The point is the likes of Cashin will learn more playing alongside Jagielka or Davies. The older pros will be coaching the youngsters throughout the game.
Preparation isn't just getting game time, it's about being coached.

    Thanks mate
I had to fight for everything I have but right now club need us to fight for them and with them.
One thing every should respect cocu said about if pick on one of us and then you fight all of us.

IslandExile reacted to Ghost of Clough in Derby finally accept 21 point deduction.
Well we lost about £136m between 14/15 and 20/21 whereas Reading lost £57.8m between 17/18 and 20/21.
We failed three periods by a total of £21.5m. They failed 1 period by £18.8m.
I think I said yesterday that we should have had 21 points deducted. They should have had 12 points. Both have basically had that punishment halved.

It's a fair point, one I wasn't really considering in that line up and I think you are probably right.
I still think we want to be relatively close to something like that line up though as I think it will give the best most benefit in the longer term.

We can buy who we want, we're Derby County and Mel has the EFL on strings.

owner Steve Gibson’s claim for around £45m is still to be addressed.
They feel Derby’s financial irregularities helped deny them a play-off place in 2019 after the Rams pipped them to the top six by just one point.

Perhaps surprising for a club that has effectively been relegated as early as November, but I sense a really positive shift in the mood of supporters since the news of the additional points deduction broke this morning.
Fans are already starting to look forward to a new set of away grounds next season, they're discussing which youngsters may break into the side and establish themselves. I've even seen a couple of posters say they may start going to matches more often.
People are starting to look forward again....
Forward to a time when it's the football on the pitch that matters. That's why we support the club. That's what we want to think about, talk about, dare to dream about.
We still need an owner to take over the club - that's crucial, of course. But I believe it's all starting to look a lot brighter. We're leaving the crappy stuff behind and returning to being a football club.

If you're preparing for League One - or whatever - you still have to have a blend of experience and youth.
Cashin will learn a lot more playing alongside Jagielka or Davies than he will having Brown as a partner.
Kids alone would just get thrashed week in, week out and it would destroy them.

    Fair point.
It was really an example of what lineup we could start putting out. However, as you say, it still has to be gradual and tailored to individuals.
I'd like more game time for Watson, Williams and others aswell.

Agree with the comments - of course, we are very far from letting off the handbrake of celebration - and getting an owner in place soon is paramount.
But, even through the hesitancy of the posts, you can see glimmers of what I am referring to.... The talk is of whether we can attract players, keeping the manager, is Wayne the right man for the job anyway.... That's all football stuff. Football.
That's not points deductions, transfer embargoes or debts to HMRC. We're starting to talk football again.

Do you mean parking in Cheltenham? Going to be a fair few firsts for many an away day fan at least.
To be honest, I’m with you, right now I’m fed up with the saga dragging on, so as much interest in hearing who’s to blame, as Ed Dawes rambling on about trains and everything else not happening on the pitch when he commentates.
Some at the EFL might be a little smug how they have imposed their “justice” on us, doubt they will look at themselves much as it’s not in their character or nature, so sod them.
Time to move on, let’s see who’s coming in as owners, what their rebuild plans are, will Rooney stay as part of that, which players will commit to at least one season should the highly likely relegation to league 1 occur. Who we are going to sign to replace them, what type of player we need to suit whatever style of play Rooney or whoever adopt to try and get us back up.
Cant wait for this to all move on now.

Think it's done now to be honest. No point rehashing it now our fate is sealed. Most will want to move on I suspect. God knows it's been a grim 2 years for all sorts of reasons and dwelling on this won't be an uplifting experience for anyone. That said, I think most Rams fans are pretty resilient creatures and will dust themselves down, lift their heads and get on with supporting the club, least I hope so! There will be better times ahead and while we may not storm L1, I'd hope we'd win more than we'd lose. There'll be some fun days for sure ?

I should also say - as someone who has been pretty vocal in attributing a fair bit of blame to our previous owners - I don't think the EFL has covered itself in glory. The whole system stinks: football basically doesn't work, financially, outside the Premiership. There's a complete disconnect between the Prem and the rest of football. And rather than any kind of benevolent independent oversight the whole thing seems to be run on the basis of 'Yeah we all know it doesn't really work, but just don't take the **** and we will pretend it's all fine and functional'. At best the EFL is curbing the worst excesses while turning a blind eye to the underlying issues. We messed up, I can't really defend the way we were run - but it's not like we were one bad apple in an otherwise perfectly healthy batch.
