I think the EFL are being very clever over this. They've realised the biggest punishment they can impose on us is uncertainty and to delay our planning for next season. Without needing a judicial review or any approval they are impacting directly our chances for next season, and it doesn't cost them a penny, all they have to do is stall and delay.

Their stadium is probably worth more than ours - their pitch has barely been used, given the amount of time the ball spends in the air.

Regardless of the outcome, the EFL have lost any credibility to govern the league and if anything, our case has brought out the need to completely rebuild the hierarchy in charge of our division.
When the EFL originally lost the case against Mel and DCFC, the honorable thing to do by the EFL would have been to accept that loopholes in the rules were exposed and used to our advantage, however that is not down to the club being in the wrong. The accounts were signed off. They have taken zero responsibility for their part in this mess and have taken all steps to cover their failings. I am a critic of how Mel has ran the football club however I will back him against these muppets.
If the EFL had questioned our practices at the time, the club would have needed to accept the consequences for breaking rules. This was authorised by the league. If I was at work and I signed off somebody's documentation, I would be the one responsible for any repercussions if there were problems.
    Not fit for purpose.

The sad thing is the the EFL seem to be punishing us anyway because of all these colossal delays in declaring the results of the enquiry, appeal, panel, etc, which means we have been under transfer embargo several times already. And if this latest outcome isn't made before the transfer window shuts we will have been well and truly punished because we already don't have a squad because of all the out of contract players and all the loan players going back, and us having no time to replace them. We really struggled last season with what passed for a full squad. How can we compete when we could easily have hardly any players available?
Come on EFL, get your finger out.

It’s Beilik for me. And quite the opposite reason that his missing so many games made many people put their vote elsewhere.

Because he missed so many games, he is the least responsible for the absolute rubbish the players and coaching staff served up to us most of the time.

And when he did play ............ WOW!!!

The late great John Wetton RIP.
Born in Willington and lifelong Rams fan.
For those on here who know nowt about good music, John Wetton was the Bassist & Vocalist with Family, King Crimson, UK and Asia during the 70s and 80s.
In case the bands above aren't familiar, these bands also featured ex members of Roxy Music, Yes, ELP, Soft Machine, Lifetime, Gong,  and of course not forgetting the Buggles (Video Killed the Radio Star).  Special bonus point to anyone who can name the musician who played in 4 of the bands mentioned here.  Special bonus point also to anyone who can name the other 2 musicians with whom Wetton formed a short lived trio in the late 1970s that rehearsed together but never released an album.
    Best places to start are:
    Caught in the Crossfire (solo)
    Red (King Crimson)
    UK (UK)
    Asia (Asia)

On the basis that the EFL clearly act when threatened by member clubs, would it be possible for us to threaten them if they do not retrospectively investigate Middlesbrough for selling their tax losses to a group company?

They can back date our embargo over the last year, and we should be arguing that we have already lost points due to being unable to conduct transfer windows properly thanks to the EFL's 18 months of sheer incompetence dragging us through this process.

Looking at other team’s forums and the heart warming responses on Twitter and the like makes you realise how people blindly lap up anything printed in the Daily Mail. No wonder we are stuck with Boris Johnson for the next 200 years. I had a read to check the number of modal verbs used in that badly written article and subsequently found another article that said our survival was ‘one of the most dismal sights of the weekend’.
I love the unbiased tone of that article. I am going to presume that Mel Morris has become friends with Jeremy Corbyn. I think it is the most likely explanation for this love affair they have developed with us, whilst conveniently ignoring all other transgressions, as pointed out elsewhere.
Personally I draw comfort from knowing that no matter how much that awful rag hates us, it will never be as much as I despise it and it’s bigoted, badly written divisive poo.

I reckon Waghorn will be a Ram next season. I have just read a meme quoting Rooney saying "When i was a player me and Waghorn were really close, and wold be playing on the Playstation all the time. When i became manager i had to distance myself from him and that really hurt .......................".  That does make sense - watching them working together at free-kicks, in particular the one against Stoke which meant the keeper had no idea which way the ball was going to go said there was a good friendship between them. I poo-pooed it at the time because of the gulf in skill and ability, b ut there it is. It also explains how Waggy could produce n othing for match after match and still get picked.
What Waggy needs to do is produce what he did today on a regular basis. Who knows what he can achieve if he does that.

Well trying what hasn't worked all season didn't work again in the first half. However the goal wasn't Fozzy's fault for not heading the ball clear - he was given a massive whack in the back as he jumped for the ball, but no free kick given. Qu'elle surprise! But it wasn't the ref's fault that Wednesday scored - all the way through the first we has watched them be first to the loose ball and first to the second ball, so it was no surprise that we watched them bundle the ball over the line. In addition, Wednesday pressed and harried us all the time, while we gave them the freedom of the pitch. We have proved that high pressing works, but as ever we simply couldn't be bothered.
What happened at half time I don't know, but we were much more threatening in the second half, although we had threatened the gaol far more than the Wendies in the first half. And then the magic few moments to put us in front - great work from Tom, Waggy and Roberts, who couldn't miss his chance, despite wearing a Derby forward's shirt!
At which point we promptly started sitting back and trying to defend our huge one goal lead. It doesn't work. And it didn't work. 2 - 2, alth9ough how a player who is the only one on the goal line when the ball comes through him isn't offside I'll never know. Another crap refereeing decision which could have meant relegation, but as ever it was our own fault that the chance was even there, because we sat back instead of pushing for another goal, which at  the time, we needed to make sure.
Joswiack coming on was a real benefit because he has a "Lets get at them2 mentality, and holds the ball really well. IN reality it showed what we should have done from the start - get on the front foot and cause them trouble. You could say that he drew the foul for the penalty, but all he was doing was going for goal, with the foul coming as a result of pushing forwards. Sadly, I cold have scored Robert's second chance, and I'm 64 years old and have no boots! Thankfully it didn't matter, and the Rotherham  chairman can now spend the entire close season shouting insults and threats to the match officials, and listen to the echoes all by himself.
Waggy really earned the shirt today - did you hear the clatter as he hit the goal post in the first half - I was sure he was going to hospital  for that. Well done him! He was worth the shirt today, but that is just one match, with him blagging the shirt on a freebie for the rest of the season. And thankfully the players did leave everything on the pitch today. Well done. What about all the other matches, where you carted it all back of to the changing rooms?
What today showed is that we do have sufficient ability to be much higher up the league table than we have been, and that largely our problems have come from admittedly from what the players do or don't do on the pitch, but more than that it has been cause by poor team selection, poor tactics, and poor substitutions.
Here's to much, much better next season.

The fact it went down to the last game of the season is relevant. All teams played 46 games, Derby managed to get more points than 3 teams which meant we are a championship team next season. You can argue the fact that Wednesday had a points deduction, but everyone including them knew this at the start of the season. Looking at today's game and with sky sports replays, the first goal came from a throwing that was ours (Forsyth never touched the ball). Their 3rd goal was scored by a player in an offside position. If there was VAR it would have resulted in a 3-1 win to the Rams.
And please, lets not have anyone stating Rotherham having to play all those games in hand over such a short period of time hindered them. When they pulled the Covid card (not once but Twice) they did have enough players to play their games. The EFL should have adopted the same ruling as the FA, Derby played their cup game against Chorley with enough fit players. It is what it is, we are in the championship for next season, lets go again (Barnsley did this season).
