I respect your opinion but I consider him to be average 

Don’t see why we should take any points deduction. Fine is quite enough for a “technical “ guilty verdict passed by a panel with no accountants after a not guilty verdict from a panel that includes accountants. 

To often we let players go on the cheap and that is part of the reason why we are in a mess.

My thoughts are similar. In the last few games of the season he (for me) was not very influential. Interesting comments though from the DET about his games for Ireland :

Based on that maybe we should think twice before we dispose of our Crown Jewels....

Look buddy dont let brother you but see what you are saying shuffed  right in your face every two seconds but for me what upset some people saying black lifes matter when should all lifes matter but it way protests and destroyed things and trying get rid of histroy that they dont like got peoples backs  up.

While your points are valid, I only really used Brentford as an example of a club who have put a heavy focus on smart recruitment. I could have used other clubs as examples.
The point being, a focus on recruitment gambles on your ability to pick the right people from the talent pool. A focus on the academy gambles on whether the talent pool is even there at all.

Stoke - have loads of money but not allowed to spend it 
Middlesbrough - always sticking their noses in when it’s about money and not being very good 
Derby - every agent in football wants a player to sign for Derby based on the last 10 years.

We need to keep wisdom as he was one of our leading goal scorers last season 
that goal at Wycombe ultimately kept us up and Wycombe down ! 

Not many championship ready centre half’s on that list ! First priority I would think ?

In what way is he better? What are his strengths and skills. How much of him have you seen?

So much conjecture on here. The counter-argument is that if more than one club is interested in Knight, we'll get the going rate. Clubs will only be able to dry hump us if they are the only potential buyer.
I'd also wager that if as seems to be the case, a sensible bid may be coming in for the club, the least thing they are going to want is to allow the cream of our youth to leave for buttons, especially when they will be amongst the lowest earners on our books and are FFP neutral. That makes literally zero commercial sense.

At least it won’t take long to read the retained list when it comes out.
