It’s the £2 million loan fee that’s the problem ?
Like I said on another thread, we’ve really missed a trick if we didn’t include a first dibs on loan with no fee when we sold him to city.

He is up for grabs but city reportedly want his wages paid and a loan fee totalling £2.5 million to be paid plus he has to play when fit - that is simply way out of our possibility’s
the only slight possibility we would have was if we sold of any potential money owed to us and any potential sell on percentages - which would probably be a very expensive loss to us in the future.
If we didn’t install a first dibs on a loan without fee when we sold him to city we’ve missed a trick here

Pretty good for a first stretch out. Fitness and sharpness should come, and will improve us a bit, as will returning players and more understanding.
Based purely on that, we could do worse than all trialists signing up. Jagielka was composed and even ventured into midfield, Stearman seems adequate back up. Baldock would be a useful sub/option, and Aluko looked willing at least. Ravel stood out massively, found space, linked up play, and got a few good tackles in. IF he could do it week in week out he'd be a huge positive.
Hutchinson was impressive and Forsyth actualy shepherded things really well in defence.
Buchanan, Bird and Sibley all displayed naiavity at times.
Bit out of the loop here, can I ask who Hutchinson is? Trialist or u23?

Who was manager when we flogged him? Seem to remember him saying he’d become disillusioned with football in his last year with us?

Not so sure, getting the best manager in to get us in the prem will be their top priority ?
You would think so. But Rooney in charge, whether brilliant or poor as a manger will always bring media circus, press, marketing ops and general public interest etc. Means a lot to the businessmen.
He’ll start next season as manager, no doubt in my mind. Whether he lasts the season is another thing all together. -

And also of course for tv companies that show Championship games - more exposure, more money for all.
Exactly ?

If the new owner, whoever that is, has sufficient funds he will be gone surely..
Pretty sure the Rooney name and profile is part of the attraction for prospective new owners

More than that, 35 games. Need a fresh start on and off the pitch ?
I honestly don’t think Rooney will be going anywhere. If (and it’s a big if) the takeover goes through, he’ll be tasked with the restructure of the team and getting us back up the table. Regardless of whether you’re in the Rooney in or out camp, no chance he’ll be going anywhere just yet

I’m having horrible memories of only needing a draw against reading at home to stay in the play offs in the last game of the season. Can we please have a performance like against Leeds away in the play offs this weekend now lads??!

Yes a lifeline but still a bit worried about the wendies as well. Regardless of Rotherham If Wednesday keep winning and we don’t get at least something from the next couple of games, Wednesday could do us on the last day ?
