SFox1993 reacted to Reggie Greenwood in Paul Warne appointed as Head Coach
Scored more and conceded less that seems to be progress

SFox1993 reacted to Comrade 86 in Paul Warne appointed as Head Coach
Ya know chaps and chapettes, folk are allowed to think Liam was treated poorly and should have been given more time AND that the cheeky chappy in charge is doing alright too. I do.
The endless carping and backbiting from BOTH sides has gone on long enough and to be honest it's getting really tiresome now.

SFox1993 reacted to RoyMac5 in The Sibley Enigma
Thought he had a decent game, unlucky not to be passed to when in good positions, put over a couple of dangerous crosses for (just about) assists. Not sure why the low 'below average' scores.

SFox1993 got a reaction from SKRam in Was 4 year contract too long for Paul Warne
No been given 4 years for a reason give him chance to stamp his ideas on the currently players and bring specific players he wants in. Lets not get stuck in the constant changing of manager again.

SFox1993 reacted to Bob The Badger in Warne's managerial start at Rotherham (it wasn't very good)
In the remaining 29 games Rotherham played that season the won 4, drew 4 and lost 21.
I have no clue how he managed to hang on in the job, but I bet Rotherham are glad he did.
Calls for him to go this early on are preposterous and only based in prior held convictions, not the realities of what is needed to succeeded in football.
Half this board would have had Clough sacked in his first season as well as Cox. And Jim Smith would have been hung, drawn and quartered after the Tranmere game.

I just want to say how lucky you are to have Paul Warne as manager. I've supported the millers for 69 years. Obviously, I've seen managers come and go during that period. As far as I'm concerned, and many other fans Warne is the best manager we've had.
Like Derby fans we went through some dark times. Administration points deducted, lost our ground, forced to play in Sheffield in an athletic stadium. No atmosphere, 4 years in the 4th division.
Paul has many qualities. Excellent staff management, a workaholic. He's articulate, honest and will live and breathe Derby County.
I thank him for all the memories, 3 Wembley wins 3 promotions and I wish him well and as a consequence wish the Rams well. I've never had a second team, but for the first time Derby County will be my second team. I look forward to seeing Paul succeed.
Hopefully Derby will be promoted and we survive in the championship and look forward to see you at the New York stadium.
All the best.

To me that shows he could do a job for us if we need him if recall clause in the loan.

I wouldnt offer him the job, at least not yet. I'm still seeing similar football to when rooney was here and I dont believe that type of football will get us promotion. He seems a nice guy who talks very well but that dont mean hes a good manager or is going to be. I hope he succeeds with us I really do, i just wouldnt bet on it.

Think he has got unlucky on a fair few occasions , hit the woodwork , last ditch block , great save etc. Id be more worried if he wasnt getting in the positions to score tbh , think once he gets one he will get a fair few. Also his workrate is fantastic , and he brings others into the game , the pass last night for the first goal , first time pass was excellent. We need to be patient , maybe he needs a games rest or whatever , i doubt that would hurt. Still would like 1 more loan forward to be honest , just to take the pressure off him even more.

Have you met Jake? Have you any reason beyond crass ignorance and petty peevishness to speak of him in such terms?
We drew a game of football mate. Breathe before you post, or you just look a twonk.

Well my fears for LR's reign are starting to show themselves. We're only 4 matches in and yes we did have an awful pre season but i think most fans would acknowledge that the style of play is very similar to what we have seen the past 2 seasons.
At the moment we seem to enjoy possession, insist on playing out from the back (despite CD's weak spot on this matter) but not actually create an awful lot.
I acknowledge that the players are still finding out about each other and i'd also agree that we're 3/4 signings light from us having genuine promotion contenders squad depth. But at the moment i don't look at how we approach games and get excited that we're going to put teams to the sword.
LR is somewhat compromised that he's had no alternative but to use the coaches already within the set up but if things don't change soon then i think fans will become restless and LR will find himself without a job.
Overall i believe this smells a lot like the Clough/McClaren season where the players are there, but the tactics/training/selection aren't quite at it and are stifling our potential. I hope I'm wrong and its just a case of shaking off the pre season drama, but wondered what others thoughts are currently towards LR. I'm fully behind him for now...
