europia reacted to Phuket Ram in The Kirchner-Morris Summit Meeting
Here are some facts which might explain the impasse:
The MSD debt is said to be around £23m. The debt is OWED by DCFC (not by Mel Morris) but is secured against the Stadium. If MSD calls in the debt, then DCFC has to pay it, otherwise MSD will take the deeds to the stadium and will presumably sell to the highest bidder. DCFC has no means to pay the MSD debt. DCFC or KC have no means to buy the stadium This means that whoever OWNS the stadium, ultimately is responsible for the MSD Debt.
I suspect MM wants to sell the ground, along with the MSD charge against it, for, say £20-23m.
This again means that the MSD debt doesn't get paid, and whoever then owns the stadium, is responsible for any default in debt repayments.
So I think what KC is saying is, MEL: Sell the stadium AND use the money to repay the debt to MSD.
And MEL is saying "Nope. The £20m debt is DCFC's debt. I've already lost £200m. So.... deal with it. That's what the administrators were called in for!!!
All in all, there are only 2 possible outcomes:
Mel caves and GIVES us back the stadium, or somebody with loads of cash buys the stadium....and the club....
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you...... MIKE ASHLEY!

Do we actually know, as fact, that he has been frustrating the process?

Just like CK is choosing not to now. This is a very funny line to beat MA with. ? How many weeks of exclusivity has CK had and he won't deal with Morris but wants the stadium!

Perhaps we could ask Geldarts LLP. No, scrub that, we owe them a quarter million.
Its a nice thought Keith, but no thanks. I know this forum is only a microcosm of the Rams fanbase, but whilst having a 1/20,000th share of PP would be nice, can you imagine if the management executive quorum was:
@B4ev6is
@RoyMac5
@Curtains
@kevinhectoring
@one_chop

Whatever he ends up being in the long term, he appears to be the man to save us from oblivion in the short term which is priority one and overrides anything else at this point.
My take on him is that he is a habitual entrepreneur. He is taking us over for the challenge, and the possibility that he will make some money either by selling the club for more than he invests in it or by getting us to the PL and doing it that way. His decisions in the weeks, months and years to come will likely be made on that basis.

Parachute payments are the football equivalent of "Golden Goodbyes" in the general business world, nothing more than a reward for failure.
Joe Bloggs on the shop-floor flucks-up, he gets sacked. The Chief Exec flucks-up and he gets paid-off, go figure.

I somehow can't see him queuing up in the Neptune on matchday after consuming a full English round the corner in Wetherspoons. If he does it'll only be the once as a token gesture.
However if he does I'll give him a nudge and wave my half empty glass at him to get me one in. Another few twists in the saga before the weekend I predict.

Couldn't care less what CK has to say on tw@tter or any other social media. What matters is when (and if) the deal to buy the club is concluded, then the dust settles, we see whether we start next season on 0 pts or minus 15 pts, find out who we are renting the ground from and if there is funding to enable a squad rebuild.... these are the key factors to make a judgement on. Just my opinion of course ?

What a tool. Exactly why flares shouldn't be taken inside football grounds.

Radio Derby are starting to release the video interviews from last Thursday's event on Twitter.
No interview for 70s as recipient didn't do one, but 80s and 90s are there.
Look out for 2010s - it's brilliant!
The full programme will be worth listening to as well, there are lots more nuggets of information on there.

europia reacted to Carl Sagan in The Doomsday scenario - or - Frank does us over again
We know Ashley has the money. We know Ashley wouldn't want to waste time in League One, but wants to compete with the big boys in the Premier League. We know Ashley has gained a lot of experience of running a football club, after a very bad start.
I would take Ashley over Kirchner (who we really don't know if he's got the money) every time.

We simply have to accept the fact that Rooney will leave us for a 'better' job st some point, and that point may arrive more quickly than we'd like.
That's just the simple reality of our situation. Rooney is an ambitious man, he'll back himself.

The amount of money lost due to furlough fraud or error is put at around £5.5 billion....let that figure sink in for a moment.
Especially if you were one of the people Sunak decided wasn't eligible for furlough payments.

europia reacted to AndyinLiverpool in Inside story on Nigel Pearson's sacking
It seems utterly bizarre that Morris would hire someone to shake things up then side with the people that needed shaking up.
Something doesn't ring true about this story.

europia reacted to Tyler Durden in Inside story on Nigel Pearson's sacking
I was in favour of Pearson starting as he was a solid league manager with some good experience behind him.
Unfortunately his modus operandi is to be a very abrasive character and probably didn't go down very well with some of the more sensitive characters in our dressing room whom were probably far too big for their boots at this point anyway.
Combined with his chairman undermining him by allegedly spying on his training sessions and encouraging players to run and tell tales on him then it was only going to end up one way.

europia got a reaction from jimtastic56 in The whole squad wants to stay.
Not sure where all this money is coming from? I think I read somewhere that the clubs now owes HMRC more than £35m. Tough times ahead. Players like Bielik and Lawrence are luxuries that a L1 club in deep financial trouble surely cannot afford.
