We are still under the EFL/Kieran Maguire/Gibson/Parry protocol that stops us competing. Sacking Warne will not be an option for us from a financial perspective,

Yes, perhaps too much of an ask, considering recent performances.

I just watched the highlights- who was supposed to be marking the player on the back post in the last moments of the game who somehow didn’t score as it looks like dreadful defending

I don’t disagree at all. Just making the point that, while the football department receives all of the brickbats, they are not in full control of the situation. It’s all down to cash really.

Ronnie, absolute Rams legend!

If the finance guys are doing their job and ensuring that the club lives within its means, we should perhaps be applauding that.

Van der Predicto is taking his (crystal) ball home in a sulk.
4 points max available now from what looked like such a momentum building set of fixtures. That's not playoff form.
Injuries starting to pile up as well just as the window closes so we can't do anything about it which adds to the frustration.

I am fully expecting us to give him a warm welcome tomorrow by kicking the ball on to his head at every opportunity and at no point considering putting pace up against him to make him look bad. We are very thoughtful like that.

Smith's been out injured since the Bristol Rovers game. Before that he was playing regularly, his performances were steady and included a MOTM performance at Blackpool. What exactly would he be unhappy about?
You're entitled to your opinion on Smith as a player (personally, I'd be perfectly happy with him playing DM at the moment if that meant Hourihane played further forward) but the suggestion that he "wants away" by the OP is baseless and it's not sopmething I'd want to see unless it was effectively as a swap for a striker.

We do have a 'thin spread' of midfield players in the squad.
I'll get my coat.....

We actually "hoof it" less than most teams in this division.

This will be a tough game. Clarke has done an unbelievable job there so far. We should not be turning up expecting us to batter them 5-0, fans should get behind the lads. I really can’t believe the negativity, can understand the frustration and anger at the performance on Tuesday but we’ve had one defeat and 1 draw at home since October and we’ve won many. If Cheltenham do come out fast and press us it gives us the chance to potentially put the game to bed in the first 20 mins but I think Darrell Clarke will be cute he’ll have a plan to try and stop our ball players.
Think NML and CBT will start and think we could cause them havoc. Cheltenham will make it tough but we’ll have enough to do the job.

No. It wouldn’t be appropriate. Applaud him when he’s warming up and when his name is announced. After that, for the next 90 minutes, he’s a player for the other team. Applaud him if/when he gets substituted and at the end but not during the game.

europia got a reaction from Eatonram in Does Warne deserve the vitriol aimed at him?
It's probably OK to not like Warne's media personality without insulting his management credentials. I'm not sure if another manager would be doing better with this squad and it's limitations. Of course it's possible, but not a certainty. Also, no one other than those close to the management and owner have an insight into the budget constraints. All factors for consideration.

Agree with all of that. The current squad obviously has it's limitations and that's why results like Lincoln and Reading have to be kept in context. I'm not 100% convinced about Warne, but it may well turn out that he's done pretty well with the players at his disposal. I expect we will win against Cheltenham and pick up more points on a mini run, then have a couple of bad results again. Theres bit of a pattern. The main frustration for supporters is that League 1 is there for the taking this season, but we just can't grind out results when we are in touching distance. With our record, battling it out via the play offs is not a prospect that many will look forward to.
