But that isn't a restriction on us. It's a pretty odd way to view it. We're not restricted, we just don't have the revenues of other teams. In theory, we can generate and spend as much as them. There is nothing to stop us doing that, of course we aren't able to in reality. But we're just less competitive. 

Again though, we aren't more restricted in any way. We're less competitive due to parachute clubs etc, but we have way more room to spend now with + 10 mil of revenue, and the Championship rules allow for more leeway anyway. 
We're not restricted on revenue, we just don't generate enough. I think the terminology of being more "restricted" is just simply incorrect. We just aren't big fish in a small pond anymore and are middling revenue wise so will be middling in what we can spend. 

Not sure what the contract looks like, but he’s been offered the biggest deal ever in Preston’s history - larger than what both Sheff Utd and Coventry have offered. 
I’ve got to guess it’s going to be in excess of £35-40k a week. All the will in the world, well beyond what we’re going to be offering.

I'm not PW's biggest fan, just for the football we have played. But, he's clearly a very switched on, intelligent bloke - and he has stated that they have been having recruitment meetings for months, with himself pushing he agenda to look at Championship quality players, despite not knowing at the time if we were going up. 
He knows what he needs. I'm also expecting us to play like the last season he was at Rotherham. High intensity pressing, with one of the 3 CBs having the free role of attacking everything in the air and getting tight to the main striker at every chance. I'm quite excited to be honest. 

I think/hope we can safely assume that the midfield will be strengthened during the transfer window. Probably with younger and more athletic players than Hourihane and Smith. They both served us well last season (especially Smith later in the season) but it is probably the right time to wave goodbye.

I think you’re just saying our budget has gone from the top to perhaps the middle. Whilst that’s true, I’m not sure I’d use the word “restricted” as that’s misleading. 

Think Warne will be targeting 22-28 primarily. This guy will be 30 before the new season. Now whilst that isn't over the hill necessarily, I can't see us signing many the wrong side of 30.

Most of them seem oblivious to the contempt with which a significant section of their fanbase is regarded by fans of many other clubs. They think our p taking over their relegation is purely because of 'that' chant, ignoring the fact that they also bombarded our fans with missiles, ripped out seats and damaged the toilet areas, all on a day on which we held a protest march to which their fans were invited to attend to show their solidarity (and some of them did). I can only imagine those Birmingham fans who did march with us that day were thoroughly ashamed of their brain-dead co-supporters.

Living in Uttoxeter i know a few Birmigham fans and on saturday i was lucky enough to be in the same pub as some of them as they got relegated.
I'd done a 15 mile charity walk from 0800 to 1230 and we went to my local, the Three Tuns in Utch for a buffet and drinks. The walk was in memory of a fellow Rams fan who passed last year with proceeds to Macmillan.
As we gathered in the pub some local brummies were there who i knew and their match was on telly. 
I'd done the walk in a Rams shirt so was wearing it in the pub. As the game progressed and we saw that they were going down one of them came over and gave me a bit of stick cos of me Derby shirt. 
I reminded him that my son had given him a good hiding 20 years previously and it would be embarassing for him to receive one from someone his dad's age!
His dad came over and dragged him back with profuse apologies.
 
I have zero reason to be sorry that Birmingham have gone down!

They're not in Administration and they've got hugely wealthy owners. They'll survive. When they took the piss out of us, we were on the brink of oblivion and their taunts must have made some of our more vulnerable fans even lousier, so I think we're allowed a bit of schadenfreude at their expense.

I would normally be with you on this.  I usually feel some compassion -as we have all been in their shoes.  But having been on the train between Derby and Birmingham after the 2022 match with the repugnant BCFC fans, they deserve all they get.  
 

A think a few things to think about here. 
1. I’d take those estimates there with a pinch of salt. That estimate puts Blackburn players on less than £6k a week on average. (25 players) Not having it. 
2. Our wage bill has been widely reported but that figure, someone correct me if I’m wrong, is the entire clubs wage bill. Not just playing staff. There is no way our average players wage is £13.5k a week. 

 

Considering letting Sibley or Thompson go is madness IMO. Sibley's versatile, and experienced in the Championship. Thompson played in the Championship and has improved significantly since then. Both young, home-grown talents, that we should be making the most of, not discarding.
