I get that position. On the flip side, he had the minerals to turn up and face folks at the forum, and to stick it out when thousands were chanting for him to go.
Also, a man as shrewd, experienced an successful as David Clowes reckons he's competent.
Where I come out on this is he should have a clean slate.

I disagree with this. Carefully-worded statements fine, but he is complicit with what happened with Mel, like it or not; fans being distrustful of him is more than understandable. To my knowledge he's never directly made comment on level of involvement, so for all we know him and Mel could have been hand-in-hand walking the club towards oblivion. Until this information is known, I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him- he was the CEO of a business that went into administration, that's not exactly a ringing endorsement he's good at his job, and he's said nothing to sway opinion otherwise.

To be honest, these forums do little but leave those involved having what they said, what they didn’t say, what attire they wore and what beverage they consumed picked apart until anything of value is completely diminished.
Warne and the players shouldn’t be at these events. They should be fully focused on the weekend. The best message they can put out is three points and a good performance on Saturday.

Warne expects players to ‘gas out’ there are rarely 90 minute games for the more forward players. Dobbin was more popular but what did he do better?

Funny you mention charisma though… I bet Sven’s better thought of than Southgate despite having a better squad and not even making a semi (Ulrika aside)

Same could be said for Sibley, at a much better rate, in fact I think Sibs scored 4 goals in 10 games at CAM last season in all competitions so still stands up today. We will see on Knight, to be fair, no doubt his ability to press and cover ground is outstanding but I’ll never be convinced that he has the technical ability to become anything other than a steady Championship option.

GB SPORTS reacted to sage in BELPER TAPAS TRAIL 8TH AND 9th SEPTEMBER
Having 282 followers for the Facebook group suggests that the marketing was a major factor. We also had mentions on 3 other community Facebook groups. Each pub had posters up for 2 weeks and created their own Facebook Tapas pages or linked to the group.
On a more anecdotal basis, I talked to dozens of people, they had all joined the group, or at least one of their party had. Mostly from the original posters, then word of mouth. Many people commented on going in pubs they have never been in before or hadn't been in in years. So it was a good promotion for pubs, especially those with new owners.
I don't think guided tours are a good idea, as bars don't want 20 or 30 people arriving en masse wanting Tapas all at the same time. It was possibly too busy as it was, with some long waits for food and many places running out or suspending orders. I think they need to do less cooked to order food and have stuff already ready.
Obviously the sunshine helped, however if it had been half as busy it still would have been a success as food would have been served till later.
It will definitely happen again, just need to decide how many times a year and if more pubs want to join. I have 282 people in the group, so I have a solid base to promote to next time.

I enjoy the theory of his style of play, although the practical application seems to be somewhat lacking ATM.
However, watching England yesterday, reminded me of watching Derby under LR. It was so slow, passing for the sake of it. For all the possession England created virtually nothing, with the goal coming from pure Warne ball, 50 yard diagonal long ball from by the half way line to a wide player, not unlike many balls from Cashin to NML. The most annoying aspect of LR ball was the ridiculous goal kicks from the CH to the keeper, inviting the opposing forwards to put us under pressure.

So are you saying David Clowes didn’t do due diligence on Paul Warne !
I think that’s unfair on David Clowes if true. .
Not having a go at you mate as you are pretty consistent with your views in this. .
I seem to remember I was on here saying I wanted Rosenior to stay and got hammered for it as the majority view on the forum was pro Warne appointment including his big detractors now.
I always try to get behind the manager and players at Derby County and I think our Chairman who saved DCFC and Paul  Warne and the players deserve some slack.
If we win the next load of games and shoot up the League and get promoted will the Paul Warne detractors change their views .
I also don’t get this vitriol against Paul Warnes style of management and against his interview techniques.
He is who he is and I don’t mind him at all .

Archie Gemmill. Not our greatest ever player but the best midfielder we’ve ever had with skill, pace off the mark, tackling and an indomitable spirit that refused to accept losing. He would transform this team and any we’ve had over the last 25 years as well, through force of personality alone. Willie Carlin on steroids and Willie transformed what became a really good side. Archie was better.

Call me a happy clapper if you will but I am encouraged that it's 5pm on a Saturday and we haven't dropped 3 points in an abject display of hoofball.
No doubt the naysayers will be bemoaning the fact that we haven't won or drawn either but that kind of negative thinking will just bring us down.
Mods can we have a poll to ascertain whether it was Warne's fault we haven't played today?

I think Glover's character was based on Glover himself. He was a teacher at the same school as Barry Hines. But then again, you might be right about Greenwood. Barry Hines was a local teacher. He had a spell teaching at Dale School.
Glover was quite a good player. He played for Barnsley boys around 1948. He mentions online that he played against Len Allchurch when he played against Swansea Boys, but I think Cliff Jones might also have been in the Swansea team. He complains in one Youtube video that he missed the chance to play against Derby Boys at Barnsley because he was dropped. The Parry brothers and a few other very good players were in the Derby team.

    We're in Division 3.
Enjoyment comes when we look like we have a chance of promotion. Until then, its a matter of getting behind the lads every match.
Having said that, some of us will remember the days of being in similar circumstances fondly. I cannot emphasise enough how good it will feel when we make our journey back. Be part of it. Be proud. Keep the faith.
