A lot of that makes sense, but I see the BBC as a service, not a business. I think they should focus of educating, informing and challeging more vs the more business sense offerings like Come Dancing. They also need to drop extremists and shadowy think tanks from debates, in a flawed attempt to show both sides of an argument.
If you don't really consume much bbc content and bemoan the 12 quid a month cost, then think of it as a donation that allows loads of older folks to enjoy local radio about where they live. Or think of the worldwide prestige that the BBC gives us, with the increase of soft power it brings too.

Well it all seems very jolly to slag the BBC and the TV Licence until it affects something you like.

Derby County 4-2 Bristol Rovers Sat 29th Oct 2022. Attendance 27,841.
    McGoldrick 3, Collins 1.
The eldest lad and I enjoyed our trip for this game. Sat in the South Stand Upper in H.
Fri 18:45 Aberdeen to Edinburgh Megabus
Fri 22:40 Edinburgh to Meadowhall Megabus
Sat 05:43 Meadowhall to Sheffield Train
Sat 06:33 Sheffield to Derby Train
Arrived in Derby 07:00 and walked up to Pride Park in the dark and the light drizzle. Took a couple of photos and escaped the rain sitting down in Greggs. Made a move back into Derby but the heavy rain came down, so nipped into the Starbucks drive through and dried out. The lack of sleep on the overnight  megabus, caught up with my boy. Walked back into Derby and strolled around the shops, nipped into Waterstones with the intention of buying my mate the ‘Groundwork’ book, but nothing Derby related in the sport section, and with the Derby Book Festival on, pretty disappointing.
Met my mate in The Kitchen on Sadler Gate for Breakfast at 10am. Tried The Old Bell at 11am for beer but doesn’t open until 12, so popped to The Slug & Lettuce for drinks. Tried checking into the hotel at 1pm, but no joy, so enjoyed some more beer. Walked along the river about 2pm and was in Pride Park for about 2:15pm to hang the Aberdeenshire Rams flag up.
Enjoyed every second of the game and was really impressed especially with James Collins pressing and work rate and if every other player gives that commitment on a regular basis then we will get promoted.

Sun 19:15 Luton to Aberdeen Airport easyJet
Sun 21:00 Aberdeen Airport to Inverurie Car.
Home 21:30 and time to catch up with all the Derby County footage on RamsTV.
Another great weekend like the one I had with 2 mates 23 years ago, this weekend, when we drove down to Derby from Westhill via the Glasgow Barrowlands on the Friday night to enjoy Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros before arriving in Derby bang on 3pm to watch the Rams beat Chelsea 3-1.

lose 2 "i just can't see how this can ever get better, sack the manager, board out, execute the squad after forcing them to dig their own graves"
Win 2 "I cannot see how we can ever lose a game ever again, freedom of the city for everyone, we're premier league ready"
<repeat until finishing the season 8-10th>

I like most on here have watched years of football and seen thousands of players but sometimes you don't appreciate how good a player is until he plays for your team.
Nathaniel Mendez Laing falls into that category for me. I've always considered him a bit of a flighty player who is largely anonymous, a bit lazy but who might get you an occasional goal. Having now watched him for a dozen or so games I think that he is a quality player, with bags of skill, a team ethic and who isn't afraid to work his socks off. I'm surprised how many of our goals he seems to be at the heart of.
In my opinion he is probably our signing of the summer and if we are going to be successful it will be due, in a large part to him.

I disagree. The crowd starts off on side and up for it and as long as the team show something they’ll stick with them.

We were lacking in attacking threat throughout. Very little sustained pressure going forward ouside of the first and last 2 or 3 minutes.
Softest of soft goals destroyed us, again. Never a peno and they would have a had a red under VAR, but we got what we deserved over the 90. They're a decent side in bits and pieces of play, organised and hard, but it's a poor league if Plymouth and them are top 2.
I feel like we have the tools to compete with anyone, but we have a few glaring weaknesses and haven't helped ourselves under Liam or Paul by fitting players to a system rather than the system to the players. We've also been on the wrong end of a disproportionate number of poor decisions.
I'm still riding the wave of beling chuffed we have a club to support, and hopeful of top 6...but I'd love a little run of wins to give us belief.

Well, that was a thoroughly grim afternoon.
We've put together a squad to play keep ball, and we negated our strengths by playing hoofball and making it a scrap which we aren't equipped to win.
The ref was poor, but he got the big decisions right from what I saw. Haven't watched it back.

Probably worth recounting a little gallows humour about Derby & England.
There was I, sitting at Wembley for the Euro 2020 final, just before the pennos.  I randomly turn to the bloke next to me, to whom I’d not talked all match.
“Do you think we’ll win?” I asked.  “No”, he said, sadly, “I support Derby and we always lose here”.
Instantly, I knew both of us, and England, were doomed.

Very, very lucky to nick 3 points off West Ham.
10 goals against and 3 defeats against 3 relegation rivals.
Worse record than Derby in our, err, sub-optimal, prem season after 8 games.
    Manager deffo getting sacked tomorrow.
    Paid £150m for the privilege.
I'm quite enjoying this so far.
