Genuine question. If it came down to it, who would you rather go down - Forest or Lampard’s Everton?

If there is one silver lining to the unbelievable luck (and subsequent results) Forest have had recently, it does put the likes of media darlings West Ham and Everton under increasing pressure.

Who the f*** cares about Lampard? Used to be our manager and now he isn't. Soon as he left the club thats all interest in him gone

Would rather forest go down obviously. Not even close.

There are such a things as reference books. Help with your research. Access to IT that some cannot afford at home. Actual books that you've not been able to steal from an illegal stream. Somewhere quiet to study. CDs and DVDs. Magazines? Lots of stuff...

You don't need the library for IT access and why the hell are you stealing books? There are millions of free books legally accessible online and I don't mean just self published stuff - a lot of the classics are available for free as are a lot of research papers if you are that way inclined. At a push I will let you have university textbooks as a lot of them are extortionate, but not much else.

And virtually nobody uses CDs or DVDs anymore. As i said before technology has moved on - virtually all of this type of media is streamed online now.

And I will repeat myself again, but the library itself provides you with access to an app that allows you to access virtually any magazine on your electronic device from home. No need to go to the library at all.

Not sure what you are trying to argue, but virtually everything you stated has been made easier or replaced by the relentless march of technological progress. All the stuff you mention is going to be used by a handful of people mainly of older generations and I don't really understand why people on here are trying to criticise the youth for not visiting libraries.

I wonder how many under 35 year olds have ever been to a library to take out a book?

Technology moves on. You don't need to go to the library anymore. Derbyshire libraries do give access to a good app though that lets you access loads of different magazines, etc though, but still no need to physically go to the building. And 35 is a bit of a random age to pick - a good chunk of that age range will have grown up without the internet, etc and would probably still have gone to libraries, much like myself, if they wanted to read something but couldnt buy it.

As for the BBC I don't really care if they disappear. I don't watch or listen to anything other than the football and I don't pay for the tv licence either since I don't need it.

We could be a team that isn't in the play offs, so what will be the interest to players joining us, apart from the ability to pay a decent salary.

By football standards we can't really pay a decent salary. Probably still better than a lot of League one teams, but still limited by the business plan.

You're overlooking training, which Warne has stated has changed to shorter but more intense sessions than what we've been doing previously.
Chester played every minute in the League under Warne up until his injury. He only made his first start of the season, barely had a pre-season due to injury, and had only played 20 minutes of football since march, prior to joining us. He needed to be eased back in, especially with the intensity of training.
Barkhuizen had injury troubles last season for the first time in his career. The first 2 months where due to Covid. I niggly muscle injury ended up keeping him out for the 2nd half of the season. Whilst not injury prone, we should have considered his recent history, rather than playing him in all but 1 game this season (playing 84% of the minutes in the league).
Davies hasn't been right since he came back from injury and needed a few games out to fully recover.

Nah - training has nothing to do with it.

Barhuizen is injury prone. He had a calf injury and a foot injury last year. It tends to happen as players get older. Just because he wasn't injured as often prior to this does not mean he isn't injury prone.

Same with Chester. He is injury prone - nothing to be ashamed of, but he is getting older and will pick up injuries more often. You could argue we should have waited before playing him, but Rosenior bought him into the starting 11 and I would assume that means the staff felt he was ready to start playing.

And Davies has suffered multiple major injuries in recent years - again he is injury prone now.

We've signed whichever players we can even though they are coming towards the end of their careers now and its starting to show. There is only so much we can do with the limited squad size, but even so if our trained medical professionals feel that the players are fit to play then their should be no reason why they don't.

So, if a player has a history of injuries, surely they should be managed better to prevent more injuries occurring rather than playing them in every league game when they could probably do with a rest? Warne was a fitness coach, he should know better.

Of the 7 games that Warne has taken charge of so far Chester has played 4 to completion and another 1 where he was subbed off. Barkhuizen has played 2 to completion and has been subbed off in another 3 games. Davies has played 3 games.

Hardly overworking them is it. But yes I totally agree he should be using the vast number of other players in our tiny squad to make sure these guys only have to play once a month.

  7. 1 hour ago, Jubbs said:

James Chester - Out for up to 2 months.
Curtis Davies - Needed keyhole surgery, out for a month.
Tom Barkhuizen - Out for a month.

Does this begin to raise the question that Warne's style is causing these injuries?

    https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/derby-county-james-chester-injury-7752549

So Chester who couldn't play for us for several weeks when he got here because of injury and Curtis Davies who has suffered several major injuries in recent years and missed a lot of this season due to injury and Barkhuizen who missed a good chunk of last season at Preston because of injury are all now injured because of Warnes training style?

