AbuDerbyDave reacted to Day in Bristol City next to fail P and S ?
The last 6 seasons the best they have reached is 8th in the Championship. Losing 412k a week for 8th.
We've been losing money by the week, no high horse to sit on, but you could argue we at least came close to promotion.
Beat Villa and the rest is history.
The counter argument will be that we cheated, by that token so did QPR when they beat us at Wembley but you haven't seen us crying like others have, I don't recall any justice for Derby campaigns from league rivals back then.
Our crime was initially for selling the stadium, the valuation which didn't sit right with others successfully defended, but what we did was use a different amortisation method where again no rules were actually broken, was just decided at a later date having signed off our accounts that yeah we don't like that actually. They wanted to punish us for whatever they could simple as that.
The Championship is broken, under the current system the Premier League would become a closed shop, those that come down bounce back up. You may get the odd one to break through but you're asking clubs to compete with clubs in receipt of parachute payments, how when they are also trying to ban the most lucrative sponsors as well, gambling firms.
These rich owners have nothing to gain from owning a Championship club, what has Lansdown or Morris actually got out of owning a football club?
It's a mugs game it really is, that Lansdown is losing in a week what 20 fans combined earn in a year.
The small number of Bristol City fans over on OTIB are waving their axes in the wrong direction, they should be towards the EFL and PL, they have the duty of care and right now it's not sustainable.
They are one man away from administration like us and many in this league, we are not the enemy but another example of how the game is broken.
If they feel comfortable with Lansdown not pulling the plug, great, enjoy it. But there are many Derby fans that felt the same comfort just a few months ago, things can change quickly and would only take another lockdown to seriously financially challenge another club into submission.
The next 12 months I predict we will see deductions for clubs into double figures.
With regards to HMRC we're getting hammered for, the unpaid bill is wrong, very wrong I doubt you will find a Derby fan to suggest otherwise.
I'm still a little unsure how we managed to rack up such a debt when we saw Forest hauled into the courts by HMRC on a regular basis under Fawaz.
Was it 20 years ago Leicester were in a similar situation, sold and go on to win the Premier League, not going down the whataboutery path, but you have to question how are we seeing repeat situations 20 years down the line?
Anyhow that's me done in this topic, as I say previously I wish the real Bristol City fans good luck, I hope it's not serious and you avoid any sanctions.
Also please don't let Chris Martin come back, seen a tortoise cover more ground in a year than he does in 90 minutes.

I never once felt personally privileged, and I know for sure @Boycie never, in fact they became that much of a pain in the arse to the point he wouldn't even go and I had to make a 6 hour round trip.
Having to deal with comments like this just grinds you down and why I quit, what's the point, why bother?
These are fans giving up their free time to provide a communication link between club and fans, all they get is crap for it.
Being called out for alienating other fans, claimed they are frightened to talk, just shows a real lack of understanding and appreciation for what these groups do for us all.
If it wasn't for them it's unlikely any information would come out other than through the media. You can't expect the club to open the floor to the entire fanbase to ask questions that are then answered on the website, even if they did it would take a lot longer than the 48hrs you're already unwilling to wait for.

Don’t know if that was directed at my post re Morris on Twitter but I based my suggestion he may be worthy of consideration due to his work with the Chelsea youth team where he was quite impressive and no doubt noted by Lampard, who, starting out on his first managerial venture wanted an astute coach along side him.
Re Twitter, I’ve seen two examples of his tweets (one, “once a Ram”...) which suggested to me (rightly or wrongly) he still has a passing interest in the club and I like that thought.

In all seriousness, tonight was one of those performances to be proud of.
Did we ride our luck? Yeah of course, but everyone has a bit of luck to help them along the way, about time we had some.
The players battled until the end, you can't ask much more than that. Whilst it was largely backs against the walls we did create chances, the ball in decent areas.
Point well earned.
4pts from Bournemouth and Fulham is incredible, it's games like these which give us that hope and let us dream what appears to be the impossible.

What a brilliant hard fought point that is. Jags, Davis, and Roos were immense. Byrne shouldn't be able to compete with some of those units he's up against, but he saved us on more than one occasion tonight. Forsyth came back In and didn't let anybody down.
The rest of team grafted and fought once again and we can only hope Wayne gives them all a steady couple of days to recover from the knocks and graft they've put in over the last 2 games.

As an aside can I just say where has Thompson come from ? The way he's slotted into the midfield like he has been there all season in 2 of the hardest games of the season is seriously impressive. One of the things that I really really like about him is he's consistently moving to provide the passer an option.

not caught up on comments on here... dashed home, dashed out, just got back and logged in...
I'm normally the first out, dashing from my aisle seat as soon as the whistle goes.
Today, every single player deserved that ovation, and I was more than happy to stay back, and applaud them off... and I got the impression quite a few more hung back for a little longer than normal. And rightly so!
At half time, I mentioned that I was enjoying the players' attitude. By full time, I was immensely impressed, and exceedingly proud, of each and every one of them. We all know that collectively at least, they lack the quality to match today's achievement week in, week out, but today, they busted a gut, and got exactly what they deserved... a bloody fantastic 3 points!
If truth be told, as that last rendition of "We'll fight to the end" rang out... long after the final whistle... it brought a lump to my throat, and a tear to my eye.
For quite a while now, I've been kidding myself that in the grand scheme of things, DCFC come a fair way down the list of priorities in my life these days. Today has taught me that they do still matter. I do still care. And that I really will be Derby 'til I die.
Today was a good day... nay, a great day. One down, 28 to go!
