Another myth dispelled.

Got into a heated discussion with a Barnsley fan regarding how it was so unfair we were able to pay large wages for McGoldrick. They seemed quite surprised that we're under a wage cap. Most of their fans I met seemed OK but also quite a few bitter and ignorant types as well.

I remember Julian De Sart looking very good in his first game.  That was against West Brom.  Next up, a few teams of in your face shithouses.  Not so good.

There is a relevancy to this.  After celebrating our demise it quickly dawned on the remainder of the championship how second rate they really were and how much TV revenue they might be losing.  Sky then confirmed their suspicion they were indeed crap, no one watched them and they wanted to pay them less.
