I remember those days (vaguely)……

He is nowhere near good enough on the ball or has good enough touch in tight spaces. His lack of lateral movement and short area quickness would be exposed big time. Keep seeing this suggested and it would be awful.

You might well not be defending the idiots, but you sure as hell seem to be condemning the innocent party who reacted to them.

I think it’s hard for any of us to say definitively without more information. So we can speculate that it’s less, because we have only signed free agents and not spent fees. Or we can speculate that it’s more and that we’ve paid increased wages to the 8 permanent additions as well as handing out new contracts to Rooney, Brown and 4 players added to the u21 squad. Or we can speculate that it’s the same because we don’t know for sure what Didzy, Curtis, Chester and Stearman were on wage wise plus the loan players so maybe their wages are balanced out by the new players, 8 new additions, 4 u21 players and allegedly more to come in potentially balancing out the 11 that left in a budgetary sense.
We don’t know in reality, which I know you’re also aware of, only those in charge of the club know for sure. 

If it’s an opinion you’re after I’ll say I’m disappointed we haven’t spent fees on a couple of players out of left field. I was hoping Mark Thomas joining the club would herald a new dawn of us unearthing gems, that’s why I was so enthused by the Lee Bonis link/rumour. I took what the local press reported earlier in the summer as a sign we were going to spend a bit, the reality has been different to my initial expectations but I stand by a point I’ve put across to other posters in that I’m not upset with who we have signed, and there’s still time to add more.

1Wildsmith - 5.5:  At fault for the 2nd, and seemed to struggle to communicate with the back 3.  Half a mark extra for the one on one save
35Nelson - 6:  Steady debut, distribution was inconsistent, great cross in 2nd half that Fozzy should've buried
5Bradley - 5:  Looked surprisingly nervous.  At fault for the 1st, should've scored from the 1st half corner
6Cashin - 5.5:  Looked a bit off the pace, distribution wasn't its usual quality.  
14Washington - 6:  Lively when he came on but would be better centrally than the wide left role he was tasked with
23Ward - 7:  Good debut, clearly better going forward, was a real threat in the 2nd half before he went off
2Wilson - 6.5:  Promising cameo, especially the first 5 mins or so
12Smith - 6:  Did ok but sometimes takes too long on the ball
8Bird - 6:  Some nice touches but largely ineffective
4Hourihane - 6:  Same as Bird
3Forsyth - 7:  Did well in the wingback role, great goal but coud and should have had at least 1 more
Elder - 6:  Did ok but clearly needs games
9Collins - 6.5:  Thought he did quite well in our build ups but not sure he is playing the role PW wants him to 
11Méndez-Laing - 6:  Decison making seems to be an issue in those central positions, great shot in the 1st half though
Thompson - 6:  

Last season was fine. I know you like to operate under a ridiculous persona on here, but if we're honest it wasn't great but nor was it catastrophic. Just fine. We now have a clean slate, a new season and Warne has signed his own players for the first time here. It's pretty reasonable to look at just the current season. Like I said, if we're not playing well in 10 games time I will probably have some doubts on whether he is the right man for the job, but we've only played one game, and the defensive mistakes aren't Warne's fault. They severely altered the tempo of the games due to the timing of the mistakes.
Since you've been on this forum, you've never supported a manager. Support how you like, but I find that embarrassing personally.
