400-500 K to bring Marriott back ?. Averaging about 1 in 2 since going to Fleetwood. He'll get 20 goals in this division given Collins chances. Oxford had a 700k plus bid accepted but not completed before the window shut and we're a few months down the line.

If you’re not interested why post, and if you are interested try posting on the right thread 😉
I'm just following the trend of the post for the last 7 or 8 hours and giving an opinion to other opinions placed as is the way of an open forum. Seems I'm certainly not the only one happy to vent at the absurdity of this competition.

I got told in the summer (along with other information which ended up being spot on) that Warne cannot stand Collins & did his best to get him gone so would expect him to be moved on in Jan if possible.
I think the likes of Collins, Hourihane, Barkhuizen & NML are all taking a fair chunk of the wage budget between them.
With his startling ability to keep appearing out wide rather than in the box, along with his exocet placement over the bar at 100mph when a side foot into the net will do, I fear that move won't come till the summer. He scored a good goal against Blackpool but not sure that will hold much in transfer or loan value in January.

The rules seem to be basically " you can't try and get out of this tinpot competition by playing your U18's and losing 3-0 accidently on purpose. If you do we'll fine you two weeks of Hourihanes wages and that'll teach ya"
A competition where they set out fines for trying to lose. Clearly held in high regard by all.

I'm so torn with how I feel about big clubs having their kids in this trophy. I fully agree to having the kids get experience, but why premier league only? Our academy were winning titles but they weren't allowed to play, as the parent club were in the championship. The whole idea just sort of stinks to me.
That being said, we should be beating these comfortably. Anything less than a win won't be good enough, despite how Warne would try and spin a late equaliser into "feeling like winning".
I'm not torn. It's an embarrassment and I'd play our U21'S.

I’d say Warne’s careless way of speaking to the media about his players is likely to be part of the reason. Including about McGoldrick.
Still may favourite. Can't beat your own manager beating out a cut price sale for one of your best players
Of the bids that Derby have received for Knight, Warne added: "I don't think the offers that we've had for him have been offensive and they're not way off.But as always, the value of anything is in the purchase and not the seller. I could want to sell my house for 300 grand. But if I get three offers for 200 grand, I ain't getting 300 grand for it.

Every major war ever has had religion at the heart - or the periphery - of it.
What you are saying, though, is the only justification for religion.
"I don't want to die. I'm scared of ceasing to exist. I know - let's pretend there is a hereafter"
A bit of a simplistic viewpoint to my mind. I'm happy for people to believe-and many genuinely do-in what keeps them centred in life so long as I'm not bothered with it and it's kept to themselves rather than preached.
Anybody wants to believe in even older gods and spend their time at summer solstice wrapped in an orange bed sheet on a wicker trip that's fine as well. Whatever makes em happy.

Not only did we lack quality we also completely lacked fight. It's one of the reasons I hate that Danny Mills and Alan Stubbs skit on being part of the 'worst team in history'. They were part of a collective who should hold their heads in shame (barring perhaps Darren Moore) for their time and taking a pay cheque while contributing absolutely f*** all. It's one thing to be crap, it's another to be crap and basically go on the pitch without even the desire to win. A while ago I looked back at some old Paul Jewell interviews from that season and he basically said the same thing.
I agree. I see no reason why any Derby fan would find it amusing.
We tried till February and then the new ones just made it worse and for 10 games they couldn't have gave less of a s***.

Why do people continue to believe in a god or creator?
It's insanity.
If it gives them or family some comfort in their last bit of life I see no issue. It's the forcing of beliefs on others that's the issue. Not restricted to religion.

I'd like to see money freed up to bring in another good striking option. I reckon that Bird, Sibley, Hourihane, Bradley and Elder are probably the top earners at the club. Bird will be gone, Sibley will be gone. We can try and get someone to take Elder who is the new Lee Morris and Bradley who is the new Dave Walton on loan. We can also let go of Loach surely. Paying someone a wage who will never play in goal, barring a catastrophe, when money was that tight that we lost out on two attacking options, one last minute, seems ridiculous. Probably a good character and that but we're not Man City who can pay Carson a million quid a year to get a decade of splinters.

Need to get a lot of things right in this upcoming transfer window because this squad does not look like they can play the way the manager want. Must go one way to save our season either reshuffle the squad or change manager. If we continue with the only pattern of play which at least I can detect and get it wide to cross it then maybe a striker able to win headers as well as an box-to-box midfielder might come in handy.
He's brought in about 11 of them, so that's something of an issue. Can't see they'll be pushing the boat out as the core of this team is his and we have a chairman whose spent 50 million on a League 1 club and will expect it to be self financing on the whole with -in his finance execs own words- fees being used for the day to day fabric of running the club. If we get a few million in January we'll only get the excess of the clubs breakeven cost for the season to use on transfers/wages.

The Spurs fans gave a lesson in how to support your team. A lot better than some I could mention.
I feel for them.
A sterling effort by all given the ignominy of a top 3 premier league place, 73 straight years of top flight action bar 1 season and a couple of league titles, 6 FA cups, 4 League cups and a UEFA cup within that time to keep them entertained.

I find all this abuse of Warne at the match heard on the TV coverage and on social media really embarrassing and detrimental to us as a club. I've never know so much ire directed at a Derby manager before in my life. Can we all stop moaning and just support our team? We've been through the mill as a club and some fans need to realise we aren't just going to 'piss the league'. This constant tirade against our manager is really tiring.
You started going after Brown and Jewell I assume.
I've not seen anyone say Derby are going to piss the league unless it's in jest. I have seen plenty say that Top 2 should be a target and Top 6 is a minimum requirement, having a management team with enough tactical nous to traverse those 3 games should we get a playoff place. Based on the agricultural football and general poor quality of 75% of this division where they just sit behind the ball, finding a variety in selection, a bit of craft and some in game management to dig out results shouldn't be that tricky with the players in the building.

I’ve been out all day so missed the game. What did he do?
Got caught out in a tussle for the second having lost his s*** over someone brushing his face with a finger in the first half and seemed to lose his game entirely. Bit embarrassing really. That being said, he was prime Maldini compared to Forsyth who completed a day of total ineptitude by allowing a ball travelling at the pace of a snail to go under his foot on the touchline. Smith was also dreadful and 5 seconds behind play. He's been living off that good half against Blackpool for a while.

Forsyth and Smith still somehow on. No change in tactics from the fitness coach to move their defenders. Bradleys s*** the bed after a flap in the face from a finger.
Load of b*******.

Why? The only save their keeper has made has been from one of their players trying to score an own goal.
You've seen the chances. One of the line. A save. Bird put over a sitter. Barkhuizen/Washington combo. There the ones I can of offhand.

Our best chance wasted by Barkhuizen then. Scuffed it wide, but not far enough wide for Washington in the middle unmarked.
Think that was Washingtons to bury. Too slow

Absolutely crying out for this. They're just retreating into the box to defend our (not so) pinpoint crosses.
It's a common theme this season. Most notably Cambridge and Shrewsbury. The lack of variation when it's apparent is strange.

Good Signing for 200k. He really seemed to like playing against Leeds which was a bonus. Also remember Ince calling us a bunch of a******** for unsettling him. Didn't think we were a******** when we were giving his wife scouting fees I bet. Also rather hilarious given his history of joining the Man Utd squad photo when he was still a West Ham player.
