Yeah it's a straw-clutchy but.... there's nothing to stop us making signings during the week and not officially announcing them until Friday or Saturday.
The later we leave it the less idea Huddersfield will have as to who they're up against ?

Also, given our current situation anyone wanting Lawrence gone this summer needs their head looking at.

Derby blood got a reaction from Premier ram in Poll: Do we fans need a 'pound of flesh' from Mel?
Agree we should go to the game to support the team and Manager, because the problems at Derby are not down to them, the sooner we are sold the better for everyone including Mel. Will not boo Mel, as all my energy will be supporting the team, but i will not support Mel, for what he has done, but No booing or calling for his head, i am there to support Derby County, as i have done for 40 odd years or more. Once A Ram Always A Ram.

Mel's tenure has to be judged on where he's left us and if we're being honest we're an absolute basket case of a club right now. He's been completely imprudent during his tenure, had no distinctive identity in his leadership of the club and has increasingly resorted to famous appointments papering over the growing cracks. Fundamentally, he's made so many mistakes he's harmed the club for potentially a very long time and our reputation with both the governing body and the outside world is at a pretty much all time low.

He's not had bad intentions but he can't be considered an owner who has left us in a good place and the silence from him and the board since reality has bitten around the club hasn't exactly helped matters. He was more than happy to accept the applause and adulation early on in his reign so now he's got to be ready to face the music since things have hit peak awful.

Sorry, but look at the state of us. I don't understand how this isn't registering with some people yet.

Whatever happens before Saturday, signings or no signings, the fans have a big part to play to create a good atmosphere before, during and after the game.

No boooooooooing, get behind whatever team starts and finishes.

Please, please, please just support the team.

It's not being a hypocrite. We as fans didn't know all the goings on inside the club. He did. He is the owner, he is responsible. Just because we didn't moan at the time, doesn't mean we can't say anything now. We as fans expect him to run the club properly. He simply hasn't done that.

No club has had any income for over a year.
But they all have a squad they can put out.
We have no centre halves and one striker.

Probably worse. We could still put a team out then.

If we can only sign 3 or 4 then we might as well just give up now.
    Shambles of a club.
Mel Morris took over a club on the brink of the premier League and turned them into a shoe in for relegation to League One. With that little money we can't sign more than 3 free transfers.
I'll never forgive that bloke for what he's done to this football club.
And I hope the fans going on Saturday let him know exactly what they think of him.

Taking the piss out of your own manager purely out of spite is inbred levels of stupid. What a way to get behind your team.

Would have to credit Rooney with an improved style of football all pre-season. Looked to play out from the back in all 4 games against different types of opponents, patient with purpose but good to watch. Want us to continue in this vein & aim to get better at it.
The kids will be key to this new style taking hold given how well they know each other & you could see it today with how confident they were knocking it about. I dont expect us to be a high scoring side & the style will be put under severe scrutiny in the Championship but if you can look to control the ball, you stand half a chance of winning games. Its also much more suited to a 'team dynamic' where we'd be less reliant on individual flashes of brilliance, necessary given our financial state & inability to buy in.
On the subject of youth, really pleased to see Max Bird getting back to his best...hopefully that continues into the league campaign as we need him to kick on. Also liked how much involvement the likes of Hutchinson, Williams, Ebosele & Thompson have had & how good they've looked. Also think Cashin & Stretton are going to be important for us this season. My main concern is for Sibley...I hope Rooney sees him as a long term option & is trying to coax the best out of him because it'd be a shocking waste of talent for him to have a repeat of last season or to leave.

hopefully we don’t break Forsyth again because he seems to have a lot of jobs - emergency centre half, left back and emergency captain - great club servant

I find it a little bizarre that you can forgive someone that could have killed himself, his teammates and innocent people on the road whilst being angered by the manager falling asleep in a hotel room drunk with 2 mates and some women.
I mean the 2 are not even on the same scale.

Nope, I'd stick with the trialists and then slot in a couple of our 'CBs' if we're nowhere for the first game. But I reckon we will be at least a CB in by then! ?
