I do agree in that it wasn’t great, I thought it was an extremely poor performance with very little fluidity or cohesion and coughing up possession without any real pressure. Warne said himself we lacked aggression - personally I thought we lacked more. I agreed they didn’t batter us but they deserved their win.
I think we opened them up once, maybe twice in 90 minutes and Warne said if we’d been playing till Monday we probably wouldn’t have scored.
it was his other comments which annoyed, as he inferred that if we’d took our chances we’d have easily won, their keeper man of the match etc - completely disagreed with this.
I am expecting us to go to places like Shrewsbury and give a far better account of ourselves than we did, especially with the squad we have -  Cheltenham was the same - it’s why so many questions are being asked of the management when the team puts in that kind of performance. I am one of those who is concerned.
Maybe that’s why I could be accused of being entitled, which is what the recent posts have been debating.

I can understand that patience amongst certain elements of our fan base is running thin.  Since the Villa Play Off game we have had a very tough few seasons and little to enjoy. The marches and the collective spirit against the EFL was outstanding and other teams looked on in envy at our support that was so together and behind a team whereby results rarely went in our favour.
It seems to have changed so quickly but I don't think we are entitled.  The facts are, we are a big club that has find ourselves in a league we have rarely visited, which on our previous visit we looked like, and did, progress after similar financial issues, arguably in a far worst position.  We have yet to see similar progress and this is why frustration has boiled over.  Certain performances have been extremely disappointing to say the least.
I don't know how much Clowes wants/has to invest in us but if I am speculating then I doubt he'd want to go to the expense of sacking Warne at the moment.  However, we need to be in the mix for top two and secured in the play off position come mid December, otherwise Warne has to go - if not, then a new manager needs to be given the January window and the rest of the season to try and turn things around.
Not sure if this makes me entitled, but if it does, then so be it.

I make you right Ramsbottom.  I bang on about Warne not replacing Didzy.  It wasn't just his goals, but his movement and his ability to receive the ball in tight areas and open things up.  Against Exeter NML was like the player of last season, but I think he's been really missing Didzy's quality.
We need to get to January and be competing in the top six then bring in a couple at the top end of the pitch as for me, I don't see enough quality in Waghorn, Collins, and Washington.  Endeavor from them all, yes, but I can't see that trio firing us to promotion.
I accept he will be working on a budget, but I think we should have risked quality of quantity up top, then filled in with the likes of Waghorn.
Midfield is still an area we don't have enough legs, but should have enough about them to be doing better than we are - Warne needs to find the right blend and get a tune out of them.  Defensively I think we are very strong and we are not shipping goals.
Problem being, is with so many out of contract, where will it leave us in January and the Summer, especially if we don't go up.  Another re-build meaning a new squad would have to gel again, so back to square one.
    Cheers

It seems we pretty much agree.  I also don't agree with those who wanted Warne sacked after 3 games this season either, although in this instant society we have created they would argue he had most of the previous season and things have not improved but looked like it was getting worse.
Personally I think Warne is walking on thin ice and we have to see improvement in performance and league position as we agreed - I too do not assume the points you mentioned and I really hope things tun for DC, for putting his hand in his pocket and saving our great club.  I try to put myself in DC's position - he let Rosenior go and backed his horse by bringing in Warne - as a Football chairman you more often than not have to sack a manager - so you would think financially it's all part of the plan and you hope you don't have to pay out on, but in truth I've no idea how much it would cost.
The Warne interview after the Shrewsbury game really annoyed me - it was a very poor performance I felt we didn't deserve anything from the game - and his whole interview contradicted that, especially about all the so called chances we never took.  We should be better and we should be competing with the likes of Shrewsbury.
I sincerely hope performances improve and debates like this are confined to history.
I still don't think that's me being entitled.

Unlikely anyone would know the answer to that outside of Clowes & Pearce but its a fair bet that with 35 months left of his contract & with Warne having been lured from a Championship club, it isn't going to be cheap.
David Clowes is a proper businessman though & given his additional background as a pilot, will be very used to managing risk. My suspicion is that Warne's potential exit has been factored into this season's budget - Clowes can't have been impressed with the way we fell away from the playoff spots from March onwards or the playing style & the summer transfer incomings do seem very conservative given the higher than expected turnover from last year's strong season ticket sales & unexpected cup runs. You would also assume Pearce will have discussed 'what if' scenarios with Clowes given his experience of multiple Morris managerial exits & the undoubted expectation on Warne to deliver promotion this season.
Like @i-Ram says, I think Warne has a couple of weeks to save his job - in particular, if we fail to win the 2 games at home against limited opposition, it would surely prove (alongside all the evidence to date) that we are incapable of mounting a credible top 6 push & hence, no further reason to prolong Warne's reign any further.

