, Washington et al? How many players has Warne chosen to sign? How many has he played out of position, was that down to administration.

There is now nothing wrong with this Club's finances for the level it is at - ask David Clowes, he confirmed that.

It’s only been 6 games, give them a chance to perform

  4. Reading this forum is really eye-opening for me. Helps me realise how it’s so easy for the Government to scapegoat immigrants and poor people.

People will literally search for anyone to blame for their inability to regulate their emotions after a loss.

Agree with many posters- Mel’s running of the club was catastrophic but not unlike a lot of Championship owners in the 2010s. Intentions were good, execution was poor. He’s not an evil man and deserves to be laid to rest.

Derby will lose more games again in the rest of their history. Sorry to have to break that to you guys

It makes you wonder where Kellyman would be if he'd stayed with us. Would he be in our first team?

Has AVFC's coaching really pushed him on because making your debut in a game of that magnitude and by all accounts close to MOTM, he's progressed a lot over the last 18 months.

Let's just hope this new coaching set-up we now have will start to produce more and better quality players.

He’d have 100 first team apps if he’d stayed at Derby!

If we can match the terms or at least get close to the terms being offered by Brighton I think he'd stay. Money talks.

I think if he had made it clear he wants to go and won't sign a new deal then he'd be gone already, and he wouldn't be starting games for us.

It's obvious by the way it's been said that the speculation has weighed heavily on him that he is torn on what he does next

You say you wouldn't if you were him but thing is, you are not him and none of us know what motivates him or what he has in mind. Will he join Brighton to be sent out on dubious loan moves across the country and eventually sold for a profit? Or is he going there to play football.

If I was a young footballer, I know that my number one priority would be playing football

I just think I’d be wary of signing a contract if I was a player, particularly if I had ambitions above my current club.

Like you say, Cash may well be happy at Derby but I’d be shocked to hear any young league 1 footballers not having ambitions to play leagues above.

Harry Kane is such a cautionary tale in signing a contract and expecting your club to sell you when a bigger club comes calling. They may not and you can’t complain as you signed it.

Ive said it before but I think the honourable thing, if you genuinely have ambitions above League 1, is to run your contract down

When the opposite happens and clubs sign a contract they later regret, pure hilarity can ensue as anyone who watched Jack Rodwell on Sunderland Till I Die will attest 😂

This will be clarified today one of two ways - either he goes or he signs a new contract

I don't think we can afford to turn down a 7 figure sum for a player out of contract at the end of the season. We need to make a big statement in our finances one way or another today and either raise our wage bill or get a windfall transfer figure in the books.

I really hope we can keep him, I think he is extremely valuable to our promotion aspirations and I hope there's room in the budget to give him a long contract.

Even our touted figure of 3m is not that much in today's football figures but its 3m more than we will get if we lose him at the end of the season

I can’t see why he would sign a contract with us. I wouldn’t if I were him.
I guess the only reason is risk of career ending illness/injury meaning he wouldn’t get a move next summer but that’s highly unlikely at his age

He's not exactly the type of high energy, high pressing forward that Warne seems favour, but you can't argue with his goals record at this level can you.

I'm not as against spending ~£1m on a 29-year old as some people seem to be, as long as it's for the right player.

The aim of the game is promotion after all and it's not like we've been paying transfer fees for any other 29+ year olds so I really don't see the comparison to our former ownership regime.

I don't see this happening, but at least it's going to potentially provide some "deadline day drama" for everybody.

This was my thinking. Warne talked a lot about running and sprinting in pre-season and being relentless in the press.

Watching JCH on Saturday, he barely seemed to move. Obviously, I haven’t seen his stats and he might have covered 14km but I tend to doubt it

He'll be a better player than Cashin, don't see all the criticism about pace he might not have the pace for a right back but he's going to make a solid CB or even CDM.

Id rather he went tbh. Really good player but the money would be nice and I never mind seeing derby youngsters playing at a higher level.

Annoying if admin leads to yet another player who we couldn’t tie down leavin for nothing

£25 to watch Stoke or £30 to watch Derby, I do have to ask you WHY.🫣

Sunderland tickets at Coventry last Saturday were £37 adults, £32 over 60s and under 21s and £25 under 18s.

Don’t worry, this terrible decision haunts me at night.

Not as much as greed in football does though

"We are led to believe that Blackpool are leading the race for his signature, which would be something of a double whammy for Derby, who also missed out on the signing of Jordan Rhodes ..."

"It means that Blackpool are set to make another statement signing. Last campaign he hugely impressed and, in the 2021/22 season, when he was operating as a wing-back, he scored an incredible four goals and provided four assists in the Championship, featuring in 35 games"

    🙄

Four goals and four assists described as incredible 🤔

It seems such a weird idea. Why didn't they play with regular teams? Zero interest.

I think they really missed a trick with the names. Could have been so much more relevant- what the hell has the Trent region got to do with Rockets 🤷‍♂️ Welsh and fire? It’s just lazy nonsense

definitely, he has silky skills.   the (only!) issues are his lack of pace and height. He looked so good when he first hit the scene esp playing outside fozzy in a back 4. I don‘t think PW’s set up suits him

His height doesn’t really affect him tbf. Wins every header

hes not quick, granted, but nor is Thiago Silva and he hasn’t had a bad career
