I wonder what the fall out was about, sounds like a pretty decent grudge being held for so long!

I’m mates with a guy called Chris Peacock, a rather embarrassing affliction

I always thought Lee Carsley was a donkey, had a great career at Everton

We should have listened to the Snake Rowett at the time.
Perhaps Rowett was also told a bunch of lies when he joined? Then after one season, was then told there was no money and he'd have to sell everyone? The real Snake remained at Pride Park, ready to cause more carnage.
I’d absolutely not thought of it like this, good point

Not a dig, but if it was Liam Rosenior in charge and he was also in his first managerial job (having got the job in phony circumstances) while being the highest paid manager in the Championship, then yes I think he and many others in that position would have stuck with the club.
And none of those others would have been given freedom of the city

What's the contract situation on that Bobby Duncan chap? From what I can find online, he signed a 3 year contract in 2020 summer, so he'll have another year. Or has he been released already and I missed it?
He's a complete bell end

There's a difference between being offered a new contract and Tom accepfing it.
(Off topic) I get the 'short career, needs to do the best for himself and family, no loyalty in football etc. etc.' but I still firmly believe Tom owes us one - even just the cashflow of signing a new contract to then be sold fairly cheap a week later would help us massively financially.
We put a lot of faith in Tom from day one and that faith has increased tenfold to him being captain and talisman. Yes, he's been stupid on and off the pitch and had very difficult times personally but we've stood by him when we've ditched others for less.

I’d obviously love Notts Forest to bottle it again, but to be fair if they’re going to go up any season I’d probably pick this one, we won’t play them next season regardless of their result but the season after (I’m praying!), it’ll be all the more sweeter when we smash them twice over.

I'm not wanting to be a mood hoover but think it's important we be realistic. The EFL will have us under stringent financial control with the business plan.
I think I heard the average wage for a League One player is £4.5k a week, our current cap, and assumed likely to be our cap next season - so effectively we're looking at players of average League One quality (obviously hopefully we find a few gems that don't quite know their worth yet). In my mind it sort of means broadly that half of the teams in League One can offer better terms/more money to players than we can.
Say we tie down a squad of 25 (re-sign-ers and freebies) + plus signing on fees we're looking at a (contractual) spend of £10-20m right off the bat and I'm not sure if this will fit in with the EFL approved business plan.
I think we have to look at this as a very slow rebuild, 5, 10, 15 years sadly.

What we accepting for him then lads? £2m? £2.5m?

I mean with it being April the 1st, I’m trying so hard to believe this is a wind up… but knowing us, it’s probably true

Joking aside, who legislates/audits the Administrators? How would someone discover/uncover/identify a 'criminal', 'dodgy' etc Administrator? Not for any second suggesting any administrators are such. But in the same way shady accountants are uncovered, surely shady admins exist?

We'll get a bit of cash back won't we?
Probably a high earner (in our current terms anyway) and doesn't seem particularly well suited to the Championship and doesn't appear to fancy scrapping at the bottom of League One next season.
Worse would be if we couldn't get rid of him and we were stuck paying his wages without him playing. -
I'm bored now.
