We’ve signed a player in James Collins who scored 25 goals for Luton last time he played in League 1, he then bagged 15 in the championship the following season. Had a bad time at Cardiff but several factors there namely the manager who brought him in they got rid of. Proven at this level and will get goals because he does the right things

He’s had the right service so far. Could easily have scored 3 or 4. Thwarted by woodwork and desperate blocks off the line. We’re creating chances

Yeah, I always thought Mallik Wilks was always a strange one as a number of teams could offer a transfer fee or loan fee. We couldn't. It was never going to happen. Kyle Joseph was a similar one, but he wasn't as highly sought after as Wilks.
We're shopping in a very small pool and sometimes you can be as creative as possible, but ultimately we're always fighting a losing battle. Grabban is probably our best hope at this stage.

Also, given that football didn’t start in 1992 it was around for over 100 years before that  we should also pay attention to the all time top flight league table, the one that has us 16th with Forest 22nd with 350 points to make up on us.

Nottingham Forest-great ground, great fans, proper football man owning them. Great to see them back in the Prem.
Leeds Utd-maybe biggest team in the country after Man Utd. Proper fans, proud history, always admired the way they play.
Chelsea-lovely bunch of fans, always been a huge club. Hope thet keep doing things the right way under their current owner. Love what they do with all their young players, giving them a chance to play at little clubs.
Boro-my 2nd team really, a real sleeping giant. Hope their chairman can guide them back to where they belong. He deserves success with all he has done for football.

They were bumming around Divisions 2 and 3 for 30 years either side of WW2, getting gates of around 10,000, when we were mostly challenging for the League Championship.
Interestingly, they had two seasons in Division 3 South at the start of the 1950s, rather than the northern section, which makes them practically cockneys ?

I must say this has been keeping me up at night.  With everything else happening over the last couple of years it's still on my mind on a constant basis.  Sure everyone has been just as stressed and irritability at home has been noticed.  I'm off to bed with some headache tablets and whale music and hopefully get more than a couple of hours.

I’m hearing those who are critical complaining their opinions aren’t being valued and being chastised for being negative. Everyone has their opinion but be prepared to stand your ground and prepare to have your opinion attacked especially if you’re talking complete and utter b*******.

The only reason to be negative today is the result, and results are not really important right now because we are in Game 5! There’s another 41 games to play and guess what we’re not far off where we want to be in the table which is also positive considering this is a team assembled 6 weeks ago and we’ve had at least a week less preseason than everyone else in what was already a short preseason.

Remember one season under Clough (Nigel)  where we won 6 of the first 8 games against some decent opposition. But nearly all of those wins weren’t deserved, the opposition were better we rode our luck massively. The performance levels of the team weren’t good enough and as a result we followed this run with a long winless streak and went down well into the bottom half to recover and finish mid-table top half which was that teams maximum capability. That is why you cannot look purely at results and especially this early in the season. You have to look at performance.
The reason we’ve not scored goals in the past couple of years is because we’ve been too defensive in the set up (probably due to squad limitations) and we didn’t get enough players forward to support attacks, all our play was in front of teams and we barely created 1 good chance per game. Tuesday was reminiscent of last season and was not good enough, but Charlton and today we did everything but score, we dominated created lots of chances more importantly gave away very little chances, if we continue like that we will win games.

If we play another 10 games and we’re still not scoring and we’re dropping down the league that’s the time to be concerned. But I genuinely believe our level of performance will be sustained and when it matters we translated into results and we’ll be fighting at the sharp end of the league. It’s too simplistic to say we’re not scoring goals now that’s how it’s going to be going forward. To say that is ignoring what’s actually happening.
Another parallel, we went a Month without scoring before we smashed Forest 5-0.

No team has an average of 20 shots and an average of 0 goals over a season. Not in the history of football. I'd challenge any team to find one.
It is impossible for this to continue. One of two things will happen; 1.) the chances will dry up completely or 2.) we start putting them away.
At present, short of putting on his boots and finding the net himself, I'm not sure what Liam Rosenior can do other than convince his players the goals will come. Some saying it's a psychological issue but personally I'm skeptical that Collins is missing the goal due to some unresolved childhood trauma.
If the first scenario does happen, it's a coaching issue and then it would be time to look elsewhere.
There's lots of reasons to be optimistic that number 2 will happen. Those saying "it's the same story as last season" is only true in the fact we're not scoring goals. Last season, we only really scored and looked competitive against footballing sides with a high-press, where we'd create very high quality chances and would see clinical finishing. This season, we're also able to create chances against sides with a low block, but we can't hit a barn door with a banjo.
Let's not forget, we're out of administration, but we're still a club laden with debt. Keeping CKR or signing another striker is one obvious solution to what's happening. You cannot blame Rosenior for that.

Better start to the season than I'd hoped for. Despite being a brand new team thrown together very quickly we are playing some nice stuff at times and creating loads of chances. Liam needs to be brave and believe in his way of playing, the worst thing he can do at the moment is listen to criticism from fans.
Hopefully he has been around football for long enough to know that fans are generally very fickle (not having a go at any on here, its just a football thing that happens).
We have had an horrendous couple of of years and we stuck together to keep our club alive. Its now back to normal where some fans think we should win every game and have a sense of superiority over so called smaller teams. Perhaps these fans are embarrassed to draw at Fleetwood if they work with gumps? Whatever, tell them to eff off or ignore them, it doesn't matter.
We are where we are, we are fighting to build a squad capable of getting us out of this tough division. So far, Liam seems to be doing everything right, the players have gelled far quicker than is normal and despite still getting to know each other are dominating games, working hard for each other and the gaffer.
We will not win every game, we will have to be patient, but if the team continues to create chances we will start to convert draws into wins......its not going to be easy but from what I've seen so far I believe we are on the right track.
Others have mentioned Brian Clough and Jim Smith, I was a bit young when Clough came in 1967 but I can clearly remember Jim getting grief early on before Igor arrived part way through the season we got promoted......
After all we'd been through I am a bit disappointed that a few on here are so quick to moan, but its half a dozen folks on a forum that only 5% (if that) of our fanbase uses, so nowt to worry or fall out about.
As long as we all do our best to get behind the players every match, thats the only important thing, and never forget, thats the only thing what us fans can do to actually influence results.
    Come on you Rams ?

I watched the game today, and I'd argue it was very entertaining creating so much pressure and chances away from home.
Frustrating that we didn't score, but I was encouraged by the performance, not downbeat.
