That club statement is cleverly worded to imply Derby have only committed a small crime.
In a nutshell then:
Morris and Pearce have ducked up.
A points deduction and transfer embargo will possibly result in Rooney leaving and us going the way of Sheffield Wednesday.
Boot Alonso into touch and look for a credible buyer ASAP.
oh, and Steve Gibson can do one. 
 
 

Worst punishment would be a transfer embargo. 
If we have to take the existing squad less loanees and out of contract players into next season they might as well deduct twenty points. 

In the thread 'Rooney In', @Highgate argued one of the reasons we should dispense with Rooney's services is:
"Sacking him will mean we won't have to look at the 'Wayne Rooney's DCFC fans' anymore."
To the mods.... Help us reclaim our club. Even if we must have a celebrity in the managerial hot seat, and it seems we must, then at least let this forum lead the way in showing the world that the club is bigger than any individual.

There has been some utterly moronic and overstated criticism of him at times.
He's made a solid contribution in his time at the club, statistically comparable to some players who are held in a much higher regard (and who played in better teams) when you look at minutes on the pitch to goal contributions and consider how often he's been asked to switch roles from wide player to striker and back again.
He can be frustrating, yes, and stupid, yes, but honestly no more than the majority of players - it's just that every time he does something 'bad' there seems to be a queue of some very unforgiving people, waiting to jump on his back and call him poo 

Been a tough season for him especially, but man did he deliver in that game yesterday.
Just watching the highlights again. He effectively kept us up. Nearly cut himself in two on the post, scored the header, great hold-up and chest down for Roberts, slotted Jozwiak through and had the balls to hammer in a superb penalty.
His Derby career has been a very mixed bag and I feared the worst first minute when the ball pinged about 10 yards off his shin and he went steaming into the challenge, thankfully missing the guy.
I’ll take his mixed bag career for what he fid yesterday. I’m quite sure that’s it for him here, so all the best and thanks for yesterday!

He might be a chancer who pulls things off sometimes, but I'm still wary.
As the journo freirnd of the ramswriter podcast said, Alonso is rich, but not football club owner rich so must have backing to make it viable. It could be he's got to work around something to pass the EFL test on his sources of funds.

It never cease to amaze me how suddenly people become experts in business, finance and football takeovers - when in reality, their only expertise is on kebabs, eBay and Amazon. 
All I care about is being able to watch my team, hopefully do well, be entertained - and that’s it. 
I’ll just chill my beanz and watch other ‘know it all’s’ go in to sizemic meltdowns ?

Seriously though, this is from the outside looking in a decision of hypocrisy as he’s been sacked for causing a risk to the public... as a passenger! The two drivers should have been sacked.
Surely Keogh will appeal and if he wins that then this whole sorry saga will plumb new depths.
Such a sad end to a great servants career, he’ll be remembered for two negative events.

Because the club statement justifying Keogh’s sacking is completely at odds with retaining Bennett and Lawrence… and if you really don’t believe it’s a PR disaster then just have a search on Twitter. Can’t remember the last time United fans were talking about us.
