FKANorwichExile got a reaction from Kinder in Our "Why Wall"...
My Dad worked at the BBG as a chef for the executive boxes, I'd just started watching football and all my friends were Liverpool or Forest fans so I was desperate to start going to matches, so one day he snuck me in with him.
I know it's cliché, but the second I stepped foot in the ground I just knew. That place was something else. I'd hang around in the boxes from 11am watching the highlight packages on the tiny TVs they had, watch the game from wherever I could, and then stand in the corner of the kitchen (it was a box, and a small one at that) until cleandown was done, then we'd go over to the players lounge so I could get the same autographs each week.
Sadly it all ended when the Pride Park move happened and they hired actual caterers, but the hooks were well in by then. Me and the old man still go when we can, but I never managed to talk him out of being a Spurs fan...

FKANorwichExile got a reaction from angieram in Who is the new no.8 we've signed?
He was everywhere. The biggest and best change for me was building from the back. Wildsmith either quickly rolled it out to Bird if he was deep enough, or got it down field. No sideways passing from CB to CB forcing Birdy to come back to start every move.
I really think this will be his breakout year. He's so much more than a defensive midfield kicker. That switch pass for the 2nd was glorious.

There were points last season where Lewis Carroll would have gotten a game...

FKANorwichExile got a reaction from Crewton in Eiran Cashin
He looked utterly spent by the end today, but what a performance. You'd have thought he was the old head of the back 4. I'm trying not to get too excited, because I remember swearing blind that Miles Addison would be England captain, but he is such a talent.

FKANorwichExile got a reaction from RamuelLJackson in Colin Kazim-Richards - Signed for Fatih Karagümrük
Far better than anyone here expected from a journeyman, drenched in class. Without the injury record last season, I'm fully sure he gets another year. He'll go down as an unsung hero for sure.

Honestly, after last season he can have the keys to Pride Park if he wants them. Give the man what he wants; he's too important to the youngsters.

It'd certainly play to his ego. He'd be the biggest fish in the pond by a mile and he'd look like a star. Banging in goals in League 1 would be better for his international plans than being decent in the Champ. Its probably beyond hope, but fingers are crossed.

He was frustrating, but I really don't understand the hate for him. If he gave us 8 games of 6/10 and 2 of 9/10, that's still far better than most of our squad for the past five or so years. I think Rooney understood him, you get the best out of ego players by making them important - hence the captaincy when there were far better options. He worked harder last season alone than the previous three combined.
Realistically, there's no way we can replace his creativity or goals with frees or lower league players, but I can't see him re-signing. I'd be happy with us building an attack around him because his movement and drive allowed more pedestrian players to shine.

Would have been all over this 4 years ago, so sounds like a lock-in Derby signing ?♂️

FKANorwichExile got a reaction from Carl Sagan in Jason Knight
I feel for Knight. It's like young players aren't allowed to play their natural game now in case they're pigeonholed as lazy.
So what we get is a lad working his balls off, and management forgetting he's actually a talented and skilled footballer and just seeing a workrate.
He's practically played every outfield position already, no wonder he's not found a niche. He's not been allowed to.
If he does go, hopefully we get Clarke in exchange. If not, hopefully we get a manager who understands how to deploy him.

Surely one of the biggest recipients of this award goes to Billy Davies, gets us promoted and then says I wish it was Preston..what a total tool.
