As a mildly interesting story about white boots, my brother ordered a pair of white boots identical to the ones above from an advert in "Charlie Buchan's football monthly".....in the days of enclosing a postal order with your post. Weeks went by with no boots delivered and we got in touch with Derbyshire Trading standards, or "weights and measures" as they were known then. After much pestering by them, a pair of boots finally arrived BUT without the much in demand Hummel stripes....Trading standards took them to court on our behalf and my brother got the boots for free........they were still decent boots, but no stripes so just not "sold as advertised"
As hor Hinton...what a player. I think Hector also played a small number of games in white boots before Hinton but I may be wrong on that one.

Alan Hinton has always been interested in and appreciative of the work I put in to preserve the history and rich heritage of the club going back a long time so it was a great surprise to hear from him that he wanted to send over his iconic match worn, signed white Hummel boots from the early 1970s.
He was one of the first to go against the grain and you had to have confidence in your ability to stand out to that extent, he did of course have ability in abundance and could ping in a cross from any angle with either foot, he was also top scorer in the Championship Winning season in 1971-72.

Now that would serve him right. Jumped ship at Wigan so as not to play in the third tier. Signed for Derby only for them to be relegated to the third tier. And then he signs for Birmingham City, probably the biggest basket case club in the EFL at the moment who wouldn't surprise anybody if they dropped to the third tier! Or maybe he's placed a bet that he can be relegated at three successive clubs?

Knight’s been a victim of his own versatility and the continued recruitment strategies of the club. Lots of people observe he seems to be a Jack of all trades, master of none type but I wonder would he excel if he played consistently for us in central midfield? Bird, Hourihane and Knight as a three could be interesting, passing and control from Hourinane and Bird, energy and forward drive from Knight in a more box to box role. All three can press and tackle a bit, only thing they’d be giving up on some teams would be physical strength and maybe a bit of height, but if you can out run and out pass the majority of opposition midfields you’d probably get away with it. 
Knight, as we know, has a good engine on him and can run and run, he’s also scored the odd goal. Give him time in a central midfield role, let him work on timing his runs into the box and I think he’d flourish. Sadly I don’t see that happening anytime soon, but I can dream.
It’s not what Rosenior will pick but I’d like to see this as the lineup assuming there are no further additions other than Forsyth confirmed. I’m also aware Bielik probably won’t play;

I was not to impressed by lecester city we played some lovely football at times and there 2nd goal was offside but our goal was best goal of the day.

Oduroh with a blind punt of a pass, straight to the Leicester forward, good save from Wildsmith but rebound put away by the bloke with the ridiculous hair.
