Had a quick gander. Don't normally as it's a humour free zone and the forum is so ugly it makes my eyes hurt. Turns out, they seem nearly as obsessed with you as they are with Derby County FC. Hilariously so, to be honest.

Not sure how you've managed to get their tits so twisted but fair play mate, fair play! ?

They really love @Crewton over there. Think he's on the verge of getting his own thread ?

Rooney will (and should) be perceived as another rookie manager, can’t see them opting for a untried legend signing. They probably will need a proven top level coach right now, just to ensure they start firing again; because everything looks a bit broke.

I’m wondering if Lampard with Clement and Cole without Jody isn’t a great set up either. You have to wonder, was Jody the real coaching talent out the two of them?

Everton dont have a lot of wiggle room when it comes to cash. Their losses over the last few years are insane. Might not be able to afford an experienced manager or to sack too many

Thought we were the better team against the world champions

Didnt say we weren't. Said we choked under the pressure. Whuch we did. Again. Can't beat the big teams. Doesn't matter how well you play if we lose.

We didn't 'choke under the pressure.' We gave everything and were just unlucky. A 50/50 game that we lost. It happens.

We did choke under the pressure. Harry Kane - mr reliable blasted his penalty well over the bar. That is the very definition of choking under pressure. And Southgate chokes with every decision he makes.

And sorry i don't believe in stuff like luck, ghost stories, the tooth fairy, etc. It is England being unable to cope with the big games, which has been the case in every single tournament ive seen them play in during my lifetime.

  4. We're good at beating teams like Wales and Iran, but as soon as we come up against another quality team we choke under the pressure and lose virtually every single time.

I just hope that we can get ourselves a new manager now that isnt an FA yes man.

The Spanish league was better than the Premier League for a good seven or eight years between 2008-2016. It was only when Pep, Klopp and Conte moved over to the PL that it took over.

Spanish teams regularly outperformed their English counterparts in Europe (Not just in the CL but Europa League too) while the points gained strongly suggested it was more competitive.

Nah. Its been two teams in Spain for the past 20 years with one or two others occassionally taking part as well. The rest of the league has been abysmal for decades.

And being competitive in Europe doesn't mean your league is competitive.

We’re at the crunch end of the tournament now. Morocco and Croatia are underdogs, but the other six are genuine challengers.

I think the semi-finals will be Holland vs Brazil and England vs Portugal.

If England don’t win it, then I’d want Messi to.

    Anyone but Portugal.

I hope your predictions for the other 2 quarter finals are better than your first two!

Wasted his career really. Left Barca to score loads of goals vs weak French league teams, then never getting too far in Champs League or World Cup.

The Spanish league isnt exactly competitive either though. Half the league is a bunch of farmers. He left Barca cos he didnt want to play second fiddle anymore. Both leagues allow him to score dozens of goals against crap teams

Juventus could be relegated from Serie A, with the current investigation into the club referred to as the 'heaviest' in their history, by an Italian lawyer.

Given their past this must be catastrophically serious if its the heaviest in their history. Not exactly been squeaky clean over the years

So, they have told the club "sign the lease or get out" then.

"We look forward to you accepting our terms Mr SISU...."

They could have accepted the original offer that was on the same terms as they already had, but chose not to. No idea what the revised offer is, but SISU seem to have shot themselves in both feet

I suspect the conditions behind are wildly different to ours - but I still can't help but feel we may have dodged a Mike Ashley shaped bullet.

The stars truly did align for us to have Clowes.

I'm very happy we got Clowes as our owner, but I presume this is a negotiating tactic by Ashley. Might be a shitty way to go about it, but completely different to our situation.

And to think people were campaigning for that Bamford to buy our club.  Not so much dodged a bullit, but an intercontinental ballistic missile.  What a mother funker...

Yes I'm sure it would have been much better to just cease to exist. Ashley is still better than no club and we had very few options at the time until Clowes stepped in to save us.

Foden’s our best player imho  Must start

    Sterling/Kane is a hopeless combo

Yeh i fully agree. I wish he would pick the players who are playing the best at club level. Sterling has not had a great season at Chelsea

Foden is first name on the team sheet for me.

