Last September I was playing football with my grandson, and hurt my knee. I didn’t bother the doctors because the knee gradually returned to near normal, but still quite painful at times. It was such a time I winced, and my wife “advised “ me to see the doctor, which I duly attended, knee examination, all OK, I asked for a PSA (having seen the information at Pride Park) check which he duly gave me the paperwork. The test came back 7.1, I’m over 70 so 6.5 is regarded as normal. I was dispatched to the Derby Royal, had the anal examination, ( for the first time) small lump found. In five weeks I’ve had a MRI scan,my prostrate biopsy done, and a QT scan, and I’m now on a hormone treatment plan. It appears they’ve caught the tumour early, and the prognosis is good, they say it will be eliminated. You do lose your dignity at times, but not going through that door and having the exam you could lose a lot more.
A shout out to the doctors and nurses at the Derby Royal, they have been absolutely terrific, informative, and very understanding, and caring.

HW is obviously a good player, great first touch, good range of passing and looks to have a goal or two in him. Like others he was bruised and battered at Barnsley but he will learn from it.
He isn’t going to replace Bird or Knight but he does offer competition for places in CM. If Hourihane needs a rest I would have thought HW would have the skillset to do the job.

Says a lot about the BBC when one tweet from a fan on his phone complaining about people on their phone makes an article!

It's not news... it's one fan who has made a silly tweet. You're going to get idiots in any society, and I'm not sure why the BBC would bother amplifying this. I know they've had the guts ripped out of their news division, but still, it's poor reporting.

Perhaps the title of thread could be changed to "Lack of sexism at PP". Been attending matches since 83/4 - never witnessed any sexist behaviour at any matches. All this from one idiot on twitter?

Or its both. Crewton points out how the ref applied the rules of the game differently to each side, especially in the second half. This is not a new phenomenon - it has been happening all season bar about 3 matches, and it has been a consistent match day feature ever since the EFL started to squeeze the trigger.
If the match officials only made occasional errors during a match, affecting both sides equally then you might have a point. I know we are all biased as possible, but they son’t inly make occasional mistakes, and they don’t affect the teams evenly. And this has been going on week in, week out, week in, week out for over 4 years now.

There is nothing we can do about it. - Rick Parry and his cronies have been supplied with mountains of evidence of what us happening, and all he does is send out a patronising, condescending letter telling ys thst match officials are trained to the highest standards and all perform well. ?
All we can do is go out and try and beat the opposition whether their team has 11, 12, 13 or 14 players.

Frustrating is the best way to describe yesterdays game. Frustrating that we didn't take some of the easier chances in that first half and put the game out of sight.
Frustrating that Fozzy spoilt his big day by having one of his brain fart moments. He deserved to have a faultless display after the way he's performed overall this season. He's forgiven and it's forgotten for me.
Frustrated we had another ref that wanted to be centre of attention. How many times did he stop us taking a quick free kick? Then he proceeded to let us take the free kick from the same place. ?
Frustrated that yet another team comes to Pride Park with their main objective being to time waste. Says it all when you have a man booked for time wasting when you're losing. Anyone else notice their player move the ball the whole of 6 inches several times whilst Hourihane waited to take a free kick in the 2nd half? A booking surely referee?
Frustrated we gave away a soft penalty. Looked like their player had no chance of reaching the ball anyway. Don't give the ref a decision to make should be the lesson learnt.
Amongst all that frustration, however, there were plenty of positives. Smith excellent at centre mid. Rooney, penalty aside was pretty solid for me, especially first half. Roberts solid again too. Dobbin a menace at times too, incredibly unlucky with his header. Just needs a bit more composure and confidence when shooting opportunities present themselves to him.

It amazes me the amount of home games where the opposing players get cramp when they’re holding on for a result. I really hate this league.

I’m just going to repeat this on here just in case the match day director of Derby reads this.
Get more of them, get them on the inside of the advertising boards (like most clubs do!) and get them to have the confidence to get the ball and give it back quicker (when we are winning).
Watching Korey Smith stand still for a ball because he’s too lazy for 30 seconds is painful and just makes it even less appealing for a spectator.
When you talk about the 1 or 2% where we can improve, we should be getting the ball back to our players instantly when we are drawing/losing.
I honestly just find it painful and numbing at time with how long it takes and add in the lack of a multiball system. Jesus. Just watching foreign games (Spain/Germany) how quickly the ball is recycled there compared to here.

What a good result - that will help our goal difference! Very tight in the bottom half of the table. Today's result (I think) means we leapfrog over NUFC.

RD view (had to make do with that today sadly due to childcare) was Dobbin did everything right and it was a brilliant save.

Frustrating today as first half sounded (and according to Warne and corroborated by my old man who went)  as good as we’ve played all season. In complete control deserved to be further ahead, then Fozzy’s mistake combined with wall not doing its job and game management first 15-20 mins of second half has cost us, the timing of the goal gave them hope and impetus and they went for it, despite that we then (after the Wildsmith save) created the better chances to win it. We will play far worst and win. Another day we’d have won that 4-2

While frustrating we haven’t really lost anything. Sheff wed are up, Plymouth not giving up and Ipswich according to RD were awesome today so look like they’ve got their act together. Our goal now is playoffs and we’ve lost no further ground to Wycombe. Due to the EFL imposed restrictions (harsh but we have to live them) and the takeover being completed as late as it was playoffs would be a more than credible achievement and once you’re in you have a chance. Overall we’re not IMO one the 3 best teams in this league but playoffs is about match winners and we have those.

I’m furious we chucked today away but keep the faith. Still nailed on for playoffs anyone who says otherwise is just overly pessimistic in defeat.

Oh the unfairness of it all. Can't be a good bit of whatabouttery either at the same time.
We got caught cos our old owner was that incompetent and inept so vent your spleen at him properly.
Anyway we've got what we got so whinging about it isn't going to change anything, we just need to suck it up and do what we're currently doing and get into the playoffs this season.

Yes, it was hugely frustrating that we had the game won at half time but let them back into it with some sloppy defending
    BUT
Sometimes you have to credit the opposition. A bit like Plymouth earlier in the season they came out with a more aggressive attitude and put us under pressure.
Fozzy and Cashin suddenly looked vulnerable.
We let the game deteriorate into hoofball and they were bigger and stronger.
We played some lovely stuff at times and scored two great goals.
In Dobbin we have one of the most skilful players in the league. Yes we is infuriating at times but he is exciting and we should help him.
    Entertaining stuff.

    Pathetic post.
They were poor in the second half (and Shrewsbury stepped up their game) but to call for the players to "hang their heads in shame" is ridiculous. I'm sure they're as disappointed as we are.

We’re doing very well with the hand weve been dealt.
for me this season and next has always been about getting through the transfer ban and restrictions that we’re always going to hamstring us.

as a club i cant honestly remember when we had a manager who was able to operate normally in a transfer window… cocu was it?
there will be better days ahead… i know that. Weve just got to get behind DC and PW and give them our all.
