A bit naive of the manager.... put it down to Rooney being inexperienced. All said and done, unsurprisingly, it hasn't worked.

Definitely time to be realistic, and being unable to get even a point against a woeful Barnsley is fair indicator of how the season is likely to end. Regarding needing the international break...... it doesn't seem five minutes since the last one.  I agree that the majority of the team are giving it their best shot, but it's difficult to see how this group of players can get us off the bottom of the table.

We just don't look like we can score. Barnsley were nothing special tonight and if we'd had a half decent striker...

That ship has long since sailed am afraid. How on earth are the administrators now going to sanction paying Rooney off to get rid of him.
Rooney is limited in terms of his managerial evolution and is making mistakes along the way as part of his learning curve and is managing a limited group of players. That's where we're at.

Imagine having the temerity to turn up at a game of a club he’s hoping to buy. Don’t know who he thinks he is.
Jesus wept, I sometimes think...nah never mind, if I get jumped on by a mod for a lighthearted pop at Lawrence at the Joiners it’ll be a ban for what I was going to post.

I've heard there are loads of multi billionaires who want to own Derby without showing their face and just hiding behind the scenes and writing large checks for players of which they expect no return on! ?
But seriously, I think our fans need a dose of reality. We're not going to find the ''perfect'' owner, they don't exist.

Turning up for games is making noise how exactly? He did one tweet about Forest and many fans on here have managed to moan about it for a week now.
Presently, he's the only person who has made a bid to take us over, and the phrase ''beggars can't be choosers'' really comes in to play.

    Not another NDA.

europia reacted to Carl Sagan in Triumph and Tragedy - Alan Hinton's autobiography
For those who don't know, one of Derby's all-time great players, Alan Hinton, has written an autobiography about his extraordinary life, which included playing for England and winning two league titles with us, before moving on from Derby to Canada and America as a player and then becoming a very successful coach and "Mr Soccer" over there. I wonder if he was ever in the running to return to manage us?
Here's a video that covers some of it. I've started it at the Derby section, but feel free to go back to the beginning.
The book isn't the easiest to get hold of. The DCFC Megastore stocked 100 copies, quickly sold them all, but currently aren't bothering to restock when I don't think it would cost them anything. I feel for Alan who has such a deep passion about Derby, and tweets about the club from his home in Seattle most days, and has written what looks a great book, but it's really hard to get hold of. Right now the only way seems to be through this Wolves site (which is the publisher who has done it with him): https://wolvesbooks.net/ ticking "Triumph and Tragedy".
If anyone has a contact with the Megastore it would be great if they could raise stocking the book with them. The publisher tells me he would personally deliver books to the Megastore at no cost (as he did with the first 100), so I think the club simply needs to sell them and keep a share of the profits.
It's available from Amazon.com in America https://www.amazon.com/Triumph-Tragedy-Alan-Hinton-Story/dp/1999671953/ but oddly the publisher's not even selling it through Amazon UK https://www.amazon.co.uk/Triumph-Tragedy-Alan-Hinton-Story/dp/1999671953 or doing an eBook.

europia reacted to Steve Buckley’s Dog in Charlton Athletic and Ipswich Town to sue Derby County
Charlton Athletic are set to sue Derby County for £25 million after the ball burst in the 1946 FA Cup Final. If it hadn’t burst then we might have won or got some good players or something, said a Charlton spokesman. Meanwhile Ipswich Town also announced they were going to sue Derby County due to some reason or other. We might have won more games if they hadn’t beaten us in them, cited an Ipswich spokesman. It simply wasn’t fair that they had better players and scored more goals. We want £40 million and Martyn Waghorn back.
Meanwhile American fast food chain McDonalds announced that they were going to sue Derby County for fielding a player with their brand name. Flagrant breach of copyright, claimed a spokesman for the evil corporation.
In other news the EFL announced a further 9 points deduction for Derby County after the midlands side finished their 0-0 draw against Swansea with 5 full backs on the pitch. Everyone knows you should have two full backs, said a source close to Rick Parry. Derby ended the game with 5 players who full back could be considered their tecognised position. That is clearly too many. We checked the rules but couldn’t find anything specific about this so we all agreed that 3 points per extra full back sounded about right.

Meanwhile Wycombe have announced they aren’t going to sue Derby County for getting them relegated by buying Nick Blackman when they were two leagues below after they realised it was totally ridiculous and so far fetched as to be laughable.

Just watched the re run of Shinnies goal. That was  quality. Lawrence waited to give the right ball to Colin who was so so calm, again, waiting for Byrnes run then delivering a cute weighted pass, good first time cross. Ball was up but dropping so so slowly but Shinnie was composed enough wait and then shoot away from where to goalie was naturally going and where a snap shot was likely to go. That takes a steady hand in these poo strewn days. Nice one Shinnie. Well played team.

Yes, very slippery character. Wouldn't want to see him back at the club. Problem is, with the clubs dire situation, in all likelihood we are going to have to put up with some dubious characters running the club. Little prospect of ethical attracting ownership, unfortunately.

The reality may well be that as legal costs are rarely awarded against unsuccessful claimants then it would have been cheaper for Morris to settle out of court.
Or that he was going to lose anyway so there was no mileage in then adding his own legal fees to the compensation that he would have had to pay out to Rush.
He may also have wanted to avoid unsavoury behaviour on his part being regurgitated in the press during the reporting of the case.
Whatever option you choose it doesn't reflect well on Morris.

The apparent feigned injury would certainly have annoyed Rooney but, if it is true that Marshall refused to go along with the wage deferral last year and was then "ill" or "injured" so didn't play I am happy that Rooney is taking a principled stand. Don't understand why Marshall didn't leave in the window just gone because his chances of playing for Scotland are zero if he is not getting game time somewhere.
He also made more mistakes than I would have expected of a seasoned international so we are left with Roos or Allsop, neither are great but neither are mugs. Would be nice to have an England international (WBA) but they have parachute cash and obviously we don't
