I find eating food at a ground, especially a 3pm home match, a bit odd. The longest most people would be near the ground is 2-6pm. I'm pretty sure these people don't tuck into a pie or burger around these hours on a non-matchday.

So assuming that this food isn't actually required, how are people tempted by the overpriced rubbish on offer? You would think that to tempt people into this extra meal, the food would have to be very nice and/or reasonably priced.

It's the 12-2.30 bit where I've had 4  pints that I wouldn't consume on a non matchday, that's normally the issue regarding the crap I eat at 5pm on a matchday

Are we definite that there isn't any extension options on Cashin, Bird and anyone else's expiring contracts?

We had confirmation from Warne on RD around this time on Knight's extension to retain his value.

Should have kept him for what we got.   With his appearances at International and championship level would have been much the same in compo I'd expect.

Never found out if we got anything from our Palace "friends" after their 30k piss take offer for Ebeowei.

    Brilliant!

Only down the road .  A nice day trip out for him.

In 2023, Disney historian Sebastien Durand commented on Norton Disney and its connection to Walt Disney: "This is the oldest place in England where you can find a trace of Disney, of Walt Disney's history and his family tree and even his coat of arms. The name comes from here. The exact possibility that Walt Disney is related to that is, I would say, 99%

Walt Disney visited the village on the afternoon of Thursday 7 July 1949, in an attempt to trace his ancestry. The visit is recorded in the British magazine Illustrated.[5]

Disney had been in the UK from 20 June 1949, arriving at Southampton on RMS Queen Elizabeth; he embarked on a six-day motoring holiday with his two teenage daughters, Diane and Sharon, and his wife, with a convoy of cars. After seeing the village, he left for a night at Boroughbridge in North Yorkshire, later visiting 8 Howard Place in Edinburgh on 8 July.[6] He visited Loch Ness.[7] Disney also planned to visit the Derbyshire Peaks, Stratford-upon-Avon, the Scottish Highlands, and Burns country

We might need to replace Bird and Cashin. Could end up being a tricky window, especially if Nyambe gets nabbed as well.

Which is why you go for promotion at the earliest opportunity.  There is no such thing as a rebuild.  The longer we're here, the more bricks you need and the underpinning gets more expensive every season.

Kids don't smoke cigs anywhere near as much these days. It's bordering on socially unacceptable.

The rise of disposable vapes has been ridiculously quick. There also isn't as much concrete knowledge on the harmful effects.

Vapes should have been nicotine flavour only, available only to those who had been to a GP and registered as a smoker.  No huge tax revenues in that though.  The government only get interested when it goes underground and they're losing revenue as per.  The fact that they're full of lead and stink like bubble gum is incidental to the revenue being lost.

He is a slow immobile passenger.

His one decent forward pass, that led Bird's second goal, isn't a good enough a return from a player that some posters extol as a championship level player.

Two other forward passes where straight to the feet of an opposition player and on one of these occasions, instead of trying to get the ball back he turned towards Nelson  gesturing for him to challenge the Northampton player.

If has many fans have stated, that they want to see us playing the ball through the middle of the park that will require a mobile midfield unit and it can't afford to be carrying a passenger

One moment of magic isn't good enough to warrant his being named in the starting line-up

When Fornah came on he spent 20 mins passing the ball back to Wildsmith and Nelson.

    Hourihane gets my vote.

He wasn't aware that Man City won their first title in about 50 years, coming from behind in the last 10 minutes of the season to win 3-2 against already relegated QPR then.😃

Throughout his time at Rotherham, he slowly stopped signing younger players. So much so, that not a single league minute was given to players under 21 when they were last promoted in 21/22. There's also a reason why our only loanees so far this season are 22 and 24.

He did try in January.  But wound up with Springett who played 2 games and a supposed Spurs wonder kid who's know signed for Stevenage on a permanent and not kicked a ball.

So how does stability come from sacking a manager and bringing someone in to play a different style of football 3 months after Warne has signed players to play in the way he wants?

    How's that then. ?

I'm hoping as a business man Mr Clowes has factored in the cost of making a change if required

I'd be quite worried if he gave Warne and his team a 4 year deal and then thought " hope it works out or we're stuck with him for 4 years "

FWIW I don't think it will cost much more to put his team on gardening leave paying him until the end of the season ( so no change in outgoings ) and then bring Colin in for the rest of the season as I can't imagine he would cost that much and he's always said he'd love to manage us....the cost would be smaller than we think and i really think he'd have us really going for it ....would also give us some entertainment watching him on the touchline lol ....just a thought

Pay off Warne and keep the rest.  I doubt they stay.  The other option is too shift them out on their monthly salary to avoid paying such a large sum out, spread it over the contract and bring in someone else.  That situation would likely last a couple of months till they had 'permission' to talk to another club.  Warne and his friends ego wouldn't allow themselves to be out the spotlight for a long period.

Paul Warnes interviews are so cringe. WTAF - so embarrassing that he takes zero accountability. He’s gone from Cheesey self indulgent and unfunny to petulant, clueless and a total mardarse.

my team don’t fight like dogs .. no paul .. had you ever seen Connor Hourihane or max bird play before?

we have a soft underbelly .. nope I think you do you little princess who has to keep jibing the fans in interviews who are sick to death of watching pure sh@te .. but you want us to keep clapping?

what a shame you didn’t decide to grow when you came here. I guess that’s what DC had hoped for.

you and Richie can blame the fans and players all you want. You must hate it. You don’t know what to do about it and you are banging yours, the players and our heads against a brick wall.

Supported this team since the days of Peter Taylor and have never been so against a manager.. even Phil Brown!

This club, our club is not for you I’m afraid. There will be clubs for you. You can’t fluke three promotions. Our club though isn’t for you. You are not for our club.

if someone else comes in now they have time to work with the squad and assess if they would like to amend it in January.

we don’t need someone with three promotions (though I totally get the logic) we just need someone to allow these players to play. We have all seen that when they rebel and play football these guys can score goals.

I’ve never managed a team whose fans are against the players … we’re not against them you …. It’s you we’ are against. clapping the fans  from near the dug out .. you are so petty and cheap. You begrudge the fans… and your football is crap.
so as I said our club is not for you. You are not for our club.

Anyone remembering his misery interview when we stayed up and he was "very disappointed" we'd stayed up instead of Sheff Wednesday shouldn't be surprised.

I believe Rotherham went down that year, despite having a phenomenal 15 points to play for to make up only two points on us when went about 10 games without a win.  They didn't manage it.

It didn’t seem like there was as much of a reaction at full time as at Shrewsbury surprisingly. Unless Ramstv muted the mics or something but can’t see they’d have the option to.
That was dire. Nothing much else to say 😞

They've been beaten down that much they probably can't even be arsed.
