You can normally tell straight away from a players first touch and then what he does next and instantly, you knew he was in control of the ball and always gave himself a couple of options.

I said to my lad within 2 minutes of him being on the pitch 'this lad looks very good'.

I remember saying the same thing when I first saw Will Hughes

I think there are similarities between Martin and Collins in the sense that they both on the pitch can come across as petulant and mardy if things aren't going their way.

Personally I don't see it on the whole as a negative trait. For me, it shows they care and have a will and a desire to win.

The difference between them in this respect is that Martin generally performed for us. Collins atm is in a bad run of form so it makes him look rather silly being petulant when he isn't doing his own job to a decent standard.

The best way for Collins to stop the constructive criticism is to knuckle down, recapture his form and fire us up the league.

    Or,in some cases,destructive

Our wage constraints are based on the squad as a whole, we can afford to pay a select few more than the cap as long as a few are on less than the average cap. Hence Hourihane/Mcgoldrick being in our squad.

Be very interesting in the next transfer window ( and, hopefully, this one!) when you look at players whose contracts expire in summer.we can trigger an extension to Knight's but as for the others? Add Loach and Springett to the list as well.

Maybe we'll go for that Georgie Kelly who Warne signed for them last season, good size, mobile & scored plenty in the Irish leagues?

Scored some decent goals shown on YouTube but in the Irish league so the standard of defending may be poor.Sounds as if he's now recovered from a bad hamstring injury suffered  pre Xmas.26 years old and 5'10" tall, contracted until June 2025.Transfermarket valuation shown as 400k so,if we are interested,it'll take all PW's powers of persuasion .

Disappointing to read some fans' comments about Curtis. He's always needed games off the back of an injury and the need to find someone to criticise every game, no matter how good the performance as a team, is wearing thin. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course, but there are players who have earned the right to avoid pointless, over the top pelters. Curtis is definitely one of them IMO.

Forever a club legend in my eyes for his selfless act in playing that last game of the season, despite the threat of aggravating an injury, and signing a disclaimer on the Club's behalf.I wish him the very best in whatever he chooses to do in the future. He must have been a big help to Rooney and Rosenior, then an inspiration for the younger players that came through.

Young star to be replaced by old has been.
That unfortunately is where we are in our development.

If it happens we just have to dust ourselves down and get on with it.

Or,he's here to replace Chester .(always injured) Davies ( making mistakes regularly) and Stearman( never features).Could be here to boost the height and physicality in the back four, particularly at set pieces at either end. He's equipped for this division and,as a short term signing until 2024,would do us a job.

I always thought that Hugill was a decent forward unless you wanted him to score goals! His effort and workrate are beyond question, but in my opinion, he needs 10 chances to score a goal.

We already have a couple of those but if Warne is confident that he could coach him to score 1 in every 3 or 4 chances then we'd have a top notch striker.

He'll get a goal a game for us then if he comes!

Some of our fans on twitter having a go at Warne are absolutely ridiculous.

No team would get relegated from the Championship, come back for pre season with 5 players and get anywhere near to promotion from League One. The fact we're 7th is a miracle in itself.

We don't have a right back, we have 2 wingers (Ones injured) the squad at full strength is unbelievably short. Take 5 regulars out and we're threadbare.

The game management today after going down to 10 men was so poor. But these players make such poor decisions at times, going directly against what they've been told to do.

All Warne can do is work with what we've got, which isn't a lot. Get through this month, get some of the injured players back and get to January.

We need at the very least a right back, a midfield enforcer and a winger. But I think we'll get more than that.

Clowes said himself that there will be a period of consolidation.

Exactly, well said ! We're lucky to still have a club and ,due to our circumstances, had to bring in several players at the tail end of their careers and young inexperienced loanees,Under Rosenior we played a lot of possession football with not a lot of end product.Where are the critics now who were saying we were too slow and easy to play against? Now,under Warne an energetic full on approach has resulted in several of the older players suffering a variety of pulls, strains and other niggling injuries.Warne has  highlighted the lack of players in their mid 20s and is looking to address this in the next 2/3 windows.

We're still 7th and but for errors by Davies away to Ipswich and Cashin ( again) in the last minute of the home game with Plymouth we'd be in the top 6 with a game in hand.Funny how a manager has to shoulder the blame when his better players make silly blunders!

Cloughie and Fergie had similar starts at Derby and Utd respectively and ,if forums and Facebook existed I suspect they'd not have survived the "experts" views! ? Give Warne time to bring in his own players and instil his methods (he's only had 10 games)and then let's see where we are.We seem to have gone from gratitude we're still in existence to complaining that we're not serious promotion contenders.Grow up,it takes time

Interested to see how this is communicated.

Surely if Liam is staying on the coaching team it must be amicable? Perhaps he didn't want to be manager, happier coaching?

It worked for Steve McLaren under Jim Smith and Fergie so,why not? That no.1 spot is tough and I’ve always had a nagging doubt about Rosenior’s mental toughness for the role.Having said that,I’d be delighted if he stayed on with us in the coaching role.

    Wildsmith 6 did nothing wrong

roberts 3 really poor, fozzy a much better option

davies 4 one of his worst games for us, probably rusty after a while out

cashin 4 poor and at fault for the second

knight 5 worst game of the season, kept going at least. Penalty was poor

Bird 4 achieving nothing this season

hourihane 4 same as bird, midfield needs changing

    sibley 2 terrible

dobbin 6 at least looked interested

nml 5 worst game, still could have been involved in a couple of goals

Collins 5 needs to get involved in the game more

    Subs

barkhuizen 5 should’ve scored at least one

    Mcgoldrick 5 did little

osula 2, did he touch the ball?

It seems as if every error he makes results in a goal-perhaps it’s time to pair Davies with Stearman for a couple of games to give him a breather
