Stive Pesley got a reaction from Tamworthram in The Good Ole Days !
I find the whole "things aren't as good as they used to be" rose-tinted specs thing annoying
it's easy to look at the stuff that you perceive as "better" from your childhood, and forget the not so good. Human nature even
It helps to balance it by forcing yourself to give a bit of thought to the terrible things about the old days. There are plenty

He can't. The lorry carrying his new imperial scales won't be here until July 2027.

Not sure what's worse... booking a Christmas delivery already or that spelling of "Chrimbo"

Stive Pesley got a reaction from angieram in Derby County Community Trust
Indeed - it's a bug bear of mine whilst job hunting.
Any company that doesn't include a salary range says to me
1) we have no idea of the value of this role - or
2) we are hoping to pay as little as we can get away with
Either or both of those things doesn't reflect well on the company
I went through a really long recruitment process for a new job and they didn't mention salary at all (I asked and they said that was just negotiated by HR at the end of the process, should I be successful)
No surprise - they offered me the job, I spoke to their HR dept who asked my salary expectations, and then told me that was above what they could afford.
Total waste of time for everyone, and I stayed in my old job

I bet they'll say dependent upon skills and experience. In other words, we'll pay as little as we think you'll accept.

The club and the community trust never seem to publicise their salaries. Coming from the public and charity sector I find it strange.
But lots of private companies don't.
I would hope if you send for details, they are in there. Lot of wasted effort if not!

Stive Pesley got a reaction from Ted McMinn Football Genius in Embargo.
When you think of it that way - if they give us a full 12 or even the rumoured 9 - for what wasn't really a clear cut breach - that leaves a lot of room for other clubs getting deductions for whatever minor misdemeanours they have.
And you may think the EFL won't want to be dishing out multiple points deductions (as that shines a spotlight on how daft and inconsistent their rules are) but if the other clubs get a sniff of potentially staying up if they can push for deductions against say, 2 other clubs on the basis of "well if what Derby did was worth a 12 point deduction then..."
Could get interesting

Stive Pesley got a reaction from Angry Ram in Social Media - What is it doing to us?
I can't disagree - and it's interesting (although touching on a forbidden topic) but all they are really doing is taking capitalism to a natural conclusion. They have found a way to make more and more $$$ and won't stop because the $$$ is all they care about.
The fact they are destroying society along the way is just collateral damage
I think more people are getting turned off social media, but not enough of us. A quick look at the comments on Derbyshire Live are enough to make you lose all hope

Stive Pesley got a reaction from Parsnip in Panic buying
My Morrisons order came, it was missing bread, butter, cheese and pickle
They substituted it for a cheese and pickle sandwich.
Saved me a job

I understand they're also recording a Tiktok dance routine as well.?
Seriously though, they're probably just trying to "embrace the digital age" and put it out there for free.

You don't mean to say it's been put out as a "timewasters go here" move?
After I sent them an email saying I was a discrete professional football investor with a world champion boxing history, house on tiktok and experience of investing in sheff wednesday and i had plans to sign £20m players....