It is so frustrating having a failed manager like Southgate in charge of some of the best attacking talent we've had in years.

I know he got us to a final, but i am not giving any of the credit to him

I’d like to know what Phil Foden has done to upset Gareth

Not one of his golden boys.

No reason why the likes of stirling or Maguire should be playing, but doesnt stop Gareth picking them.

Grealish and Foden should both be starting

I guess you could only compare it Turkey coming with their, I dunno, Ottoman get up. Saracen star and crescents everywhere. Medieval armor. Would people here find it provocative? Hmmm, probably not many.

But our media loves the Middle East barbarian goat herders stereotype. Stoning women and hanging gays. Always seems to me they paint the worst of them. Maybe it's just because I'm easily triggered by such stuff

Nobody would care at all. William Wallace was knocking around at the same time as the last crusader lands fell on the mainland. In the developed world people don't care about things that happened almost a millenium ago. And in case you forget the lands taken by the crusaders were Christian in the first place - nobody would care if a group of Arabs came to England dressed as invading Muslim soldiers.

Do you know why they media portrays these countries as barbarians? Its because virtually all of them have discriminatory laws against homosexuals - some have the death penalty and others just ban it entirely and they all score very poorly when it comes to womens rights. The Arabian peninsula also treats other ethnicities extremely poorly. The media has absolutely nothing to do with their poor reputation - stop trying to find excuses for them

I can see a breakaway in the future, UEFA and FIFA don't get along, The powerbase for football is Europe in the main, UEFA need to call their bluff, FIFA would be then a toothless Tiger a roar but no bite.

    Watch this space.

UEFA is by far the most powerful of the confederations. All of the most watched leagues and all of the biggest club sides are in Europe. 11 of the top 15 in Fifas rankings are European sides. UEFA has a lot of power and I hope they use it to either make some drastic changes within FIFA or alternatively just leave the organisation entirely.

Is Paulo still involved with the national team? Hope not with that score. He has to be up there with all time Derby heroes yes? Certainly for me at OT that oh so memorable day.

Dunno what he is doing now, but he had to resign didnt he after he had a punch up with a steward.

Japan are aiming for a World Cup win by 2050. I’m all for it, more power to them. Imagine a team outside of South America or Europe winning it. And I like that they have a plan and a realistic target. Not next World Cup, but it’ll be interesting to see their progression over the next 30 years.

China are aiming to win it by 2050 as well. Can't see China doing it at all as their squad is still very weak, but I think Japan stands a chance and maybe even South Korea eventually. It would be great to see a nation outside of South America or Europe win it

Wish our club invested more in the women’s game. We have free cash and the EFl would certainly let us. It’s the future

Maybe if we were in the Prem they might or if prize money increases, but its nowhere near worth it at the moment from a business perspective even if we were regularly winning the super league. You might make some money back if we could get large crowds in for them, but you won't win much for winning the league. Until recently it was zero prize money.

Yes you could argue its a long term investment, but how long term. We aren't exactly flush with cash at the moment, but we do put a fiar amount of resources into the womens team already.

Iran are dreadful - how did they qualify?

Have you seen their qualifying group? South Korea are the only other real competition in it. Lebanon, the UAE, Syria and Iraq are hardly giants of football...

Lampard used Derby in a one-season splurge then dumped us.

    His behavior still rankles me.

I expect Forest to go down. But it would be amazing if Lampard joins them in taking Everton down.

It would also complete the package and seal the ‘big six’ tag with Everton being the only other club not to be relegated since the PL reform.

Are you complaining he spent a lot of money or something else? Still not entirely sure what your beef is with him.

If its spending money blame Mel Morris even most of that seasons spend was covered by the vydra sale.

He got us into the playoff final against the odds and then left to go to his absolute dream job, which also happened to be one of the wealthiest, most succesful clubs in english football.

I know Derby fans can be irrational at times, but how anyone can hold a grudge against lampard is beyond me.

You know 3 teams go down right? You can have your cake and eat it.

Que? I don't really understand what you are saying. I couldnt give a toss if Everton go down or not. They are completely meaningless to virtually any Derby fan.
