  1. I'm not a Mel apologist by any means, but I keep reading 'Mel conned us' as a regular comment in this thread. How did Mel con us? From my understanding he didn't con us as he thought the amortisation policy had been confirmed by EFL as acceptable.

    1. If the amortisation policy hadn't been accepted initially by the EFL, would Mel have carried on using it? - No I don't think so, we would have used the straight line policy as per EFL suggestions. BUT, there was no recommendation to use only a straight line amortisation policy.
    2. If the amortisation policy hadn't been accepted initially by the EFL, would there have been proceedings hindering any takeover process - possibly but that would have been down to the arbitration process related to the stadium valuation (which we were found not guilty of).
    3. If the amortisation policy hadn't been retro-actively deemed by the EFL to be unacceptable, would we have failed FFP in the years we did? - I doubt it, once we knew we were only to use the straight line policy we would have cut cloth accordingly.

The only thing we were found guilty of in the arbitration process was not making the footnote describing the amortisation policy clearer. But the arbitration process did conclude that this wasn't done in order to mislead.

I agree that Mel putting us into administration doesn't put him in the best of lights, and he didn't make the stadium sale public knowledge until after the fact, but to say he conned us is a bit over the top in my eyes.

  2. I wonder how much the cards themselves cost the club.

If I'm honest I'm happy to forego the card and keep printing them myself/using mobile tickets if it saves the club some cash.

Hoping they give us the option to choose so the less tech savvy fan can still get a season ticket card to make it easier for them to attend.

  3. Based on the appeal that Wigan tried a while back, I doubt an appeal against the 12 points would be successful. Wigan's appeal was dismissed on the following grounds:

“First, we are satisfied on the evidence we have seen that the Insolvency Event arose because Mr Kay, the effective owner, made a commercial decision to choose to go back on promises of continued support and stopped putting money into the Club. That cannot be regarded as a ‘Force Majeure’ event.".

That's basically what happened to us....Mel decided to stop putting money in each month, forcing us into an insolvency event.

I noticed that too. I only noticed 4 regulars where I was sat. The rest were new people. Maybe they didn’t get their reserved tickets in time. It took me and my step dad bloody ages to get them because the system kept unprocessing our order

I ended up catching covid during the last home match (I lead a boring life so definitely know it was there I caught it from). Having to isolate until Saturday so gave my season ticket seat to someone who could make use of it. I daresay there may be quite a few in the same boat.

No, the charge that has been satisfied in full is charge reference 0004 9139 0032 in favour of Barclays Bank PLC from 2015.

Sorry, my bad, you're right! Misread and was one number out!

Sorry this question has probably already been asked, but are they going to be sending out new ST's before the Stoke game or can we still use our old ones ?

I renewed weeks ago and not had anything through the post or any communication other than the initial confo email.

We still have to print out individually for Stoke, Reading and Swansea games. Or I believe you can request the individual tickets to be sent out to you via post if you don't have a printer.

  7. I don't particularly mind Ramstrust sending this letter out. I wish they would have proof read it a bit more though.

"We ask you to front up with fans and answer the following questions that concern the continued viability of the cub"

Just makes it feel a little amateur, especially with it getting some coverage from national reporters (such as Henry Winter).

As pointed out by a poster above, if you were going to renew your season ticket why wouldn’t you want a ticket for the forest game?! I get that some will have genuine reasons, work, weddings, holidays etc but surely not 9000.

It's not just reserved for the season tickets holders from 20/21 that didn't have a refund that the seats were reserved for. It's also the 20/21 season ticket holders that decided on a refund, and all the people who had 19/20 season tickets that didn't necessarily renew.

  9. I imagine the unused season ticket seats will be released at 12:30, so will have a better idea then on what is available. As it is currently there are one or two single tickets that keep appearing as peoples basket reservations expire.

The warm up kit is now on sale both in Megastore and online.

Tried a short sleeved top on this afternoon,  only got XXL, medium and small left in men's sizes, more choice in children's.

Do love it but don't want a top that comes down to my knees!

They also have the long sleeved zip up, only in size 3XL and only three of those

I get the impression they must have been selling very quickly as only in stock a couple of days. Didn't know when they are getting more in.

@angieramhave you tried purchasing online? It looks like they have S,M,L,XL and 2XL available for next day delivery (although I haven't tried to get through the checkout, it may be that they check stock later on in the checkout so apologies if you've already tried).

Also looks like you can potentially get 10% off by signing up to the newsletter. I'm also sure I saw somewhere that it was free delivery (but I can't remember where I saw it)

Am I right in thinking if I purchased for 20/21 the renewal is automatic?

I seem to already have the tickets if that makes sense? In which case do I assume a new card is on the way?

You will still have to print off individual tickets throughout September currently according to the FAQ, but yes you have automatically been given a 21/22 season ticket if you purchased the 20/21 season ticket and didn't ask for a refund.

On another note, one thing I am curious about is people (like myself), who paid for the 20/21 season ticket in installments. I believe I still had one or two installments to go to complete payment for the 20/21 season ticket when they cancelled the direct debit.

Assuming they're now not going to come out and ask us to recommence paying it, as this season ticket is classed as 'complementary' (which is probably how they're getting round the people complaining about paying more than they would have done if buying a new season ticket in the new seat category plan?

  12. I look at it as "Was I happy to pay the price I did for my 20/21 season ticket", along with "would I have renewed if the price of my season ticket was the same or slightly more this season".

The answer to both of those, for me, would have been yes. I'm happy for the people that are getting it cheaper this season. Hopefully it will encourage the crowds back!

Chad might be your best bet, as sage suggests. But I’ve heard that roads are becoming harder to park on, due to permit zones and unwelcoming residents. I’ve been thinking about where to park for this season too. Used to park at retail park, but they reduced the time to 2 hours on match days, which meant late arriving and mad dash just before full time!

Anyone who parks/lives in Chad know more?

We park in Toby Carvery car park in Chaddesden. Need to get there earlyish to make sure you get a decent spot though. Just means it's a good excuse to have a carvery beforehand (or when it's an early kickoff, a breakfast carvery)

Why have they got rid of the mobile ticket option ffs! Im not paying for them to send me a ticket as ive already paid for my season ticket , and i dont have a printer, get in the 21st century for gods sake!

You don't have to pay. This is on the faq for the boro and Forest matches

"There is a £1 postal fee per transaction; however, 2020/21 Season Ticket Holders will not be charged a postal fee when applying for their own home league match tickets on a match-by-match basis."

  15. Serious question, everyone seems to be reporting that a deal is in place for Harry Wilson for £12 million. However they are also reporting that they won't pay the first instalment until 2022 in order to circumvent FFP restrictions.

Will the EFL look at this with as much scrutiny as they did with us in the end. I doubt it, but surely anything that is done to 'get around' the FFP restrictions is against the spirit of the FFP rules?
