Second in the league , 2 nd highest scorers ? , right up there with least goals conceded , that’s substance , fact , certainly more substance than ,,,,,, I don’t like how we play , I don’t think he’s the right man for us , I don’t like his interviews , I don’t like his hats , his 3 promotions mean nothing ect ect ect
don’t tell me ,,,,, best squad in the division best wage spend ect ect , I suppose by your yardstick city need to sack pep now and bring in somebody who will win the league with that team , not knocking round second and third place as any manager could and should be running away with the league with that squad at his disposal

I strive to be positive but wow, that second half was absolutely terrible. There has been some dross served up this season, but that was just appalling. Against a team who needed a replay to beat Cray Valley earlier this season. I don’t know how we can improve by Saturday, but we must. We are still second, we still have a great opportunity. We’ve just got to get a grip when we are ahead and stop throwing points away. We surely can do it. Am I hopeful?? Always. Are my expectations high?? Alas, not tonight. But if we win on Saturday I will be positive again. Let’s all keep going.

Managers and players make mistakes and have bad nights. Tonight Warne and the players were culpable of that. It’s part and parcel of football. Every team has a wobble. This is ours.
The question is whether Warne and the players can recollect themselves and show their mettle. We can’t afford a repeat of last season’s run in where we tripped up horribly.
Warne really needs to set on an XI and put some faith behind it. At the moment, he seems to be experimenting and seeing what sticks and that is a concern 35 games into the season, even considering all of the injuries.
The players also need to stand up and be counted. They are making the kind of errors and missing quality and nerve, which backs up the thinking this is not a top two team.
However I think tonight shows that it will be a long eight weeks for everyone in the mix. We won’t be the only ones to drop the ball and have off-nights. There are going to be twists, turns, trips and falls and the picture will change dramatically game after game.
We need to see a big response and rebuild momentum. We can’t keep giving the teams around us lifelines. Barnsley and Peterborough will feel buoyed after tonight and Portsmouth are beginning to look out of sight.
All that being said, I don’t get the calls for Warne to be sacked though. It’s plainly unrealistic and unachievable. Some simply have to buckle up and enjoy the ride because our fortunes are going to fluctuate from week to week and while everything is still up for grabs, Warne still has time to learn from mistakes and put things right.
There is still so much life in the season and there’s ample opportunity for us to bounce back. Tonight was a setback but a big win v Port Vale gets us right back on track.

Pragmatic is a choice word that a lot of people use, but by very definition I find it is actually synonym for how Warne approaches football strategically.
Pragmatic, to me, would be more Rosenior - with Cashin playing 140-odd passes backwards and sideways, attempting to move players out of position. Safe, controlled, usually with limited risk.
Warne beats the drum of chaos, nothing about how we approach games is controlled and therefore can’t at all be described as pragmatic.

The best bit is they way they refer to themselves as a seemingly smaller club than Everton .  You are, as is everyone in England bar about 6 or 7 clubs.  Bunch of ego driven cockwombles relying on DeMarco and Luton to save their arse after all their halo bothering three years ago.  Two fixture lists incoming.

We have great crowds every week which rarely drop below 26k (and mostly well above) despite "the football".
If its were going to drop off,it's taking a long time,he's been here nearly two seasons.
The doommongers and anti warne brigade live in their own world on this forum,I'd be surprised if many actually go the games.

    a) Attending football matches is not compulsory. If you don’t enjoy it, perhaps try doing something else on a Saturday afternoon. I promise you, you won’t be missed.
    b) This is utter nonsense. We are second in the League. Any fan who works as part of a team that is second best out of 24 is not losing their job. They are probably getting a large bonus. The job of the players is to get us promotion. They may or may not achieve it, but they are on track so far.
    c) May I ask what you were expecting for this season?? Win most games 5-0 and cruise to promotion?? We have only been promoted automatically once in the last 37 years, and now we have a great chance to make it twice. Two more away wins would make this our best away season ever. 20 more points from the last 12 games would make this our best season in modern times (in terms of total points and points per game since 3 points for a win; I’m not equating it to winning the entire League). We may not achieve that but goodness me, if this is the most negative you’ve ever been then I don’t know what to tell you. But it’s definitely a you problem, not the problem of the current players, manager and owner.

Now is not the time to panic, we need to get behind the team as we head into the final stretch of games.
4 of Pompey's next 5 games are against top 8 teams so if we want to close the gap this is our chance especially with our game in hand.
In that same period we play 6 games with 4 at home, Bolton being the only top 10 team. Bolton play 6 games, 4 away from home & 3 vs the top. Barnsley have 5 games, 1 of which is Bolton too but their other 4 are winnable games for them.
It could end up going down to goal difference the way it is shaping up.
