I guess it's gonna be a case of saying ' we can't judge till he's had a chance to get 'his' transfer window done in Jan ....' which means 4 months of this ?
Get yourself a decent calendar!

Interested to see how this is communicated.
Surely if Liam is staying on the coaching team it must be amicable? Perhaps he didn't want to be manager, happier coaching?
It worked for Steve McLaren under Jim Smith and Fergie so,why not? That no.1 spot is tough and I’ve always had a nagging doubt about Rosenior’s mental toughness for the role.Having said that,I’d be delighted if he stayed on with us in the coaching role.

Wildsmith 6 did nothing wrong
roberts 3 really poor, fozzy a much better option
davies 4 one of his worst games for us, probably rusty after a while out
cashin 4 poor and at fault for the second
knight 5 worst game of the season, kept going at least. Penalty was poor
Bird 4 achieving nothing this season
hourihane 4 same as bird, midfield needs changing
sibley 2 terrible
dobbin 6 at least looked interested
nml 5 worst game, still could have been involved in a couple of goals
Collins 5 needs to get involved in the game more
Subs
barkhuizen 5 should’ve scored at least one
Mcgoldrick 5 did little
osula 2, did he touch the ball?
It seems as if every error he makes results in a goal-perhaps it’s time to pair Davies with Stearman for a couple of games to give him a breather

Hopefully the striker to push Collins for a starting place ?
Unless it’s Liam Delap, which I doubt,I’d like a young ,quick winger as cover for Barkhuizen or Mendez-Laing

Blimey ,it didn’t take long for the moaners and football managers in the stands to start! 44 days ago we were still in administration.Since then we’ve signed 12/13 new players in a market based on financial restrictions imposed by the EFL.We’re at least a fortnight behind in terms of fitness and we’re trying to bed in these new players and develop a playing pattern with an inexperienced, although articulate and enthusistic ,interim manager.Football isn’t an exact science and each season there’ll be highs and lows.Personally,I’m delighted with the start and expect fitness and results to improve steadily.Just listened to LR’s post match interview and he emphasised we’re a work in progress and the importance of spirit, resilience and determination in the squad.I think the realists among us realise there’s still a long way to go but from where we were,we should be really pleased with the progress made. Onwards and upwards !

Happy for him to return on a low-cost one year contract - providing we don't give him any one-on-one chances with the opposition keeper.
Decent with penalties though-will never forget the one against Sheff Wed that kept us up.

Well, big Trav seemed pretty sure a couple of weeks back. Are you doubting him?
Unless he’s Jake Buxton ,yes!

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not panicking yet. As you say, there’s 3 weeks left in the window.
Just a bit frustrating to miss out on a player who appeared to be our main target in his position. There’s still time for the recruitment team to find an alternative though - maybe even someone better - so let’s hope they do. They’re gonna be busy over the next few weeks no doubt.
Do we know this for a fact or was it just pure speculation?

If Knight goes then I am completely convinced it won't be to Birmingham. Simply put, he is too good for them. If there are multiple clubs in for him then any one of them would represent a better option than a club with a basket case ownership structure, vultures circling on the takeover front, living dangerously with FFP and a crumbling stadium that is only ever half full.
At least when things got bad at Derby the fans were there and the club had a siege mentality to it. You won't even get that at Birmingham.
Sounds as if Burnley are interested. In which case we should be asking for a decent fee if he does leave.

I’m sure I read recently that Derby had asked Max Bird and Jason Knight to sign contract extensions otherwise they’d be sold in this window. It closes on September 1st so we have an interesting month looming!

My understanding is yes - because its classed as additional revenue not covered in the budget.
Think we have to pay Arsenal £2.5m ,the first instalment,at the end of August

Birmingham showing an interest. Wonder how much of a loan fee we’ll get from them? Would’ve thought not a lot.
Sneaking suspicion Stephens might sign once Bielik has left the building.Would love him to stay but if he does leave or go out on loan I think his wages would cover 3 new signings.Bigger picture and all that .

So,according to this article,we still owe £5m for Bielik,to be paid in two further instalments.

This is what I’ve missed! 26 days ago we didn’t have a club,no owner,5 players,no season tickets sold,no kit or sponsor and a couple of weeks behind in the pre season fitness stakes. Now the club is safe,we have an owner,15,000 season tickets sold and 11 new players signed with more to come. All other areas of the club improved and work in progress on those that haven’t.
How soon we forget..?

Mick Coop was very consistent too.
It's not always a good thing
Aaarrgghh! You’ve just reminded me of the first name I put down on the team sheet for my all-time worst DCFC team!!Just before teatime as well!

Barkhuizen seems like he made a wish with a crooked genie for devastating pace, and the tragic side effect is he's been left with zero ball control
Just like Johnny Russell then ?

He was at Huddersfield from 2013 to 2019 before transferring to Stoke so it's possible his actual home is still at Huddersfield - if so, Boro is still 90 miles away, Derby would be 70 miles
Guess it depends on if he has a family settled somewhere & where they want to live.
Now Boro have sold Djed Spence for up to £20m, they should have some decent salaries to offer to new players
Fair comment .Just read that Wilder has bids in for three Prem strikers and is waiting to hear the outcome. They got £12.5m for Spence with potential add ons of £7.5m but I’m sure I read last season that they’d got some serious debt issues to resolve or is that just wishful thinking on my part re the arch villain Gibson?!
-
Hell of a commute to Boro from Stoke (163 miles) so does he move house to go there for better pay and play at a higher level than us ? Or,does he travel to Derby( easier journey-35 miles) on lower money and look at our other signings and think that he’d like to be part of the LR project at a bigger club.Minimal disruption and exciting project or more money at dour Boro.-your call Tommy ?

Complete and utter s*** for 90 minutes as soon as we play against the sort of football we'll see utilised against us on a regular basis this season.
Hard to see what we were even trying to do tbh, other than practice our reactions to losing the ball in as many stupid ways as possible!
Oh well it's a good job pre season results mean nowt!
Great response to your own critique ?
