IslandExile reacted to Bris Vegas in Don’t be too dismayed Rosenier ball is still painful
Rosenior’s last game in charge:
Yes, it was excruciating watching Derby dominate the ball and pepper the opposition goal with shots.
Give me long, rushed chaotic forward passes, 40% possession and one shot on target over that rubbish.

Whichever one sees him gone.

More happy for PW to stay knowing Billy Davies and Colin free

I like the polls, because we can only vote once in each one. Whereas some posters want to tell us a hundred times on each thread why PW should stay/go, they still only get one vote in the poll.
It's the most accurate reflection of where the feeling of the broader membership of the forum is on a particular issue at any point in time.
I haven't changed my vote between the polls so far.

Clowes would have to weigh up the immediate cost of sacking Warne and his team vs the potential future financial impact on not winning promotion and the lack in development of our academy players.

Well I think players on fringe players a chance to stake a claim but also under 21s to make a push into our 1st team I would love another look at that brown lad and chaire lindsay lad we signed from Rangers in the summer perhaps Bradley johnson could stake a claim as we are missing some muscle in midfield.
Maybe some could be used into first team until we get reforcements into first team.

I see Mrs Warne has voted.
EDIT: I was going to say Paul, himself, but I'm less sure how he would vote.

Warne was Clowes' first managerial appointment so I do not think he'll rush into admitting his mistake and getting rid.
I'm afraid we may be stuck with this turgid football for the rest of the season. Furthermore, we'll probably lose Bird and Cashin in January and replace them with older players that cannot run about like Warne will want.
We'll lose season ticket holders for next season so the budget won't be as good even after any imposed EFL business plan has elapsed.
We may lose some of the academy starlets who would rather have a career playing football.
And so it goes on....

12 permanent managers...
Davies: 2006-2007
Jewell: 2007-2008
Clough: 2009-2013
Mac1: 2013-2015
Clement: 2015-2016
Pearson: 2016-2016
Mac2: 2016-2017
Rowett: 2017-2018
Lampard: 2018-2019
Cocu: 2019-2020
Rooney: 2020-2022
Warne: 2022-2023
Since sacking managers has "got us where we are", it's a shame didn't give Jewell more time as we'd be playign in Europe by now... Or Pearson.. or even Cocu... sometimes you just need to get rid of managers who aren't taking you anywhere.

IslandExile reacted to Ghost of Clough in Who enjoys Warne's football poll?
The U21s played on a Saturday one last year - vs Villa in October.
It was me who requested a few questions on the academy via email. Not to catch Warne out, but in the hope of easing some of the concerns I had. Those questions related to watching U18/21 games, what's he doing to get the youngsters into the first team, and should more be used last season to avoid burn out.
As a reminder of what was said, these are the notes I made from the Fan Forum:
How can someone who doesn't know which age group he's watching, what the scores were, and who the players are, be the man to judge if these youngsters should or shouldn't be given first team games?

This is very worrying.
For both the short and long term future of the club, PW needs to be taken out of the club sharpish. This isn't an overreaction, this really does need to happen asap.

IslandExile reacted to BondJovi in Who enjoys Warne's football poll?
I know Cocu has his haters, but I loved his willingness to give the younger players a go. On occaision he chose a youngster to bring on over an experienced player, and not always in easy situations. I cannot see Warne doing that. Players in the U18s/ U21s need to see that there is a path. I don't understand the reluctance to use something which could save us a lot of cash and potentially generate a lot. I haven't understood that for a lot of Derby managers. I am not entirely convinced Warne takes that side of the club seriously. Bless him.

Death by passing to our own guys beats death by passing to their guys.
LR wasn't amazing but you could see what they were trying to be and they weren't that bad at being it, and LR gets credit for putting the squad together after the admin as well as sticking with the club through the admin and it was his first gig as the head coach (OK interim audition period, but he was doing the job until he wasn't).

It was if Eustace went to Rangers.
Wayne is not doing so well in the US.
Someone put it brilliantly on this forum the other day: "Rooney wasn't a great manager but he was a great figurehead, at a time when we needed a figurehead more than a manager".

Thanks didnt know where came from as made no sense Brum would swap Eustace for Wayne! Yes that quote perfectly sums up
