And this right here is the crux of everyone's argument. Judge him the same way other players get judged. Who seemingly get to play out a bad performance and still start the next game, often for many games in a row. They don't have to score or assist to keep their place when Sibley does.
Someone mentioned Bradley earlier in this thread and it was a decent comparison. He was atrocious at the start of the season. Up there with one of the worst defenders I can remember. Yet he's played a couple of competent games now because he's been allowed to and suddenly people are anointing him - and this isn't a knock on Bradley, this is just the fact he's allowed to play through a bad game to then show he can play. Hourihane... regularly bad. Collins... regularly bad. Smith.... regularly bad. List goes on, and this is just this past season or so.
Just seems like players come in, be below average and that's fine, they keep playing until they show some worth. Sibley gets judged on a whole different scale by absolutely everyone. I think the days have gone where we thought we had a world beater on our hands, don't get me wrong, but a player who can score like he can from midfield positions could be worth their weight in gold at these levels... so let's find out what we have once and for all and stop bombing him out after a bad 45 minutes.

Why was he dropped for Elder?   Sibley had played fine - not always great but then Bird, Collins, Hourihane etc all have quiet games and keep their shirt.
Bradley is now hailed as the next Igor because he hasn't f'ed up for a couple of games by the same people saying Sibley hasn't done enough.

It may or may not be Warne's fault but that doesn't mean it's nobody's fault.   We needed a striker and we didn't get one.   If we'd put the CBT money towards, for example,  Chris Martin that to me would have made more sense.   I don't want to go on about it because it's done now but it's not as if the need for a striker is only being seen now we went into the window with most saying that's the priority.

It's crying out for 433 with Collins flanked by NML and Wilson.   Why Warne p*sses about with formations so much God knows no wonder there are no recognisable patterns of play.

We looked much better in a 433.
Hopefully we'll be back to the Nyambe, Nelson, Cashin and Fozzy defence for the run in, with Adams being more match fit.

Thanks for the info re offsides. It is much appreciated, and says that we have much work to do on the training ground about stating onside. Warne doesn't necessarily stand on the touch line waving everybody back into our own half, so no, you wouldn't have seen him doing it. But it happens so often after we've got our goal that it has to be more than a coincidence, and it has to be more than the opposition suddenly upping their game immediately after going behind.
And I have to disagree with you about booing. I most certainly didn't hear any booing of the Rams at any point in the match. I suspect some of it may be the way the fans have taken to Adams, with a "chant" similar to the one we gave Martin Poom, which does sound like booing. Apart from a half-hearted go at the ref as he and his accomplices left the pitch, who had tried to time their exit for when we were still applauding the players at the end. But they even got that wrong. But that was all, as far a I am concerned. What was there to boo? a single miskick by Bradley, and one bit of poor defending? Naff all, really.

trappatoni reacted to Ghost of Clough in Has DC lost faith in the recruitment process?
The process used for this season will need to be overhaulled. 12 summer signings and a further 2 in January, of which only 3 are likely to be regular starters is absolutely shocking (Nelson, Nyambe, Blackett-Taylor). This is also after the squad failed to place top last season, losing 3 of our first 11 (Roberts, Knight and McGoldrick) and not even having a right back in the entire squad.
It's summarised by having no long term vision. That's in terms of: a) bringing in younger players who will either maintain their current standards for longer, or have room for improvement; or b) planning how the players will fit into the team.
Warne put a clear focus on older and more experience players, based on the rationale of higher wages equates to better players. If more budget is put towards the wages, we'll end up with a stronger squad of players.
Warne also had no plan on how to fit the players into the team. This is demonstrated by early summer recruitment being with 3421 in mind, which quickly changed to 352, and then alternating between 442 and 4231 during the season so far. We signed a LB (Elder) to play as a wing back, but also signed Nyambe (RB) after already signing 2 wing backs. He also signed a slow CB who cannot play in a high line and is uncomfortable on the ball under pressure. We've basically got through from October with only 1 fully fit forward whowas 2nd choice last season and failed to improve on in the summer AND January.
The style of play our CF targets prefer also varied. Summer targets like Harris, Rhodes and Sharp all have different strengths and weaknesses. Similar with January targets such as Smith, Gregory, Mubama, Ennis. It's just a scattergun approach all round. Most of these targets compromise on the high intensity press Warne wants to implement too.

People need to stop blaming finances.   However much money we have we have chosen to spend it one way rather than another.    The wages spent on some of our ageing signings who have barely contributed could have gone on loans.  We are the outlier in not doing that.

You say that but Adam Bolder seemed to think that would be a factor for some players.
It's part of the package - some players will care about the size of the club, some the style of play, how far away it is and of course money.   Young loanees might even look at how much game time Osula et al got.

I watch every single game and pay to do so. I go to pride Park when I'm in Derby just to see it even when we're not playing. I used to get the train from Cornwall to Derby at the age of 15 with my mate who was the same age, watch them and then travel home.
I don't care about watching Any other team, England included. I don't even watch MOTD anymore because unless Derby are in the prem I'm not interested. Derby is football to me, and I never miss a game, even when in hospital with my new born, I still watched. I keep upto date every hour for anybit of news, I live and breathe this club, so don't tell me to "support the lads" because it's all I do unfortunately. So if I have an opinion or assumption, and a fair one at that, I'll definitely be inclined to share it.
