.....Earnshaw is an interesting one. Maybe something was going on behind the scenes (I heard rumours but I don’t know if they were true).

I've posted this before, but worth repeating:

I was working in Norwich while Earnshaw was playing for them and for a while he was at the same hotel I used to stay at - a more arrogant and unpleasant character you'd be hard pressed to find....

He had a huge Humvee which he used to either park on the double-yellow lines directly outside the entrance (which got in pretty much everybody's way) or else he'd park it across two of the disabled spaces - never in the (huge) main carpark. He also used to march about as if he owned the place and expected the staff to treat him as some sort of royalty - conversations I had with a number of the reception staff suggested he wasn't well liked. If his behaviour there was an indication of his 'normal' character then I'd not be surprised if he fell out with a number of folk at PP....

So Leicester are still cheating, still trying to wriggle off the hook and hoping that promotion to the premier league will help them escape justice.

I hate saying this, but I'd happily see Leeds promoted if it meant Leicester getting stuck in the Championship with a major financial problem on their greasy hands.

and the EFL still are completely incompetent......

I think the pgmol or whatever they're called should review the footage to see if lessons can be learned, and if there is anything there, that can be retrospectively done then they should do it.

That means Red card for Yates. To which it would have been a free kick effectively making it Liverpools ball, so alls well that ends well, Forest got away with one there not the other way around.

But still if I was a PL ref before a Forest game I'd make sure the insurances I have on any of my business are tip top, especially if I owned bakeries. No reason, no accusations, just good practice. As an aside I hope the dogs dont intimidate the Refs and get future beneficial treatment because of their owner and that bloke they've hired off Gladiators.

I think the PGMOL in conjunction with the FA should politely write to Forest reminding them that Clattenburg is no longer a referee and is therefore no more important than any other member of staff at the chitty ground - and if they continue to publicly challenge the authority of referees, they will be charged collectively with bringing the game into disripute and may be docked points accordingly....

Florist are an utterly tinpot outfit that get more ridiculous by the week....

Asteroid City: I love the quirkiness of Wes Anderson films and find the first fifteen minutes utterly uplifting. But then it just seems to be more of the same and I just find myself losing concentration and just wanting them to get on will telling the story. Abdul Camara / 10

Fremont: Film about an Afghan translator now living in California. Filmed in black and white and billed as a comedy. I watched it on a plane and was still tempted to walk out. OK, it wasn't quite that bad, it's just bang average. Paul Trolloppe / 10

Dream Scenario: My absolute pet hate of a film concept, a good idea that they just don't know how to close out. Nicolas Cage is a non-descript lecturer who everybody starts having dreams about. He's actually not that bad, the whole thing is supposed to be an allegory for cancel culture but it just ends up being a story they just don't know how to end so it just fades away, leaving you realise you've wasted two hours of your life. Callum Ball / 10

Asteroid City - Wes Anderson films are normally watchable and what a great cast for this one - but I'm afraid I only lasted 30 minutes or so. After the intriguing beginning, it just slowed down to such an extent that I couldn't get a feel for where the story (if there was one) was going.....perhaps it got better and I'm being unfair but not for me....

    Are the rules changes

No relegated for the Top Six

A pick of all the other clubs academies at minimal cost

The Top 6 clubs do need to be careful if clubs start to disappear it will reduce the popularity of the game as a whole, a league of just six teams doesn’t feel very attractive.

I almost wish the Super League had happened and the domestic leagues had refused to have anything to do with the 'big 6' ever again.....

It is of course totally the fault of Ed Dawes that we have lost the last two games. But, I also wore a new jumper. So, as much as I hate to say, it may well be my fault rather than Ed’s… sorry everyone 😝

You treacherous swine - bring back the old jumper! I haven't worn the same pair of lucky underpants since 1983 for pleasure you know!

  7. Apologies for being sizeist but I give this example as someone who's not quite as svelte as I used to be....Two rather (make that very!) large ladies waddling (literally) side-by-side on my way back from the match last night - taking up the entire width of the pavement. Thought it but stopped myself from saying out loud "Would you mind moving your fat a*** out of the way so the queue behind you can get past....."

Felt quite proud of myself for the huge amount of self-control I showed - particualrly considering the mood I was in after watching that dross....

There are going to be times when your defenders get outpaced, look at Cashin at Lincoln away. That's absolutely no excuse for Wildsmiths idiotic challenge.

As slow as he is, if you look at the still picture of the penalty decision, Bradley was back to cover Wildsmith.

I wasn't trying to excuse Wildsmith's stupidity - just pointing out that if Bradley had done his job properly, the situation wouldn't have occurred....

Idiotic challenge you could see him making several seconds before he did. Bradley did fantastically to head it straight to them and kick it straight to them before getting done for pace in behind for it too. Truly top notch play.

Turning speed and acceleration of an oil tanker - that one passage of play undoes all the good will his recent perfomances have generated....

  10. As I watched us collapse from a decent first half to a turgid 2nd last night I thought to myself that the Charlton team were exactly the sort of squad that Warne would wet himself to manage - a group (May excepted) of big, strong, atheltic players that ran all night and got in our faces. Unfortunately, Warne is trying to get our group of players to do the same and they're simply not up to it - whether that's physical limitations, type of player or simply that they're struggling with the intensity demanded and are close to burn out.

Sacking him now would be a crazy move, but promoted or not at the end of the season, Clowes needs to have a heard-headed review of the manager and decide whether he's up to the job in hand - my opinion is that he's a small club manager who is way out of his depth with the level of expectation at PP - and in the Championship, his obvious limitations will only be more apparent.....

Warne says some of our players look “Gassed Out”. Let’s hope they don’t drop off as badly as last season . Only good thing is that Bolton are running out of steam as well. Barnsley will hope we draw with Bolton so they can nick that 2 nd place .

In the 'where will we finish' thread, I predicted that we'd be 8th which may have been a tad pessimistic, but it was for precisely that reason - we've got a number of older players or players that have had injuries and it seems that Warne's all action, never stop running approach is too much for them - surely the manager has to recognise players that are struggling and take them out of the team....that's part of his job.

  12. Disabled badge folk have also been parking on Royal Way between the exit to the Arena car park and the roundabout with the Audi dealership - that is dangerous as it's pushing cars leaving the car park further out into the road where there are people walking....only a matter of time....

  13. This is descending into politics, but the suggestion was that the SNP were far more interested in causing issues for Labour than getting their motion through - ask yourself which party is the greatest threat to SNP seats at the next election? - and then ask yourself why Starmer was so set on obstructiong their plan (whether that involved applying pressure to the Speaker or not)? The slaughter in Palestine was very much secondary to the domestic politics of the opposition parties on the day.....
