I think everyone needs to relax a bit until we hear something from an official source. (not Dawes)

Nixons radio interview told us all we need to know. Kirchner has the dosh has tried to pay it over. Now waiting for anti money laundering checks to clear.
Times scale making us all twitchy. Just have to sit tight today I think.

Agree never wanted him anywhere near our club..he would be better than liquidation and we would have a club and could count down the days until he flogged it for a profit as hopefully he wouldn't stay long.

I don't get the love for Mike Ashley
I don't think Quantuma have covered themselves in glory, but it's a reasonable question to ask here:
If MA's bid was the best for the club, why was he not the preferred bidder ?
The obvious answer is that his bid was no good
I've said all along that he's a vulture waiting to pick the bones off our corpse
Yes - MA buying the club is better than the club being liquidated, but I still think it will be a(nother) disaster if he takes over

...and immediately criticised the state of the infrastructure.

". Newcastle have trained at Darsley Park since 2003, but Staveley has said the facilities are "really awful" and must be improved, and that St James' Park "needs a little bit of love."
"There's no point having fantastic players if there's nowhere suitable for them to train," Staveley also said
    ...
What isn't so attractive is the condition of the club: the stadium certainly needs work done to it and a lick of paint, and the consortium are well aware of that.
"Amanda Staveley described the training ground as 'awful' last week, so that's something she'll want to either completely start again, or refurbish, but I'd imagine they'd want to rip it up and start again.  "

    https://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/newcastle-uniteds-owners-planning-st-jamess-park-renovation-and-expansion-3623326
Expansion was never on Ashley’s agenda – the billionaire ditched plans for a 60,000 ground drawn up by the previous administration – and the stadium was neglected.
The club is already working on plans for internal refurbishments for areas which badly need updating.
For many years, Newcastle fans mocked the pink seats at the Stadium of Light. The reality, however, was that St James’s Park also badly needed a internal and external facelift, something which has been underlined by photographs circulated on social media over the past few years. There were pictures of peeling paint, damp toilets, tiny TVs and dangling cables.
    ....
However, the figures told a different story. Just £200,000 was spent on infrastructure in 2019/20. Damningly, the club spent a “feeble” £11million on infrastructure under Ashley up to July 2020, according to analysis from Swiss Ramble"

    Sounds absolutely wonderful!

What an absolute bell-end this bloke is - either Kirchner knows it's going to collapse, in which case he can't/won't do anything, or else he's waiting on someone (probably the financial authorities) to give him the o.k.
Does this so-called journo expect him to sit at his desk fretting and making phone-calls all day? This type of crap is why people no longer have any respect for the click-bait merchants...

Ever heard the phrase 'a fate worse than death'? That's what it's going to be like under Ashley.
He won't be our saviour, he'll be our jailor. We won't be facing the death penalty, but we'll be chained up in the basement and kicked in the stomach daily.
    **** Mike Ashley.

Unless you know EXACTLY what the issue is, then you are slinging mud around without reason. Poor.
You cannot say playing golf is the wrong thing, unless you know there's something else that he could be doing, and you do not know this unless you know what is the issue. If it is just waiting for clearances etc, what do you expect him to do?
Please tell us your solution that means he cannot enjoy a pre-arranged game of golf

Nice to see the OPs opening few words being utterly ignored ?
I mentioned in another thread re. similar cost saving suggestions to switch your dishwasher/washing machine/etc to come on overnight.  Depending on your energy tariffs you're probably paying a lot less between midnight and 7am.
We swapped ours to work overnight a few months ago and reckon we're saving £15/month - or the best part of £200/year.  Thats getting on for half a season ticket!

Agree with this and people should temper their expectations accordingly.
We've lost a lot of players (and no doubt more will go) the youth academy has been raided and we're limited by even more strict FFP rules in League One.
My hope is that Rooney signs a 3+ year contract with the intention of seeing it through, its not going to be a quick fix and if managers quite part way through the rebuild there is the potential of ending up with an unbalanced squad again as we did under MMs hire and fire regime.
