Let’s be honest, after Weds nights performance… today was a vast improvement except for the blunder that allowed the peroxide blonde ex ram to smash the ball unchallenged into our net. We have had many gam s this season where we haven’t got the result we deserved but we again today showed character and strength against 14 men. We have to accept that we are playing against all odds week in week out! WE ARE Derby COUNTY, LETS SHOW THE WORLD THAT WE DONT GO MISSING COYR ? ?????

AbuDerbyDave reacted to sage in Have all the dummies been thrown out of the pram yet?
If so, shall we move onto the next game?
We are all disappointed in the last couple of games, but having read about sacking Rooney, players not caring, players giving up, our recruitment is awful, we are definitely down even down without a points reduction in the last 24 hours, it's time to regroup and be realistic.
Rooney wasn't the best manager in the Championship 4 games ago and he isn't the worst now. What we do have is a thin squad mainly made up of veterans and youngsters. We started yesterday's game with half of our outfield players aged 34 to 39. With the new manager bounce they played a high tempo and we got overrun. We look tired and are ready for the international break.
Are we going down? We are certainly up against it. There are so many variables, admin points appeals, ffp appeals and takeovers and that's before we get to what happens on the pitch. I think the players are giving their all and until the Blackburn game, so were the fans. These are trying times and we need to stick together and stay optimistic. We need to still be in the fight when the New Year comes. By then we should know more about points deductions, new owners and transfer capabilities.
If we get deducted 21 points, there is little hope, but we can't give up yet. Every point is vital and every fans support is too. I hope that our fans recent negativity doesn't transmit to the games. so let's all dust ourselves down and keep supporting our great club as best we can.
I don't know if we can manage this great escape but if we do, it will take the collective will of all of us.

They're proper Derby curtains, I grant you.
You could drive a bus through the middle of them.

AbuDerbyDave reacted to DazzaRam in Is the optimism Wayneing yet
Is this all a wind up? We have one of the best defensive records in the league and Curtis Davies is getting stick? Like we had a ton of choices to sign before Davies signed. I find some of the comments absolutely shocking. Im sure its a wind up!!!

Indeed, arguable our best defender so far and leading goalscorer.
But not good enough!
Hmmmmmmmm if you’re going to single out one player for a kicking Davies would be the last one!

AbuDerbyDave reacted to plymouthram in Need an owner and quick, a total reset and build for League One
And that's still to be proved, in the year that he's been in charge, it's been transfer embargo's, free transfers, loans, points deductions, covid (no fans in stadium to urge the team on), Injury to key players (Bielik, Knight etc), loss of fitness coach and the list could go on. If Messi was to hang his boots up this season and become coach of Notts County, the investors would also be knocking at the door even though he would be a novice coach.
Famous footballers attract sponsors/monies. Qatar are paying Beckham £150m to be one of their ambassadors for next years world cup.

Well played Derby - good performance that against a decent opponent.
Nice mix of game management tonight. First 25 mins played some great stuff, pinging the ball around & they struggled to squeeze the space - Forsyth particularly prominent & fitting that he got the goal. Thereafter Reading had a good spell as they did for 15 mins around the hour mark but we dug in, were well organised & defended well. Really pleased for Allsop too - couple of shaky performances in the League Cup but he was excellent tonight. Two fantastic saves (one in each half), some routine saves & good with the ball at his feet also.
Elsewhere, thought Knight right side was a lot better than I thought he'd be - he & Byrne combined well particularly first half & his running into space was a feature of our counter attacks - just disappointed he didn't put Stretton in just before he came off. Shout out for Stearman also who was very solid deputising for Jagielka.
Obviously they had a lot of late pressure but thought we looked reasonably comfortable & wasn't too concerned we'd throw it away. Important psychologically now that we've got back into positive points - if we can follow this up with another victory v Swansea on Saturday (who have just chased Fulham around the park all night) then we can start to think about reeling in Hull. All small steps.
Last word for the fans - magnificent all night & looked like a decent turnout in the end from the tellybox. I had a ticket for tonight but unfortunately tested positive for Covid on Monday so couldn't go - don't think I've ever been as disappointed to miss a match, really wanted to be there to roar on the lads. The team will have fed off that support tonight though & there were plenty of compliments on Sky about the backing we got.