I wouldn’t, nor would I have appointed him, but I am trying to take a balanced view of where we are at without sufficient knowledge of factors like whether he still has the dressing room, and what the costs are to get rid of him. Who would be a football club saviour?

I felt it was necessary to go with a very strong line up last night, especially considering the international break and it being so long until we play again, plus the squad has shown unfortunately only a  few glimpses at times this season of what it could be capable off so considering the new faces, I felt it was better to allow them to try and gell further.
I bang on about Warne not replacing Didzy and it was highlighted yet again last night for me. We should have been 3 up possibly 4 by half time had we got a player of his quality up top.
The game would have been secured and then allowed us to look at the youngsters plus the Wolves game now should mean they are all given game time.
Thought his substitution seemed very odd and Warne seems to over complicate things but overall job done.
Let’s hope we see more of the glimpses of quality we have seen.

I thought he was a mediocre manager at best whose wages helped to drain the club's finances even further at a time we could ill afford to do so.
Plus I feel he was always instrumental in the removal of cocu and undermined him as the manager in his own desire for management.
And he will always be the man who was in charge when we were relegated to league 1.
A massive mistake by Birmingham that won't them take long to regret I fear.

GangwayD got a reaction from lrm14 in Will Clowes patience soon run out?
As you stated RM, it's down to Clowes and what he will accept.
I would speculate that not only have we had the forced financial constraints, I feel that due to our recent history of wealthy owners coming in (MM and Lionel) and losing a considerable amount of their personal investment/wealth DC will probably feel it would be crazy not to be much more prudent, even he wasn't allowed to be, so I'd guess the brief last year was play offs at best.
This season I'd guess the brief will be more top two at best and established in the play offs at worst - whilst working within the budget and reducing the average age of the squad on short contracts, so we don't start each season having to recruit so many new players.
For footballing reasons and continuity I was not really sure on the logic of the Warne appointment, but DC has backed his horse and I doubt he'd want to almost admit defeat now and pay him and his staff off at the moment.
Clowes will no doubt have concerns and pressure is mounting but we've not reached tipping point for me.
Not knowing all the ins and outs on costs etc, I think he will show Warne more patience, but we clearly need to see much improved performances, points, and league position in the coming weeks.
Can Warne do it.  Of course I hope so, but I'm not really sure he will with some of the players recruited and the quality of Didzy not being replaced.  I'm also not really sure what's happened to our high press and gas out approach.
Maybe PW will get to January and hopefully funds are in the pot to invest in some more creativity and goals, but I don't see the point in giving him the window if we find ourselves in a similar league position that we are today, coupled with very underwhelming performances. - that's surely when DC patience would go.
    Up to you PW.

This is getting so tedious, especially as one man and his trusted advisers are the only people who matter here. Categorically, the business plan will not include funds set aside/ringfenced for sacking a manager. That doesn't mean they won't have considered that PW won't make it to the end of his contract but any cash needed to pay the 4 of them off will undoubtedly come out of the playing budget.
Generally clubs are not run like we used to be. We need to remember where MM and his scattergun approach to hiring and firing got us. Changing from 433 possession based with Mac to RealMadrid mk2 with Clement (spunking £10m in one day on BJ and Butterfingers), hard running, lots of effort with Pearson, back again to 433 with Mac v2, kick and rush with Rowett, 433 with Fat Frank, totalfootball with Cocu, Rosenior-ball under Rooney and now the patented League 1 no control but lots of crosses with PW.
I am not saying Clowes will not pull the plug but a 4 year contract, being singleminded in who he wanted and being just outside the playoffs before Autumn is here tells me it isn't likely to be anytime soon. So the endless new threads by people wanting their 15 mins of DCFCFans glory finding new ways to criticise PW are very premature. IMHO. I expect Clowes will look at all the good things that have happened under PW rather than concentrate on the negative.
As others have said, the sense of entitlement in our fanbase is off the scale. Last week wasn't perfect but 5 points from 3 games is 76 points, as is 18 from 11, but with the positives of Nyambe, Nelson, Fornah, Wilson plus Bird, Hourihane fit to play, solid back 5, with Ward back soon.
Having said all that, if football owners can sack Eustace with their team in 6th, then anything can happen. But I trust Mr Clowes with my club much more than that.