Quite frankly I think that is a load of b*******. These players are injury prone and part of the reason we've been able to recruit a lot of these guys is for that very reason. Warne hasn't caused all the injuries they've all had in the last couple of years and I doubt very much he is the cause of their latest injuries.

  8. Depends what his wages are really. If we're offering a longer contract in exchange for lower wages then no problem with it. If we're not paying Warne megabucks then again no problem with it, as it will keep the cost down if we ever need to get rid.

I'd say 4 years was probably a bit too long given how much we've had to pay out in the recent past, but we've got to offer something of value in our current limited financial state, so can't disagree with it too much in this instance.

It looks like Sky are happy to walk away from the table due to poor viewing figures in the Championship this season. A new article come out suggesting they will be showing less games and will therefore pay less money (no doubt still owning the rights to all the games).

It’s an opportunity for the EFL to be creative with their product bringing streaming platforms to the table, (failing that) give teams the option to control their own broadcasting rights.

Saying this, I have no doubts that they will accept a s**** deal with Sky and continue the period of austerity it has governed as it continues to eat itself.

Part of me is glad, the other is aware this will have long-term financial impact on the team I support as day-by-day we sleep walk into a situation where you simply can’t have the Premier League and EFL coexist.

They championship has lost a lot of their big teams in recent years - us, the dirties, red dogs, wednesday, etc all used to bring in a lot of viewers but are no longer in that league.

It would be nice for someone to show more than the bare minimum of efl games - especially in leagues 1 and 2

Don't think we will be going up for at least a couple of seasons probably 3

Took Sunderland 4 seasons and i dont think thats beyond the realms of possibility for us either.

I don't think we'll go up this year  given how we've cobbled the squad together and rescued the club from implosion, but i'd still give Warne time to try and build a squad.

I voted Leicester. To be honest I couldn't care less about them as a rival, but for their financial manoeuvres from a few years back I had to go for them. Football is broken though, so whoever goes down will have an enormous advantage over the rest. It's just a case of crossing fingers that they will screw it up.

I think Leicester or Leeds would probably have a good advantage if they come down, but I hear there is another team that piddled away £150 million on tik tok stars and garbage

Having spent 62 million on forwards with another 10 due on Gibbs-White, plus a one off wage bonanza of 6 million for the tik tok kid.  Despite this the constant cry is more game time for the saviour Surridge.  ?

You should see their forums. Some of them think the squad still needs time to gel ?. I think they are going to see a lot of goals going into the net in the next couple of games though - I can feel it in my bones. Maybe even double figures - that should keep them happy.

Forest continuing to do what Cooper pivoted to 3 games ago now... decided to finally play a midfield and stop being so wide open, and since then they've scored 1 goal (a header from a free kick) and haven't frankly looked like creating a chance. On the flip side, they've equally only conceded 2 in that period.

I was just looking to see how many Forest had scored so far this season and it is a very low number, but Wolves have somehow scored even fewer goals!

Respect your opinion , but I think Plymouth would beat them because City were so bad at defending corners. Apart from Foden I can’t remember many players coming through the academy for them. I suspect most of their players last night will end up in the Championship. The best way to stop their winger last night would be to cut off the supply of thru balls.

It takes time to develop academy players and they haven't be owned by the petro state for all that long. You will start to see players coming through now that have been training in the overhauled academy for 10+ years. Not many have reached the man city first team yet, but they are doing far better than our vaunted academy - better quality of players and they made a good amount of money from academy sales last year.

We have ads, just not on that level.

The most annoying one is that overlays the Tapatalk banner at the bottom of the page, requires his precision finger work to dismiss the ad, then continue in Safari. Even then it will randomly reappear.

Servers need paying for I get it, but it’s even worse the the local Live websites in terms of getting to the content.

Not even sure why they still use Tapatalk to be honest, now they have entered this century and have a responsive layout that works fine on mobile. Oh well ?‍♂️

Yeh i think you have a good balance with ads on here. To be honest i think you could probably have a few more and not really detract much from the experience.

On their forums there is one that creeps in from the corners and narrows your viewing area. And as you say the one that overlaps at the bottom is right annoying. Even after that you still have to look at ads every inch of available space

Matlock level is more or less the same level I played at many moons ago.  The difference between that level and League 1 is massive and even more so the championship where he played last year, Poland u21's as well.  No benefit to these moves what so ever.  What a load of pointless arse gravy.

We've loaned players at higher levels before and it doesn't appear to have made much difference. We can't loan to a higher level anyway. but this will at least get them some match fitness if they play.
