  1. That was a terrible watch. But just a bad day at the office, forget about it and on to the next. For every high ( Bolton game) there has to be a crushing low. It’s the Derby way, MM taught us that 😳

We were never going to win the remaining 7. Rather lose now and come back with some fight for the remainder. There wouldn’t be anything more Derby County than losing to Northampton and Blackpool only to beat Portsmouth.

  2. There could be many re-joisting at the possibility of this one and singing from the rafters if it happens. He was a Leeds player though, would he get a clean slate here? It’s not like his career is in the gutter just yet despite his injury record. Could give our other forwards a breather membrane up top and offer plenty of cover across the front.
Our defence isn’t looking too leaky. Let’s wait and see whether this comes to fruition or slips down the drain.

  3. Enjoyed having Rooney at the club. Scored some memorable goals. Who actually thought we’d ever see Wayne Rooney play for Derby?? Certainly not me.

Also did a brilliant job at galvanising the team through a very turbulent, memorable period. How much of it was managerial know how and how much of it was an us against them attitude resonating through all the fans, staff, players etc for him to get carried along on? Whoknows. But there were some brilliantly, memorable, lasting moments.

The late come back and last minute Bielik equaliser against Birmingham…amazing. The towering header from Curtis to grab a late equaliser away at Reading and ensuing celebration something akin to Marco Tardelli…awesome.

Despite it all, there were some moments last season I enjoyed nearly as much as our away win at Leeds in the play offs, and Rooney played a huge part in that. For that, and for nearly achieving the impossible, I’m truly grateful for.

Don’t hold it against him for a minute that he resigned or took another job (whatever the case may be) after enduring what was it, 3 failed takeovers?? 4 failed takeovers?? I’ve genuinely lost count. I wish him all the best and hope to see him back here one day in an opposition dug out.

We have Rosenior now. We actually have some players too. We have a club. So good luck and thanks Wayne, see you on the way back up ?

  4. He could be decent, maybe just need giving an extended run of games. Rosie obviously see’s something in him.

On the flip side, pretty sure there some people wondering why we’d signed Allsop who didn’t have the best reputation for a safe pair of hands. Did a pretty good job in the end for us mind

It takes you 5 seasons to have a crack at the Champion's League? Also don't get ageing players unless on a free and you plan to sell them immediately.

Yes, I purposely got us relegated to League 1 for the realism value just to keep in tandem with current events ?

And Messi cost about £30million but he’s got 12 goals in 4 games so far and still £100m in the transfer kitty ?. S’all good

We've paid Tom one heck of a lot of money while he's been here. And a lot of the time, I've not been his biggest fan tbf. But last year, I liked him. Took me a long time I'll admit. Anyway...

We should offer him whatever is our new max salary limit. AND THEN THIS...

    1. He's free to leave if we receive an offer of £1m plus (or something like that)

    2. We give him a % of the sale value (say, 30%)

That way, he can play football with us, bide his time, pocket a huge amount of cash when he leaves, we pocket some cash, he helps us out financially and everybody's happy.

    What could possibly go wrong?

    Scenes if he stays though

  7. Needs a good run of games in his preferred position not cameos and occasional starts when we’re either chasing the game or he’s playing down one of the flanks in my opinion. Get him down the middle.

I’m speaking from experience. He’s currently 88 rated in my fifa 20 career and we win the premier league in 2025 with Sibley scoring 30 and assisting 20 odd. We then sign an ageing Salah, Messi, Van Dijk, Saka and Luke Shaw for a first attempt at the champions league after winning the europa league the season before. It’s on lads, you heard it here first ?

Our friends at the EFL didn't take long to point out we remain under embargo.

    https://www.efl.com/news/2022/july/efl-statement-derby-county-exit-administration/

    The relevant extract reads:

"As part of the conditions of continuing membership in the EFL, the Club, whilst remaining under a registration embargo, will be permitted to sign new players in accordance with the terms of a business plan. The plan, which has been jointly agreed by the new ownership and the EFL, includes restrictions in respect of transfers fees, player wages and agents’ fees. Any application to register players must comply with the terms of those agreed plans."

I guess we all knew this was coming. What the statement does not say, is how long this will remain for. Is it the whole season? Is it the following season as well?

And what the terms are will dictate how competitive we can be. As before, we cannot even extend registrations for existing players without meeting the EFL's demands. While I'm grateful we still have a club, I will never forgive the EFL for what they did to us.

I’d expect this to be in place for a few seasons tbh.

Have I missed something or is the deadline today?  The previous deadline was 1st Feb, a four week extension was agreed which brings us to today.  I think the statement from the EFL yesterday was unnecessary.  All it’s done is create anxiety, stress and a meltdown on Twitter.

I’ve defended Quantuma before and they have got a tough job on.  They’re basically trying to get someone to buy a debt for the best price they can get.   The PB then needs to do a deal with Mel to either buy or lease the ground at more expense.  This is down to Mel and the mess he created.

That said, they can be better at managing expectations.  In the days of social media every word, every promise, every deadline is pored over in minute detail.  On 11th Feb, instead of saying 7-10 days and “very, very soon”.  They’d have been better to give an outline of the process.  For example, they’re writing to bidder to put in final offers, that period will be 7 days, they then need to look at the bids in detail and see what they mean for the club and it’s creditors.  It may be hindsight but Quantuma knew that’s what they would need to do and giving a high level overview might have helped give some understanding.

Anyway, let’s hope by the end of the day we have clarity on what’s happening, a PB (hopefully), proof of funds and three points at Cardiff!!

A point well made, always, always better to underpromise and over deliver. You would have thought Quantuma would have learnt by now. Every missed deadline just makes them look inept.

  10. This saga is so infuriating, absolute shambles. A football debt is like any other debt surely? Non payment of an amount owed for services provided, whether that be £3.50 for a pint, £200k for a house or £8m outstanding for Beilik. You enter into a contract whether written or verbal for goods or services provided I.e. a legitimate debt if not paid. The amount owed is clearly defined. If one party is claiming they might have made X if Y had / had not happened then it’s a claim for “projected loss of damages” no? So, how the hell does a claim for damages or compensation become defined as a debt?

Surely it has to be agreed by both parties that services or goods have been provided without payment? And the value had to have been agreed upon. A debt is transactional. No transaction has taken place. A claim. For loss of earnings has been made essentially. But not a cut and dry loss of earnings in the sense of “I’m going to make £2k this week but I didn’t because I was in a car accident  that was someone else's fault and if they hadn’t hit me I was guaranteed to make £2k”But, in the sense of, “if I wasn’t in a car accident, I might have made £2k, or I might have made £4m or I might have not made anything.”

This whole thing is an absolute farce. The governing body that sets the rules by which we operate has set the penalty as minus 9 points plus 12 for entering administration. So by the logic of allowing the claims by Middlesborough and Wycombe they’re essentially saying, anyone affected by our actions can make a claim for compensation against us regardless of that fact that they as the governing body, have already decided on the offence and set the punishment.

Meanwhile, instead of standing up and leading and helping to find a pragmatic solution or trying to mediate, they pass the buck back to all the parties in disagreement and say “you sort it out”

    Absolute flipping nonsense
