I'm looking forwards to the difference Adams will make until the ref sets out to book him for daring to bring a bit of steel into our midfield, whilst allowing Stevenage to wander around whacking us with lead pipes.
I am expecting this to be really ugly, but look to a touch of class here or there to swing the match in our favour. Decent match officials would be nice, but we've had one set this season already, so that's that then.

I've seen at least 3 stonewall penalties that he should have been given this season, where he's been assaulted at a set piece.
I'm hoping that when we play one of the other teams at the top, we will get a better referee that has the gumption and fortitude to make that big decision.

Stupid from Wednesday unless they plan on making him a 1st teamer next season if they go down.
I know all clubs play hardball and want the best for themselves but Weds seem barmy at the moment.

What bit of "We are under an EFL-agreed business plan, which was a condition of us coming out of Administration" do you find so difficult to comprehend?

Maybe he knows players at Derby and they told him the fans often behave like spoilt babies, even when in the hunt for automatic places - who knows?

It's always those with knee jerk reactions that are the loudest.  Up until the errors we were well in control and cruising.  It's alright folk moaning about Warne not reacting to their changes, but it's not like they stuck 5 up front, they simply changed a couple of players (and maybe) told those coming on to be a bit more positive.  It's not like they unlocked us with peak Barcelona tiki-taka either, they were gifted to them...

    ATG
31Vickers...5.5.....not a lot to do but didn't look confident doing it. Wildsmith has a bit of Schmeichel about him - makes mistakes but body language is always rock solid. I'd be tempted to swap back on Sat if I were Warne.
2Wilson.....7.5.....bit of a cheat code at RB against a weak team. Loads of decent crosses and always trying to be positive.
35Nelson.....8.....bit of a league 1 Virgil van Dyke now....he knows he's going to win everything, forwards know he's going to win everything and he wins everything. Half point off for backing off on their first goal.
    6Cashin......7.5.....excellent again
20Elder......3.5......half point for the cross on the second goal. Stray passes, vertical headers, lamentable defending and a reluctance to cross ( 2 last night compared to how many from Wilson?) I genuinely hope he comes good, and second half v Posh gives some hope but expect Sibley to play on Saturday
17Sibley.....6.5....added much needed composure at LB. Expect him to play there on Sat.
11Méndez-Laing......6.5.....did loads of really really good stuff and was overall excellent -  but full point off for doing lollipops in our half for their first goal. Whether it was a foul or not, it was a bit of unnecessary flashiness in a bad area and complete momentum changer
8Bird.........7.....nothing flash but worked very hard in what was often a 4-2-4 formation. Quietly decent.
4Hourihane.....7.......loads of examples of excellent quality. Bit of a white knuckle ride playing him in 4-4-2 or 4-2-4 but I'm very glad he plays for us and not a L1 rival. Doesn't hide - proper quarterback performance in last 25 when they dropped back
7Barkhuizen.....7.5......can't believe what I've read on the matchday thread. Other than scoring the first, making the second (with 2 involvements) and winning the ball back for our third what did he contribute?  Nelson was my MOTM but Sky love goal involvements.
    5Bradley......6
19John-Jules....5.5....clearly talented and made some very useful contributions but when I see JC sprinting past him to get on the end of something in the box in the second half then I see someone who hasn't made it and isn't busting a gut to make it. The Burton sub looked much hungrier.
    16Thompson.....6
9Collins.......7.5.....another very good performance. Benefits from having players around him rather than being lone striker. Arguably our single most important player at the moment.

I think the negativity is based around the quality and style of football they are seeing. Not been great. But they say beating teams when not playing well is the sign of a good side 😊

Possibly because they’ve taken a dislike to certain players and/or management (even hate with a passion in one case) and no matter what, to perpetuate that level of dislike, they have to go searching for any fact/statistic which might help to validate their point of view?

Xg versus gut ,,,,,, watched the game on rtv and my gut was it was only a matter of time before we scored and went on to win , solid at the back , much more organised of late with a confidence and determination building in the team , the players and management reaction at the final whistle was a joy to watch and very far from the picture of a group of players being told to play in a way they don’t want and not really on board with the manager ,
warne recruitment,, well again it shows real promise for the job in hand , Nelson, nyambe, Wilson ( twinkle toes ) , fornah,
hourihane and smith are getting dogs abuse from some ( unfairly in my view) , they are in my view rosenior players that bring plenty to our team but some want them out for more mobile athletic in they’re view warne type players ,
patience that some have been calling for is the key , let’s see how the team develops , we are progressing and in my view look stronger throughout the squad than last apart from maybe mc g and his best ever ever season

Tired of endless replays for VAR?
No longer enjoying goals for fear of them being ruled out seven minutes later?
Then come to Pride Park in good old League One!
Rediscover the joy of calling officials a cant, a nib jacky or a winker as they make good old-fashioned mistakes.
No sign of technology being used, except from the morons who forget they’re at a live event and live their life through their phones.
No place here for Lineker and his tired old chums trying to decide whether having your shorts flap slightly closer to the goal gives you an unfair advantage.
Gasp as the ball reaches some eighty feet in the air, revel in the expert time-wasting and become one of many fans more expert than the managers.
You’ll never go back to Premier League and its robots.

I love it when we win. It's always fun to read all of the reasons why we shouldn't simply enjoy a narrow win against an in-form team on a day of respect for one of our most dedicated fans.
In a nutshell: the first half was even; our build-up was much too slow; when we created promising situations, players fluffed their lines. Second half we generally dominated the opposition, looked far more dangerous going forward, showed great character to create the winning goal and were good value for the win in the end.

I thought it was alright, not a classic and not as bad as some are making out, I posted during the match there were some promising moments of build up particularly down the left with Sibley and NML involved but the lads just didn’t find that final ball or bit of composure.
On reflection I think my biggest frustration is how profligate we are from set pieces, but I love a scrappy, hard fought win (or any Derby win for that matter) and that’s what we got.

Never served, always donate to the Appeal via the Neppy. I remember on my first visit to the Netherlands aged 21 or 22. Visited the War Cemetery in Arnhem. Seeing the ages of the fallen brought tears to my eyes. They were almost all younger than I was and had made the ultimate sacrifice. I, for one, will never forget them nor the sacrifice they made.
I would dearly love to see everybody in their seats a good while prior to kick off today and to appreciate the ceremonial happenings. That last pre match beer/cola/pie/burger.... that can be taken a little earlier than usual. IMO, not being in your place by 10 to 3 today would be showing total disrespect to the fallen.

This stopped me wearing one for a while (always still chucked a couple of quid in the donation tin but never took the poppy). Sick of seeing tw4ts like Tommy Robinson and his thick followers hiJack something beautiful for their own means.

… but then I went and visited the battlefields in France and Belgium. The cemeteries, the monuments and heard from survivors. Made me realise we need to wrestle back the poppy from the likes of Robinson and those EDL mugs.

Don’t agree with forcing it on the whole crowd though. Imagine being a derby fan who flies in from Derry each match to find you’re smack bang in the middle of a poppy. Particularly if you’re old enough to remember the early 70s.

Got so fed up reading this rubbish that I decided to pop over to last year's Round One thread, where people will recall we drew with a team at the bottom of the National League, for a comparison.
Some things don't change, but we had less possession,  many less shots and were much more rubbish than yesterday.
We scored our two goals there very much against the run of play.
A few days later, we drew (lost on penalties) away at Liverpool and all was well again. That's football.
